Job description

Project Lead

Full Time 37.5 hours per week

Birmingham, London or Manchester

£42,000 per annum (plus £3,000 London Weighting if applicable)

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a motivated and talented professional to join our Project Management Office (PMO) as Project Lead. The role is responsible for leading a portfolio of cross-organisation projects with the potential to make a significant impact across the business.

This role is also responsible for developing the project plans, their implementation and ensuring that projects within their portfolio are successfully delivered in line with the plans. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop project management best practice as the team establishes its ways of working.

Based in either our Birmingham, London or Manchester office, and reporting to the Director of Programmes, you’ll work with the wider PMO team to establish and embed project management best practice within Ambition, developing templates, upskilling staff and developing the team. You will report in writing or orally as required to senior project stakeholders, including Directors, Executive Directors, Trustees and the Department for Education.

This exciting role is varied and complex, and will require someone with a track record of delivering cross organisation and cross team projects. It is essential that you have excellent organisation, programme and project management skills. You must have excellent communication and negotiating/influencing skills with the ability to draw stakeholders together for a shared goal.

  • Enhanced maternity pay after a year’s service.
  • Shared parental leave package.
  • Access to free, confidential 24/7 wellbeing and support line.
