Responsible for: To develop and manage fully operational fundraising channels, including corporate, institutional and individual giving.

Location:London Office; This is a hybrid work model between remote and in-office environments.

Purpose of Role

Smile Train seeks a collaborative, innovative, and entrepreneurial professional for the role of Director of Fundraising, Smile Train UK. The candidate will have a strong and diverse background in creating opportunities and identifying prospects and is an experienced and creative fundraising leader with proven success of expanding support from individuals, corporations, and foundations. They will have an emphasis on major gifts and manage a portfolio of high-level donors. The Director of Fundraising is a self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset.

Primary responsibilities

• The Director is responsible for managing, hiring, and effectively leading the fundraising team towards the achievement of their individual targets.
• Maintains a portfolio of major donors and prospects by creating and implementing strategies for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors with the capacity to make 5- and 6-figure annual gifts and 6- and 7-figure leadership gifts.
• The position demands experience with designing fundraising strategies and good management skills for implementing strong, prioritised and focused work plans that achieve (or exceed) the agreed organisational goals.
• Overall responsibility of the annual revenue budget, ensuring reporting requirements as defined by the VP, International Development for monthly, quarterly, and annual budget and target monitoring.
• This position shall work in tandem with the global communications team to jointly create a positive, campaign-driven image of Smile Train in the United Kingdom.
• Manage Philanthropic Advisory Council of high-level Smile Train supporters.

Experience

• Minimum seven years' experience in senior level fundraising, ideally in a leadership role with oversight over end-to-end execution. 
• Knowledge of individual, corporate, foundation and major donor fundraising methodology including cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and prospecting of donors.
• Proven track record in leading fundraising and delivering income growth within a similar sized organization.
• Experience in a marketing and public relations role a plus.

Skills Required

• Minimum undergraduate university degree.
• Strong analytical skills, database proficiency and outstanding budgetary and financial skills, including target setting and monitoring and proficiency in Excel.
• Knowledge and/or experience in marketing, fundraising acquisition, development and retention methods and budget management. 
• Experience in SalesForce or other CRM.
• Excellent communication (oral & written) skills in English.
• Experience in building, mentoring, and coaching a team of fundraising specialists.
• Awareness and knowledge of local fundraising market.

Support Coordinator

This is an exciting opportunity to work with stroke survivors and their families to support them following stroke. We’re looking for an innovative, passionate professional, whose values match our own, can think independently and is open to a coaching style of management, to join our Stroke Recovery Service based in Suffolk.

Position: S11157 Stroke Association Support Coordinator – Communication Support

Location: Home-based, Suffolk however, frequent travel will be required as part of this role (may include team meetings or other work-related meetings)

Hours: Full-time 35 hour per week (flexible working available)

Salary: Circa £25,500 per annum

Contract: Our services are project-funded, we currently have funding for this service until 31 March 2025.

• Work with the Director and consultants to own and implement a robust fundraising strategy to support the organisation as it executes its new strategic plan 

• Develop processes for managing fundraising applications and stewardship of existing funders and supporters

ROLE PURPOSE
The Programme Liaison Officer (full-time, fixed-term contract for 18 months, with possibility to extend) will join the expanding Sector Improvement Team. They will provide vital administration, communication and digital liaison and support required to successfully run and deliver the University Mental Health Charter Programme and Award, achieve the Sector Improvement Team’s key objectives, and contribute to the whole charity’s mission and goals.  This is an exciting opportunity to help the team scale the University Mental Health Charter, with the potential to impact 2.5 million staff and students across the UK.

This role will include responding to queries, liaising with assessors, universities and general enquiries. The post holder will be responsible for working with the team to develop and monitor our HUB and digital platforms, for developing regular newsletters and working with colleagues to liaise with the many stakeholders involved in the assessment and programme processes.

Key responsibilities 

Liaison support

• Provide effective liaison and administrative support to the Sector Improvement Programme(s), working closely with the Sector Improvement Lead and Programme Managers to ensure thesuccessful delivery of the programmes
• Support the planning and delivery of key Sector Improvement Programme activities such as the Winter Panel and the recruitment of the Award Assessors, CPD training and responding togeneral enquiries
• Act as the first point of contact for key stakeholders’ inquiries through the Charter Inbox and Student Minds’ Hub

Digital and resources support

• Utilise project management tools to manage work, deadlines and workflows alongside relevant colleagues to ensure timely and quality programme delivery

Main Purpose of the Post

This post will play a key role in ensuring that Women's Aid continues to be recognised and respected for the survivor-centred expert voice on domestic abuse, with a particular lead on amplifying the voices of our member services. The role will be responsible for building sustainable relationships and influence with key local stakeholders across England, including local authorities, commissioners, and Women’s Aid member services.

You will: provide line management to the Policy & Practice part of the Policy team; ensure that the public, stakeholders, Women’s Aid’s member services and staff are supported with policy expertise on a range of areas; champion best commissioning practice; coordinate policy responses to government and other agencies; and work with senior leaders across the organisation to ensure that Women’s Aid and its members are equipped to seize key policy opportunities. The post holder will seek to ensure that Women’s Aid has a robust local network across England and a long-term strategy for influence.

About the role 

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Sustrans Behaviour Change and Engagement Team as it looks to encourage those in Harlow and the surrounding area to walk, wheel, and cycle. 

As an Active Travel Project Officer in Harlow and Gilston Town (HGGT), you will assist in the delivery of the behaviour change programme to schools, workplaces and community groups. The project will encourage and enable the community to travel sustainably and actively, through various initiatives, events and competitions. 

Your role will include duties such as the creation of materials and communications to increase the visibility of your work, delivering activities and events with a variety of people, reporting and presenting to stakeholders, and analysing surveys and other monitoring data. 

You will build and manage internal and external relationships with key people such as local community leaders, schools, businesses, local authority officers, along with all Sustrans colleagues within the region. 

This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.

You should have experience of planning and delivering projects, workshops or activities for a diverse audience.

Financial Systems, Control and Accounting

• Oversee the integrity of all financial systems: Develop, monitor and manage the organisation’s financial systems, policies, procedures and internal controls and the development of a consistent approach across Baca.
• To lead the preparation of the organisation’s accounts for audit in accordance with current accounting good practice and Charity Commission’s Standards of Recommended Practice (SORP), liaising with the auditors and present the final accounts to the Finance and Fundraising sub-group and Board for approval.
• To be responsible for adhering to financial delegated authorities as agreed with the Chief Executive and Board.
• To implement, oversee and review Baca’s systems of financial risk management and controls assurance.
• To ensure the purchasing system operates effectively, ensuring sufficient supplies and services by working closely with the Operations Director.
• To lead the payroll provision and ensure that salary and related payments are made accurately and timely.
• To ensure that an appropriate register of assets are maintained accurately.
• To ensure that Baca has adequate cash holdings and cash is moved to interest bearing accounts as appropriate in line with Baca’s ethical asset management policy.

Team and People Management:

• Create, lead, manage, inspire and develop the finance team promoting Baca’s values by being visible, participative and encouraging cross team working
• Effectively manage the performance of the team, ensuring they are working to agreed objectives, delivering outcomes and that they receive appropriate training and support.
• Support theteam in day to day troubleshooting and administration where necessary.
• Develop and deliver integrated annual strategic objectives for all direct reports and their teams
• To keep abreast of legislation affecting financial accounting, that may be relevant to Baca, and to keep the Chief Executive fully aware of any relevant changes in the law.
• To maintain awareness of the fundraising, income generation and marketing environment
• To maintain and increase personal professional skills.

About the role:

As an Operations Manager you will:

• support the Deputy Head of Service to maintain the highest standards of service delivery, across a widely geographically dispersed team
• lead a team of Team Leaders to meet VS & Homicide Service standards & contractual requirements
• support staff & volunteers to keep them safe within their role
• working closely with a range of stakeholders

You will need:

• good organisational skills, able to prioritise effectively & experience of setting & monitoring key performance indicators
• effective communication skills & experience of leading and managing people who work in different ways
• experience of leadership & implementation of change management processes
• ability to build constructive working relationships
• understanding of government policy related to victims & the Criminal justice system
• knowledge of the impact of trauma and bereavement & the importance of trauma informed practice
• understanding of voluntary & statutory agencies
• knowledge of safeguarding practices
• to be prepared to travel across this large geographical area including occasional overnight stays

This role involves regular travel and due to the location, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement.
