Brief role description:

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this role is responsible for what happens in our parks and open spaces on Saturday and Sunday mornings, for the community of volunteers who make this happen and for how we support participants and event teams with their requests and queries.

This role oversees all aspects of delivering and supporting parkrun events across the world, collaborating with global colleagues to ensure that parkrun events continue to be delivered in line with our principles of simple, scalable, sustainable and our promise that they will be free, for everyone, forever. 

This role will also have oversight of the effective delivery of our volunteer strategy and will ensure that our volunteer community and ambassador networks global continue to grow, diversify and thrive.

Also overseeing the Support team who manage event risk assessments and respond to range queries, the successful candidate will be responsive to the learnings from the Support team and translate them into new policy or practice.

Finally, as a member of the SLT this role will help shape and deliver parkrun’s global strategy, championing event delivery and leading cross functional projects. 

Main responsibilities:

• Sets overall global strategy for event delivery, ensuring that parkrun events are not only safe and accessible, but the barriers to event delivery are minimised and the parkrun event delivery model remains simple, scalable, and sustainable.  This includes:

  • Working with the divisional event delivery leads to ensure best practice is developed, balancing local context and global direction

  • Ensuring that divisional event delivery teams are appropriately recording, classifying, actioning, and monitoring event-related incidents

  • Responsibility for operational of the critical incident line, staff and volunteer rostering and training

  • Monitoring critical medical incidents and maximising the safety of participants through proactively reviewing practices and policies

  • Responsibility for creating and maintaining global event delivery guidance, policies and procedures, as well as ensuring that guidance is shared appropriately and that event team adherence is monitored.

• Working with the Global Volunteering Lead to: 

  • To oversee the implementation of parkrun’s global volunteering strategy, and to ensure that volunteering is valued, celebrated and supported as a form of participation

  • Provide internal thought leadership to drive the delivery of a cohesive approach and voice for volunteering activities across our global organisation 

  • Drive forward effective digital and in-person volunteer engagement and high quality support, training and development

  • Oversee volunteer associated policies and procedures

  • Engage with external stakeholders in the volunteering space to ensure parkrun offers best practice in volunteer engagement.

• Working with the Global Head of Support to:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive support strategy that enhances our relationship with our community

  • Oversee the event risk assessment process

  • Continuously assess and enhance support processes to meet evolving needs of the parkrun community

  • Collaborate across the organisation to ensure seamless integration of support services into the overall parkrun ecosystem

  • Monitor performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.

About the role 

We’re looking for someone who can help Likewise understand, evidence and communicate the difference our work makes — for people, for our community, and for the wider system we’re part of.

The Data, Impact and Evaluation Officer will hold and develop our monitoring and evaluation functions, ensuring they reflect the relational nature of our work. Understanding our data, demonstrating our impact, and telling our story in a compelling way are central to our organisation’s strategy going forward. Whether that’s about generating the income to do our work, making sure more people can access our services, or reporting to funders on the social impact of their investment, this role plays a vital part in ensuring our story is well evidenced, well told and widely understood.

This role combines technical ability in data, reporting and evaluation with relational and strategic strengths in collaboration and influence. You’ll work closely with Service Leads, our Fundraising Manager, Wellbeing Support Workers and Volunteers to ensure that data is rigorously collected, recorded, analysed and interrogated. Where you spot gaps in our systems and processes, you’ll lead on designing and implementing solutions.

Key responsibilities 

1. Data and systems 

• Review Likewise’s current data systems and processes and build an understanding of our current strengths, challenges and opportunities for improvement. 

• Establish and manage user-friendly, intuitive data collection processes that reflect the realities of our frontline work. 

• Ensure the quality, consistency and completeness of data across services, supporting accurate reporting and insight. 

• Maintain and develop Likewise’s monitoring and evaluation framework, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and funder requirements. 

• Lead on the improvement of digital systems (e.g. CRM, data dashboards) to make data easier to use and learn from. 

• Lead on GDPR and data protection, including overseeing data management and storage practices, coordinating team training and acting as first point of contact for any data protection 

2. Analysis and reporting (supporting fundraising and contracts) 

• Work with the Fundraising and Communications Manager to generate robust evidence and stories for funding bids and reports. 

• Provide accurate, insightful data to demonstrate need, reach and outcomes for current and prospective funders. 

• Contribute to reporting cycles and project monitoring for grants and commissioned work. 

• Help identify and articulate trends or insights that strengthen our funding cases and future proposals. 

3. Demonstrate and evidence impact 

• Analyse quantitative and qualitative data to show outcomes, learning and social impact. 

• Produce clear, engaging reports and summaries for internal learning and external audiences. 

• Develop or refine theories of change and outcome measures that capture relational and person-centred change. 

• Draw on wider research and evidence to contextualise and strengthen our impact story. 

4. Stories and case studies 

• Build engagement and understanding across the team in the how and why of data and story collection — fostering curiosity, ownership and care. 

• Work with staff, students and volunteers to collect stories, vignettes and quotes that bring our work to life. 

• Collaborate with the Fundraising and Communications Manager to share stories in accessible, ethical and creative ways — through reports, social media or campaigns. 

5. Support service improvement and learning 

• Help teams use data and feedback to reflect, learn and adapt — making learning relevant and motivating. 

• Provide practical training and tools to build confidence and data literacy across teams. 

• Support Directors and Leads to interpret learning and feed insights into service design and development. 

Onboarding and immersion 

• Spend time in the early weeks embedded in our work — shadowing staff, students and volunteers across our 1-1 and community activities. 

• Use this experience to ground frameworks, reporting and data practices in the lived reality of our work. 

About you

The Role 

The CSJ Foundation is looking for a Regional Portfolio Manager (North) to join its Portfolio team to help grow and professionalise it’s offering to charities and donors alike. The CSJF has big ambitions for its work with small charities over the next 3 years, central to this work is our Portfolio team. Based in the north of England (ideally north of Sheffield), the post-holder will be responsible for delivering first-rate charity due diligence on some of the best small charities in the UK. In this role you will use tech solutions to drive insights and understanding about CSJF’s work with charities, in addition, the post-holder will gather intel from frontline charities to create insights to inform the CSJ’s policy work. The post-holder will also seek to generate interesting media stories. The post holder will help to generate new income for the CSJF through multiple streams. The post-holder will work towards pre-agreed targets to grow the CSJF’s work, fully supported by the Managing Director and other colleagues. The Regional Portfolio Manager will hold responsibility for building and maintaining relationships with multiple charities based in the North of England, engaging in conversations with local organisations and individuals, to ensure that the CSJF’s work is driven forward effectively. 

The Person

Main Responsibilities 

Responsibilities for this post include:

• Be a leading member of the CSJF’s portfolio team helping to professionalise and enhance our charity due diligence work

 Job Title: Research and Impact Lead

Contract type: Full time, 12 months maternity cover with the potential to extend

Salary: £46-£53,000 per year (depending on experience)

In this role we are looking for an experienced and motivated mixed methods researcher and evaluator, with excellent partnership, collaboration and communication skills. The role is likely to suit someone with experience of taking overall accountability for delivery of research and evaluation projects. We are seeking candidates with previous experience of place-based learning and evaluation or strong skills that would be transferable to this context, alongside a strong interest in developing expertise in place-based learning and evaluation.

We will provide excellent opportunities for the postholder to further develop their research, leadership and partnership skills in support of a fast changing, purpose driven national charity. What you'll do:

The conflict in Gaza has left thousands of children in urgent need of medical care, trauma support, and long-term assistance. Children Not Numbers is a grassroots UK-based charity committed to the health, safety, education, and wellbeing of Gaza’s children. 

Children Not Numbers (CNN) was established in early 2024 to address the urgent need to support Palestinian children caught up amid an unprecedented conflict. Within 18 months, we have grown rapidly into a global network of c.200 committed contractors and volunteers:

• Emergency medical aid for sick and injured children in Gaza, delivered through collaboration between local staff and an international network of volunteer medics

A professional compliance or risk qualification (e.g. ICA, IRM) would be desirable.

Combat Stress is the UK’s leading mental health charity for veterans. For over a century we’ve been helping former service personnel deal with issues like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety and depression.
