We help people with disabilities in marginalized and underserved communities in the war-affected areas of Democratic Republic of Congo, in order to fulfil their human rights and meet their basic needs.

East Eagle Foundation is committed to helping people marginalized and underserved communities, especially with disabilities in DR Congo, especially in war-affected areas, to fulfill their human rights and meet their basic needs. We work with government bodies, local communities and Disabled People Organizations to implement our projects. EEF has over 10 years of experience working in communities in conflict and post-conflict areas. Currently, EEF is active in seven provinces across the country (Kinshasa, Tanganyika, Kongo-Central, North Kivu, South Kivu, Tshopo and Katanga) and has created an ecosystem of disability rights advocates-the organization maintains a database of more than 2,500 people living with disabilities (members).

To meet the stated objectives identified above, we work in collaboration with the Democratic Republic of the Congo's Ministry of Social Affairs, Humanitarian Action & National Solidarity to work with government staff at the local and regional level and with health and services provider agency staff to ensure they are aware of the rights and abilities of people living with disabilities. We also increase their skills to provide supports that provide full inclusion. This is accomplished through training, educational materials, technical assistance, and the creation of a Community of Practice. Our second focus is to increase the advocacy skills of individuals living with disabilities. This is accomplished through advocacy training and training to create radio and social media content aimed at raising awareness of the rights and abilities of people living with disabilities.

Age UK Volunteer Van Mates travel with Age UK van drivers. The role involves collecting and delivering goods and stock from and to private properties and from one shop to the other, working as a team with the van driver loading and unloading goods from the van and assisting the team with the running of the stockroom. 

What will you be doing? 

In this role, you would be assisting with the collection, loading, and unloading as well as delivery of donated furniture, white goods, clothing, and bric-a-brac to and from private residences and workplaces, helping with the re-distribution of stock and furniture from one shop to another and carrying out tip-runs to dispose of items no longer usable. You would also support staff to manage stock in the stockroom, accept donations, process items for sale.

We need Volunteer Van Mates to support our Van Drivers with the many tasks at hand to ensure that stock is at the right shop, at the right time in the most cost and time efficient manner. This helps Age UK to raise enough funds though our shops to reach and support more older people.

We are looking for people who can help us apply and increase our funding. We cannot do our valuable work without funding. This role can be done from home, with no rota system and how much of your time you give up is completely up to you. We truly appreciate whatever time your able to offer.

We’re looking for volunteer Story Mentors and Illustrator Mentors to support our after-school clubs and on-off projects in Brighton, Worthing, Eastbourne and across Sussex. Please note that these roles are in-person only at various community-based locations.

· Take the register and send post event emails using our bespoke event platform

Key Objectives Include:

· The main purpose of this role is to facilitate and host our Parent/Carer Support Sessions alongside another volunteer

Role Summary.

As a QA Reviewer at Roots Academy, you'll work closely with Regional Leads and the QA team to help maintain and raise the quality of teaching across our programmes. Your role is to support our instructors by regularly observing lessons, offering constructive feedback, and encouraging their continued growth and development.

Your input will help ensure that students benefit from lessons that are clear, engaging, and rooted in sound educational practice.

Key tasks

· Observe lessons via site visits or submitted video recordings throughout the semester.

· Use standardised forms to assess lesson quality and highlight key strengths and areas that could be improved.

· Offer honest and practical feedback, using real examples to guide instructors toward better practice.

· Work alongside Regional Leads to deliver feedback at set points in the semester and support instructor development conversations.

· Attend feedback meetings and take notes to track progress and follow-up actions.

· Recommend helpful activities for instructors, such as shadowing experienced colleagues, team teaching, or reviewing their own lessons.

Overview

This is a Senior Leadership team role.

The Base Camp Manager has responsibility for many of the logistical aspects of the expedition,
including equipment, food, and managing the environmental impact at base camp. You will need to be ready to turn your hand to a range of tasks, acting as the ‘fixer’ for the expedition and supporting the expedition team with all aspects of expedition life.

• Able to commit to all pre-expedition training events.
