What we need from you

This is a really flexible role – you can choose what you’d like to get involved with, for example:

• face-to-face fundraising. Organising or helping with fundraising events, running supermarket collections and fundraising stands, monitoring collection tins 
• online fundraising. Setting up online appeals and writing impactful cat case studies that maximise donations
• marketing. Spreading the word about our fundraising activities, for example on social media and with the local press
• completing administration. Processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, completing Gift Aid paperwork
• championing our work. Getting involved with developing new fundraising ideas and increasing community engagement
• photography. Capturing images of cats in care, cats we are helping, events and all things Cats Protection
• You’ll need to be aged 18+ to volunteer in this role. If you’re aged 16-17, you’ll need to be supervised by a friend, family member, or guardian over the age of 18 in order to carry out any fundraising activity.

Time expectation

This is a flexible role that can fit around your other commitments to suit you. You’ll be part of a team raising vital funds while having fun in the process!

We are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to support our Community Connections Officer and the People we support in Wales.If you’re looking for Communications experience or you love to make a difference, this is the perfect opportunity to get involved! 
 
Activities will include 

Supporting our Facebook and social media presence. This includes:

• Assisting with poster creation and promotional materials 

• Using Canva to create visual content and graphics 

• Creating content and engaging with Dimensions Wales Facebook group members 

• Networking with community social media groups 

• Liaising with Dimensions Community Connections Officer

Job description

We need dedicated volunteers to work at our Olympia store. If you have a passion for fashion (especially second-hand), amazing customer service skills and you are keen to learn new skills, then this opportunity is for you. As a volunteer you will also be involved in receiving, sorting, steaming, and pricing our lovely donations, serving at the till, and using your creativity to create displays around the shop. Training will be provided. As a volunteer, you will be helping to raise money for the Octavia Foundation and support the work we do in the local community.

Role summary

This role will suit a qualified or certified person with the relevant skills, technical knowledge and experience in PAT testing. To apply for this role, you must hold the required certification in PAT testing (valid within the last three years) and be able to provide evidence of this.

St Helena regularly receives donated electrical items from members of the public, however before they can be resold they must be tested to ensure they are fit for purpose. In this role, you will be responsible for PAT testing the electrical items to ensure they are fit for purpose and resale. You must possess adequate education, training and practical skills appropriate to the nature of the electrical work and be able to perceive risks and avoid hazards which electricity can create.

You will liaise with staff on which items are not fit for resale and follow the correct process for disposing of unsaleable items. PAT testing equipment will be supplied by the organisation.

  Main duties of the role

• PAT testing electrical donations

• Recycling or disposing of items that are not fit for resale

• Ensure that hygiene, health, safety and fire regulations are adhered at all times

• Report any defects or health and safety issues to the donation centre manager immediately 

• Where appropriate or required, make use of any personal protective equipment supplied

• Respect confidentiality of information at all times

• Adhere to the values of St Helena

  Training & supervision

• Health and safety training is mandatory (repeated annually)

• Training relevant to the role

• Induction and regular reviews

Experience & qualifications required

• Valid certificate in Portable Appliance Testing which must be evidenced and valid within the last three years

• A member of one of the following bodies, which must be evidenced:

We are looking for Christian volunteers to join our Hospitality Team — helping in the kitchen, dining room, and accommodation areas, and being part of our Christian community.

You will meet some amazing people, whilst making a positive impact to their lives by driving to places they enjoy and appointments that are important.   

Activities will include:  

• Driving the people we support between their homes and services in a safe manner, in accordance with UK law.  

• Driving your own car or house vehicles

• Driving around the Worcester area, which will be the start and end point of the majority of journeys  

• Assisting people we support in and out of vehicles and locations – with assistance from trained Dimensions staff.  

• Driving in a manner that is sensitive of physical and emotional requirements of the people we support.  

  
We are looking for drivers who:  

• Are aged 21 or over, with at least 2 years driving experience  

• Hold a full, clean and current UK Driving License (or equivalent)  

• Have the ability to understand verbal and written instructions in relation to journeys  

• Are friendly with the people we support and our support staff  

• Are willing to commit to volunteer regularly (every other weekend, times to be agreed)  

A DBS check and two character references will be required for this role.

As a Helpline Volunteer, you’ll:

• Provide deep care to abortion seekers by centring compassion and empathy
• Provide invaluable practical support to those forced to travel for an abortion
• Support people via phone and email

You’ll gain valuable skills in teamwork, working with abortion seekers across the EU, empathy and problem solving.

About the Role

As a Charity Ambassador, you will represent Age UK Buckinghamshire at a range of events and settings such as community groups, Rotary Clubs, Church groups, and other local events and venues. You will help raise awareness of the support available to older people, providing information about our services and how people can access advice, practical help, and companionship when they need it.

You will also share the impact of our work by bringing it to life through real examples and stories, helping others understand the real difference this support makes to older people’s lives. Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging presentations and talks about Age UK Buckinghamshire’s work
• Represent the charity at community events, meetings, and local groups

• Promoting planned fundraising initiatives and activities.
