We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Wellbeing Children & Young People's (CYP) Lead to support and shape our therapeutic services for young people in Brighton and Hove.
Overview of key areas of responsibility:
Leadership
- Provide line management support and supervision to wellbeing workers (e.g. counsellors, practitioners, therapists, link workers and trainees).
- Work alongside a team of leads to support the running, development and management of the service.
- Lead induction, mentoring, and training of new staff, trainees, and volunteers.
- Foster a culture of learning, innovation, and continuous improvement across the team.
Core Clinical
- Carry out individual general counselling assessments of children and young people and make appropriate referrals.
- Provide guidance and oversight for complex or high-risk cases.
- Ensure all interventions are evidence-based, child-centred, and trauma-informed.
- Develop and oversee counselling protocols, therapeutic pathways, and risk assessment frameworks.
Safeguarding and Risk
- Lead and give oversight for safeguarding concerns, embedding a safeguarding-first culture across the service.
- Work to ensure all counsellors, staff, and link workers, are trained, confident, and compliant in safeguarding practice.
- Implement robust risk assessment and management processes.
- Monitor safeguarding incidents, identify themes, and strengthen safeguarding practice.
- Liaise with schools, health, social care, police, and other agencies in safeguarding matters.
Service Development
- Work with the Service Manager, Leads and Clinical Leads to strengthen and expand counselling provision, including group work.
- Triage referrals and represent the service in multi-agency triage meetings.
- Promote and develop opportunities for community participation and youth voice in service design.
- Build strong relationships with schools, health services, local authorities, commissioners, and community partners.
- Represent the service at local and regional forums, influencing CYP wellbeing strategies.

Qualifications, knowledge, and experience
- More than 2 years post-qualified at graduate or post graduate level Counselling Diploma or equivalent [of two years minimum duration including personal counselling or psychotherapy].
- BACP Registration or Accreditation and/or other eligible Professional Accreditation e.g. UKCP/HPC.
- Strong team-management and line-management experience is required, including demonstrated experience in supervising, developing, and supporting staff.
- A good level of understanding in therapeutic or counselling theory and practice and working to short-term models.
- A sound understanding of child developmental processes, Child Protection and Vulnerable Adult Safeguarding issues and procedures, along with proven experience in safeguarding young children.
- Solid experience in delivering counselling and/or therapy and assessment, along with experience with dealing with complex cases.
- Experience of multi-disciplinary team working, with the ability to work within time-limited frameworks.

What you'll be doing:
The Director of Fundraising is a senior, strategic leadership role responsible for driving significant and sustainable growth in income for MQ, with a target of achieving £10 million annual turnover over the next five years.
As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the postholder will set and deliver an ambitious, data-led fundraising strategy across philanthropy, trusts and foundations, partnerships and other income streams. They will personally steward high-value relationships while building a high-performing, commercially minded fundraising function capable of supporting MQ’s long-term mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising Strategy & Income Growth
- Develop and deliver MQ’s overall fundraising and income generation strategy, aligned to organisational priorities
- Set clear income targets and KPIs across all fundraising streams
- Personally lead and secure six- and seven-figure gifts, grants and contracts
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with major donors, funders and partners
- Ensure excellent stewardship, reporting and donor experience across all income streams
Pipeline, Performance & Data Oversight
- Provide strategic oversight of the fundraising pipeline, ensuring a healthy balance of prospecting, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship
- Use data, insight and CRM reporting to track performance, forecast income and manage risk
- Identify income concentration risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Drive continuous improvement in fundraising processes, systems and ways of working
Financial Management & Reporting
- Own the Fundraising budget, including income forecasting, expenditure control and cost-of-fundraising oversight
- Work closely with the Finance team to ensure accurate income phasing, reporting and financial planning
- Produce regular reports for the CEO, Executive Team and Board on income performance, pipeline health and risks

Head of Community Sponsorship Role
This is a rare opportunity to lead Citizens UK’s community sponsorship campaign and help build the movement that will be at the heart of a community-led welcome.
This new role comes at an exciting and crucial time, as we seek to build and embed this new form of named community sponsorship in the UK. As Head of Community Sponsorship you will lead on our strategy to develop named sponsorship as a transformative part of the UK’s approach to refugee resettlement and community power. - Ensuring the development and implementation of integrated strategies across care, housing, operations, finance, marketing and communications, human resources and workforce, information management and technology, estates and performance monitoring, management and reporting.
- Providing overall leadership for Harrogate Neighbours in line with the vision, mission and values agreed by the Board of Trustees.
- Providing strategic leadership for fundraising and income diversification, ensuring the organisation has a sustainable and mixed portfolio of income.
- Developing and maintaining positive collaborative partnership arrangements with commissioners, local authorities, local communities, MPs, the voluntary sector, communities and other key partners and stakeholders.

It hosts many of our wellbeing and creative programmes, and through initiatives like the Pay-What-You-Can Supper Club, supports emerging women chefs and builds everyday acts of care and solidarity. The café has the opportunity to not only advances our mission of improving women’s health and wellbeing but also generates vital trading income and partnership opportunities.
While it currently operates at a deficit, it plays a vital role in advancing our wellbeing and community objectives. We are now focused on realising its full commercial potential. A feasibility study is underway to explore a range of operational and business models that will transition the café into a sustainable, profit-making enterprise. Plans include expanding income-generating opportunities through hosting more events, developing an external catering offer, and maximising use of the space for private hire and functions during weekends. Room Hire – Spaces that Enable Collaboration and Impact
Our professional meeting and event spaces are used by charities, community groups, and corporate partners for workshops, training, and strategic planning. With over 500 bookings a year and a 89% return rate, these rooms are known for their quality, warmth, and service. The income they generate supports our wider mission, while also acting as a catalyst for new partnerships and collaborations.
We now aim to build on this success by increasing utilisation on our most popular days (Tuesday to Thursday) and attracting new clients to fill capacity on Mondays, Fridays, evenings, and weekends. Plans include developing loyalty packages for regular clients and introducing new offers such as team wellbeing days that align with our health and wellbeing ethos. This approach will not only maximise income potential but also strengthen The Bridge’s role as a space where organisations connect, collaborate, and thrive.
Key responsibilities:
1. Income Generation Strategy
· Develop and implement a comprehensive income generation strategy for our social businesses (women’s-only gym and studio, café, and meeting room hire).

You will bring extensive experience of leading large scale face-to-face acquisition programmes, either through in-house teams, external agencies or a combination of both. You will have strong operational leadership skills and be comfortable managing complex budgets, overseeing high-value agency contracts and using data and insight to drive performance, innovation and continuous improvement.
You will have a strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements including the Code of Fundraising Practice, Gambling Commission regulations, GDPR and safeguarding. Importantly you will also champion ethical, inclusive and anti-racist practice across all activity in the role. Furthermore, be a collaborative and emotionally intelligent leader who will excel at influencing and working across teams, building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and leading teams through change with confidence.

About the team
This role sits within the Individual Giving team which sits within Shelter’s Income Generation directorate. Individual Giving delivers a diverse and ambitious programme of work align to our organisational and directorate strategy, the team raises £26m of unrestricted income annually and is structured across these three core programmes:
- Supporter Retention and Development
- Supporter acquisition
- Direct Dialogue
Direct Dialogue is a vital driver of future income and supporter growth utilising a hybrid approach of in-house and agency led face to face recruitment. Ambitious targets, a new strategic plan and vision have recently been developed, setting a clear direction for future growth and impact.
