Our organisational income has grown consistently year on year since we registered in 2018. We now have a series of multi-year grants in place ensuring that 42% of our income for 2026 is already secured. We are looking to recruit a dynamic Head of Fundraising to lead and deliver income generation as we scale our work in the UK and globally.
This is a rare opportunity to work closely with the CEO and across programme teams to map out our annual fundraising plan, craft compelling cases for support, develop funder relationships, with an aim to securing our funding base year on year.
Position: Head of Fundraising
Responsible to: Chief Executive Officer
Based at: Our offices in New Malden KT3 with some remote/home working. We will be as flexible as possible to accommodate the right candidate.

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 FTE + 5% eligible pension.

About you:

Work closely with Chief Executive to:
- Develop our annual organisational fundraising strategy and fundraising action plan;
- Draft fundraising targets and KPIs based on current income levels and our delivery plans for 2026;
- Lead and coordinate all CNK fundraising activity from Trusts and Foundations, corporates and individual supporters;
- Build relationships with major donors, corporates, charitable Trusts and Foundations and other institutional funders;
- Ensure all fundraising meets the Code of Fundraising Practice, safeguarding standards, GDPR compliant and CNK’s values; and
- Report quarterly on fundraising progress to Chief Executive and Board of Trustees

This is a new role working within Battersea’s Income Generation department to develop and deliver the campaign plan for a £4-6million pound capital fundraising appeal.
One of the key pillars of Battersea’s current strategy is to ensure that we continue to provide expert care for all the dogs and cats that come through our gates. One of the ways in which we do this is by investing in our facilities to ensure that they continue to meet the changing needs of the animals we care for. This fundraising campaign will help to achieve that aim.
You will work with teams across Battersea to develop a comprehensive plan for the campaign and co-ordinate the work of multiple specialist teams to deliver the campaign on a day-to-day basis. You will also be responsible for developing a clear governance structure for the campaign, and ensuring all stakeholders are kept informed of progress. You will also oversee and track progress of a series of internal process improvements that support the running of the campaign.
Please note, this is not a direct fundraising position, but will support our fundraising teams in delivering ambitious financial targets for the appeal.

This national charity focus on improving the lives of people facing financial hardship in later life. Their helpline and expert advisers offer free, practical support to older people without enough money to live on. Through their grants programme, they support hundreds of local organisations working directly with older people across the UK.
As the Trusts and Foundations Manager, you will be responsible for leading, developing, and delivering the organisations Trusts and Foundations fundraising. This will involve line managing and working with a Senior Trusts Officer to continue securing grants of £50k and personally led on donors capable of giving £50k to £1m+. Looking to build upon existing relationships and developing new relationships with trusts and foundations, this role will focus on multi-year funding and long-term relationships.
To be successful as the Trust and Foundations Manager you will have proven experience of securing six figure gifts from trusts and foundations. This person will also have evidence of growing income from trusts and foundations and ideally have line managed others before. They will be passionate about the work of Independent Age and be excited to join an ambitious team.
This is a permanent and full-time role with a salary of £46,227 (office based and hybrid) or £41,607 (home-based). This organisation offer a range of flexible working arrangements, from a 9-day fortnight and flexible working hours to hybrid working. The Role
Working closely with the Head of High Value Relationships and line managing an excellent Senior Officer who manages a strong pipeline of lower level trust donors to secure the team target of £700k
Build an ambitious portfolio of funders by securing predominantly six to seven figure multi-year funding from trusts and foundations.
Oversee and personally undertake detailed prospect research, ensuring pipelines continue to build with new funders.
Ensure existing funders are stewarded, retained, and grown through first class cultivation plans and excellent account management.
The Candidate
Demonstrable experience of successfully securing a programme of six figure+ gifts from trusts & foundations.
Demonstrable experience of personally writing compelling proposals that have led to significant gifts.
Experience of personally managing productive relationships with existing major funders (at the six figure+ level).
Ideally previous line management experience.
