This exciting new project has emerged following consultation and engagement work in 2025 across central government, Local Authorities, regional London-wide partners, Young Camden, Young Brent and Young Westminster Foundations, and the local voluntary sectors.
The result is an innovative, co-funded project, seeking to work in new ways for the benefit of young people at risk of serious youth violence in this part of NW London. This role will coordinate all aspects of the management of this programme, driving high quality delivery and outcomes.
The focus of this collaboration is to tackle Serious Youth Violence and promote youth safety across the stretch of NW London from Kilburn High Road (Brent & Camden), through Queen’s Park (Brent & Westminster) which covers three boroughs. This part of London has been a hotspot for serious youth violence for many years, for young people both based in these communities and passing through. Tackling the issues in this part of North West London has always been a challenge, as the area is split across Local Authority lines. The area also features high levels of serious violence involving young people, both committing offences and also being victims of them (often interlinked). This is coupled with high levels of poverty and inequality, and also features relatively fewer youth opportunities than elsewhere in these boroughs.
As part of the project, the Local Authorities of each area are contributing funds over the next three years to fund collaborative and cross-borough projects that will support the safety of children and young people in this community. The project is funded by John Lyon’s Charity.
The project recognises that many of the challenges in this part of London are structural, but is motivated by the hope that key partners working together in new and different ways can help to breakdown some of the barriers that interrupt effective intervention and prevention.
The project does not seek to reinvent the wheel, and instead seeks to leverage the existing connections, expertise, partnerships and projects already happening within local areas.

Role Description
The Funding and Insights Officer supports the Head of Funding and Partnerships (HFP) in delivering HACT’s fundraising and income generation objectives in line with the organisation’s business strategy. This role focuses on identifying new business and funding opportunities, conducting market, sector and competitor research, and generating actionable insights to support HACT’s marketing, customer engagement, and income generation strategies.
The postholder will play a key role in shaping HACT’s understanding of the external environment, including trends in housing, social impact, and innovation. Reporting to the HFP, they will contribute to fundraising applications to trusts, foundations, and corporates, support the services team in developing compelling and proposals for HACT’s research and consultancy work, and carry out desk-based market research to inform the activities of the marketing and customer teams.
The role requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while prioritising effectively to meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct market, sector and competitor research to identify trends, opportunities, and risks relevant to HACT’s programmes and services
- Produce intelligence reports and briefings to inform marketing campaigns, customer outreach, and strategic planning
- Identify and assess potential funders, partners, and clients aligned with HACT’s mission and services
- Support the HFP in preparing proposals, funding applications, and sponsorship pitches
- Support the HFP to produce compelling performance and evaluation reports for funders and other donors
- Maintain and update a bank of proposal templates and sector insights
- Support the services team in the development of professionally written proposals
- Collaborate with marketing and customer teams to target organisations and contacts for campaigns
- Use CRM systems to track business development activities, monitor proposal and funding application progress, and report key metrics
- Maintain accurate records of engagement, income, and pipeline development

The Candidate:

- Excellent understanding of finance systems and data flow across diverse systems, including CRM integration.

About the Role

This position is a permanent full-time post (40 hours per week) which will be office based in Cadets Branch, HQ Regional Command in Aldershot, however significant homeworking will be permitted. The starting salary for the post will be £32,600 per annum.

ACCT UK is a national youth charity dedicated to improving the life chances of young people. The Combined Cadet Force Association (CCFA) is a charity dedicated to the promotion of the ideals and activities of the Combined Cadet Force in schools. Together, in both charities we want to ensure that every young person has the opportunity to learn new skills, build confidence and be inspired through their cadet experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES (abridged - see attached JD)
Hub Leadership & Delivery
• Lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of London Hub sessions.
• Manage referrals, onboarding and attendance using OSH’s CRM.
• Oversee safeguarding and risk assessments for all hub activity.
• Coordinate volunteers, facilitators and logistics to ensure smooth sessions.
• Promote OSH activities and support recruitment of participants.
Youth Leadership & Volunteers
• Support progression into OSH’s Leadership Training Programme.
• Create meaningful leadership and volunteering opportunities.
• Build a local group of volunteers and support their development.
Partnerships & Community
• Maintain relationships with referrers, partners and local organisations.
• Ensure smooth movement of participants between OSH programmes.
• Represent OSH at sector events and in London networks.
Safeguarding, Systems & Administration
• Maintain accurate registration, data and safeguarding records.
• Ensure GDPR-compliant data handling.
• Manage petty cash and reimbursements responsibly.
Contribution to OSH Nationally
• Join national events and residentials (2–5 nights).
• Share stories and insights to support communications and fundraising.
