As a UK-wide organisation the work of the Chair will be largely home-based (including video conferencing), but face-to-face meetings and liaison with other organisations may be required at times.

The Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) serves people who want to handle conflict well without using or suffering violence, whether physical or psychological. What will you be doing?
The overall role of the chair is to lead the Board as it sets strategic direction and oversees the good governance of the charity. You will be responsible for ensuring that the organisation is following correct governance and meeting its charitable obligations.
This is an active role, where time will need to be invested regularly outside of meetings to support this small charity.

We are seeking a new Secretary to undertake administrative duties to support the board of trustees of the African Bird Club in fulfilling its responsibility for the good governance of the charity and in delivering its strategy. The African Bird Club is dedicated to conserving birds and their habitats across the continent of Africa and related islands and furthering ornithology in this region. This culminates each year with Know Your Numbers Week! in September, a week-long campaign with a range of partners for people to understand their blood pressure numbers with advice and guidance of how to make vital changes to their lifestyles to change it.
Our Team
Blood Pressure UK currently have a staff team of three (two who are part-time). We contract an external accounting company to provide financial services to the charity including annual accounts, monthly management accounts, payroll, invoice creation and book keeping, making sure the charity complies with relevant governance for the charity commission and companies house.

Position Overview:
The Spiritual Arts Foundation is seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Charity Administrator / Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of charity law and regulations in the UK, along with extensive practical experience in setting up charities, Community Interest Companies (CICs), and Companies Limited by Guarantee (CLGs). In addition to possessing exceptional organizational and project management skills, the candidate should also have a genuine interest in spiritual subjects and a passion for making a difference in the world.
Responsibilities:
You will be required to:
- Provide expert guidance and support in the setup and registration of charities, CICs, and CLGs, ensuring compliance with relevant UK legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Consult with our legal team on the preparation of legal documentation, including governing documents, constitutions, and articles of association.
- Assist in the establishment of appropriate governance structures, and work with our HR team regarding the recruitment and training of trustees and board members.
- Assist our management and accounting teams to choose optimal bank accounts and obtain the necessary financial services for new charitable entities.
- Consult with our fundraising team to help implement our strategies for fundraising, donor engagement, and income generation.
- Offer strategic advice on staffing requirements, recruitment processes, and employment contracts.
- Help us to identify potential risks and opportunities associated with charity setup and operation.
- Keep abreast of changes in charity law, regulations, and best practices, and ensure that organizational policies and procedures remain up to date.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to achieve organizational objectives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven experience in setting up charities, CICs, or CLGs in the UK, including a comprehensive understanding of the legal and regulatory framework.
- Knowledge of charity law, tax regulations, governance principles, and financial management practices.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment, fostering a culture of trust and respect.
- Genuine interest in spiritual subjects and a commitment to promoting values of compassion, empathy, and social responsibility.

The Photographic Collections Network (PCN) is seeking an interim Treasurer with expertise in accountancy and/or charity finance and reporting to join our board of Trustees.
We are on the journey to becoming a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), and this will bring great opportunities for us to expand our reach and provide support for the UKs photographic collections and heritage. We are looking for people to help us to build this potential so we can better deliver on our aims. Are you the person that can help lead this change?
You will oversee the financial matters of the Photographic Collections Network in line with good practice and in accordance with the governing document and legal requirements, and report to the Board of Trustees at regular intervals about the financial health of the organisation. The interim Treasurer will ensure that effective financial measures, controls and procedures are put in place, and are appropriate for the charity.

Job requirements:
Our ideal candidate for the interim Treasurer would have accountancy qualification or an equivalent level of experience and expertise in accountancy and charity finance and reporting. A person working in Finance, Governance, Legal, with Charity experience either through an executive or previous Trustee role would be suitable. The candidate Ideally would have professional experience with organisational Governance and Financial management. A background in the photography or understanding of collections sector is not necessary but an enthusiasm and interest in the charitable sector is.
