The Greenhouse Christian Centre is seeking to appoint a new Trustee to join our strong and committed Board. For over 70 years, the Greenhouse has offered Christ-centred hospitality, retreats, and teaching in a warm and prayerful residential environment. Our ministry continues to grow, serving more than 3,000 guests each year with a distinctive blend of welcome, worship, and spiritual refreshment.

We are looking for someone who shares our Christian faith and values, and who brings senior-level experience within a Christian residential or retreat-centre context. The role includes offering support and guidance to our Centre Director and contributing to the ongoing development of the ministry.

You will join a capable Board who care deeply about the mission and who work closely with the leadership team. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who understands the heartbeat of Christian residential ministry and wants to invest in a work that is bearing fruit.

Equality in Tourism is now going through a period of change, including some financial growth and are looking for a conscientious individual, committed to women’s equality, to join our Board of Trustees as Treasurer.

The Treasurer will oversee the financial matters of the charity in line with good practice and in accordance with the governing document and legal requirements, and report to the Board of Trustees at regular intervals about the financial health of the organisation. Principal responsibilities:

 · Overseeing, approving and presenting budgets, accounts, financial statements and financial reports to the Board of Trustees after discussion with the Directors

· Being assured that the financial resources of the organisation meet its present and future needs and are within the charitiy’s objects

Main duties:

· Liaising with the directors about financial matters

· Ensuring that appropriate accounting procedures and controls are in place

· Advising on the financial implications of the organisation's strategic plans and assisting with appropriate budgeting/forecasting

· Liaising with the charity’s auditors where appropriate

· Ensuring equipment and assets are adequately maintained and insured

· Making a formal presentation of the accounts at the annual general meeting and drawing attention to important points in a coherent and easily understandable way

 Person specification

Third Sector Leaders (TSL) Kirklees exists to strengthen, connect, and champion the voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) sector across the Kirklees district.

The European Network on Statelessness (ENS) is a civil society alliance of organisations and individuals working to promote the right to a nationality in Europe. Our network brings together over 180 members in more than 40 countries. Since establishing in 2012, we have been dedicated to raising awareness about statelessness and the right to a nationality, supporting legal and policy development, and building civil society’s capacity to act. Progressive Farming Trust is looking for new board members

Progressive Farming Trust is a charity working to advance collective knowledge and practice in environmentally sensitive and organic farming.

We focus on three main areas:

• Enhancing knowledge exchange, education, and training that drive on-farm action
• Supporting farm businesses to adopt more resilient and sustainable models
• Strengthening shorter, fairer supply chains that empower both farmers and consumers

To help deliver these priorities we run:

• Agricology, a free information hub where farmers and growers can access practical guidance about sustainable agriculture
• Dean Organic Fund, offering small interest free loans to organic farmers

Established in 1980, the Trust has a long history of supporting progressive farming. For many years we worked as the Organic Research Centre, and following a de-merger in September 2025, we have refocused our activities and are now developing a new strategy to guide our future work.

Founded in 1997, the Islington Centre for Refugees and Migrants provides a place for refugees, migrants, and people seeking asylum to rebuild their life with support and community. From classes to casework to financial assistance, the Centre has a wide offering available for our community of over 200 people. Our approach is compassionate and human and the support we offer is long term - on average people stay with us around four years.

The current Board brings a wide range of charity and public body experience including strategy and fundraising and we are looking for skills to both enhance and complement these strengths.

The Centre has a dedicated and talented staff team led by our CEO, Andy Ruiz Palma, who joined in 2000 as an English teacher. We are open to applications from people looking for their first Trustee role or who may not have considered being a Trustee before and will provide mentoring to help trustees find their feet.

Carers UK is the national membership charity for the millions of people in the UK who are unpaid carers. Thurgoland Out of School Club is a small charity that provides childcare to meet the local communities requirements. They offer complete daytime care for infants from the age of 6 weeks old, through to out of school care for children up to the age of 11 years.

TOOSC are a vital and much valued part of the beautiful rural village community in Thurgoland, providing support for families for 50 weeks of the year between 7.30am to 6pm.

The Role

The Person

As a Trustee you will be legally responsible for the charity, therefore we are looking for someone who can demonstrate exceptional judgement, integrity and reliability. You must have the ability to provide strategic advice and contribute to long-term planning. An accountancy qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA etc.) would be desirable.

You will ideally have knowledge of the Charity Commission’s requirements and charity finance structures, or be willing to learn. A flair for presenting complex financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues and working effectively with the board of trustees is essential.

AMR Action UK (formerly Antibiotic Research UK) is the UK Patient Organisation for Antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Its legitimacy to advocate for patients, with policy-makers and with NHS systems, comes from its insight, and therefore through its patient support services, patient-focussed research and direct patient and public engagement activities.

The organisation is at an exciting stage of its development. Following the appointment of a new Chief Executive in late 2024 it has a new strategy in place and by greatly increasing its impact over the next 3 years intends to significantly reduce the harm from AMR across all four nations of the United Kingdom. The charity is also committed to expanding its services to meet the growing demand from patients and families directly impacted by AMR. This growth will be underpinned by a new name and new brand, a fresh approach to communications that will greatly increase awareness of the charity’s work with the UK public, and a new fundraising strategy that will both grow and diversify income and also increase sustainability.

The charity is now looking for a dynamic new Chair of Trustees who is excited by our plans, and by the difference this will make to peoples’ lives. Given the growth agenda for the period 2025-28, the suitable candidate at this point in time is likely to come from a commercial background, with a strong understanding of strategy, investment, business development, and communications in the context of a rapidly changing environment. They are also likely to have a track-record of successfully managing risk v reward in a growing business. Increasing donations from corporates and philanthropists is important to the charity at this stage in its development and the new Chair will be comfortable operating in these environments.

A key part of the role will be to support the new senior executive team charged with delivering the growth agenda, including establishing and maintaining a strong working relationship with the CEO.

This is a fully remote role, but the successful candidate must live in the UK. You would be expected to attend 1 strategy away day per year, and also to support the CEO in in-person meetings in London as and when required.

Dougie Mac Hospice is looking to appoint new Trustees to join our Board and support the effective leadership, governance and long-term sustainability of our organisation.

For over 50 years, Dougie Mac has provided specialist, compassionate care for local people living with life-limiting conditions. Today, we are a multi-faceted, all-age hospice supporting children, young people, adults and families across Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire. With over 500 staff, 700 volunteers, and an annual cost of more than £23 million, strong governance has never been more important.

We are seeking individuals who share our commitment to our values — Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence — and who can bring insight, challenge and support to help us deliver our vision of being a centre of excellence in palliative and end-of-life care.

About us

We’re part of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets, a national youth organisation empowering 12- to 20-year-olds through flying, adventure training, sports, and leadership development.

West Mercian Wing supports over 900 cadets across 27 Squadrons in Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Shropshire, the Black Country, and overseas in Cyprus.

Each squadron has a committee, a team of trustees who support the squadron by overseeing governance, fundraising, and building community partnerships. Trustees are vital in ensuring squadrons can continue providing incredible opportunities for cadets.

Why become a trustee?

Volunteering as a trustee isn’t just about helping others - it’s about growing yourself too!

What’s involved?

Meetings are structured but friendly, typically every three months for around two hours. A typical agenda includes:

• Updates from the Chairperson, Treasurer, and Squadron Commander
• Funding requests and financial decisions
• Future planning, upcoming events, and key priorities
• Opportunities to contribute based on your skills and interests

Beyond meetings, involvement is flexible depending on your availability and expertise.

What we’re looking for

We welcome all backgrounds and skill levels, but we’d particularly love to hear from those with experience in:

• Fundraising
• Governance & charity compliance
• Corporate partnerships

No military background or youth work experience is required—just enthusiasm, reliability, and a passion for making a difference!

Opportunities for progression

Trustees can take on leadership roles within their squadron, support squadrons at sector or wing level, or even contribute to regional and national RAF Air Cadets governance. Some trustees also transition into squadron volunteer roles, working directly with cadets.

To join us, you’ll need to

• Be 20 years or older
• Have lived in the UK for at least 3 years
• Attend an evening meeting every three months (varies by squadron)
• Bring enthusiasm, reliability, and a willingness to support young people.

Typical joining process:

1. Submit an expression of interest.
2. We’ll invite you to visit your chosen squadron to learn more.
3. Complete a simple online application if invited.
4. Undergo a DBS and background check.

This process usually takes a few weeks, depending on availability and checks.
