Job description

Are you an experienced educator, trainer, or curriculum developer passionate about empowering young people? Do you believe in creating engaging and impactful learning experiences that truly transform lives?

REMIX is a dynamic new charity on a mission to "remix young lives" from disadvantaged backgrounds across London. We aim to guide, mentor, and inspire young people through positive role modelling, comprehensive personal development, and vital employability skills. We're currently in our crucial set-up phase, designing the core programmes that will drive our impact.

We are seeking a dedicated Volunteer for Programme Design & Curriculum Development to help us craft the high-quality content that will empower young people. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise directly to our mission, ensuring our programmes are innovative, relevant, and deeply impactful.

Who We're Looking For

We need a creative and strategic thinker with a strong background in education or programme development. You'll likely possess:

  • Curriculum Development Expertise: Proven experience in designing, developing, and structuring educational programmes, workshops, or training modules.

  • Youth Development Knowledge: A deep understanding of the unique learning needs and challenges faced by young people, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

  • Engaging Content Creation: Ability to design activities, materials, and learning pathways that are interactive, relevant, and inspiring for young audiences.

  • Monitoring & Evaluation Mindset: Experience in building in clear learning outcomes and methods to measure programme effectiveness from the outset.

  • Safeguarding Awareness: An understanding of how to integrate safeguarding principles into programme design to ensure the well-being of participants.

  • Collaborative Spirit: Ability to work effectively with Trustees, future mentors, and other volunteers to refine ideas and content.

  • Passion for Social Change: A genuine commitment to REMIX's mission and empowering young people.

Your Role as Programme Design & Curriculum Development Volunteer

In this vital set-up phase, you will be instrumental in:

  • Designing Core Programmes: Developing the structure and content for our key offerings, including:

    • The mentoring curriculum: Guidance for mentors and development pathways for mentees.

    • Personal development workshops: Modules on life skills, emotional intelligence, resilience, and critical thinking.

    • Employability training: Sessions covering CV writing, interview skills, career exploration, and professional etiquette.

  • Creating Learning Materials: Developing engaging resources, handouts, activities, and guides for both participants and facilitators.

  • Defining Learning Outcomes: Establishing clear, measurable objectives for each programme and workshop.

  • Integrating Best Practices: Ensuring our programmes reflect current best practices in youth development, education, and social mobility.

  • Building Evaluation Metrics: Helping to design how we will measure the success and impact of our programmes.

  • Reviewing Content: Providing expert feedback and refinement on programme ideas and materials.

What We Offer

  • The unique chance to design the core offerings of a brand-new charity, directly shaping its future impact.

  • An incredible opportunity to apply your educational expertise to a profound social cause.

  • Collaboration with a passionate and strategic Board of Trustees.

  • The satisfaction of creating transformative learning experiences that will genuinely "remix young lives."

This is a voluntary role, requiring an estimated commitment of approximately 4-8 hours per week for a period of estimated duration, 6-9 months to help us build our initial programme frameworks. We are flexible and can work around your availability.

Ready to Design a Brighter Future with REMIX?

If you are a creative and experienced programme developer eager to make a lasting difference, we'd love to hear from you.

Help us design the pathways to success that will "remix young lives" across London!
