Colostomy UK is a national charity that offers support and advice to people who have had stoma surgery (ostomates) and those who care about them. We help ostomates to return to sports, hobbies and other activities after surgery, and give them the confidence to return to a full life and take on fresh challenges. Our campaigns raise awareness of life with a stoma and encourage organisations to make their facilities more inclusive.

About the role:

As the Fundraising Executive you will work to grow income through developing our community engagement, attracting, building and managing relationships with a range of supporters (individual donors and fundraisers, community groups, local businesses, volunteers etc). You will lead on the stewardship of events and challenges, including our annual Step Up campaign, by supporting individuals and groups to raise funds through fundraising activities. The post-holder will also support the recording of donations, send appropriate acknowledgements, review fundraising materials, and prepare fundraising content for social media, our website and our quarterly magazine, Tidings. The right candidate will be in a prime position for career progression as we grow our small team.

Core role responsibilities

 · Working alongside the Fundraising Manager to implement the fundraising strategy, with a focus on building unrestricted income

· Donor stewardship, including recording and thanking for donations, and other supporter communications, to encourage long-term, repeat support – engaging existing supporters, making them feel valued, proud, and committed to supporting the charity

· Working with our supporters to organise and host interesting activities and events in the community and digitally, to significantly increase fundraising income; ensuring excellent support of their activities during planning and delivery, and arranging attendance from the Colostomy UK team and volunteers as appropriate

· Representing and raising the profile of the organisation externally by giving presentations and promoting the need for fundraising among different audiences

· Working with the Marketing & Social Media Executive to ensure fundraising is included in our public-facing communications, to supporters and audiences on social media, in newsletters and on other channels; ensuring our website, social media channels and print material are kept up to date with fundraising news and activities that inspire engagement and giving

The Fundraising Co-Ordinator will raise the profile and awareness of Young Bristol and working with the Head of Fundraising develop a fundraising work plan to qualify and develop a range of key funding streams. The post holder will help to develop and ensure the effective delivery of the fundraising plan in line with Young Bristol’s strategy. Centre 33 is looking to recruit an Development & Partnerships Lead, with a significant amount of experience working in an income generation and/or partnerships role, preferably within a charity. With a track record of successfully engaging in either grant making organisations and/or corporate givers, securing high-value relationships which will be an integral part of the Centre 33 Fundraising team.

Your role will be to deliver excellent communication and presentation skills with a persuasive style, both written and verbal. You will be a part of a team providing a meaningful, collaborative and sustained relationships with funders and prospective donors which grow to create new opportunities to positively impact young people.

You will have a wide-ranging ability to research and understand complex information and issues from difference perspectives and succinctly articulate these to inspire funding.

By listening to funders and sharing your findings with the Fundraising team, you will support Centre 33 to embed and develop a more meaningful impact in line with the organisations strategic plan.

You will be based in one of our hubs across Cambridgeshire, but will have willingness to travel locally and occasionally further afield to meet funders. Given the rural nature of Cambridgeshire, the successful candidate would benefit from having a driving licence and access to their own car.

Schoolreaders was launched ten years ago in Bedfordshire with the aim of recruiting volunteers to provide one-to-one reading support for children in primary schools across the country. Arts Emergency – Head of Fundraising 

Location: Home or office based - London N4 or Manchester M1.

Arts Emergency, a mentoring charity and support network aiming to address the inequalities in the creative and cultural sectors, is looking for an experienced and motivated fundraiser to provide leadership and management for fundraising activities. 

Since 2013, Arts Emergency has been providing 16-25 year olds in London, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and beyond with a trained mentor working in their field of interest. Mentors help Young Talent set goals, explore their passions and make decisions about higher education, training and careers.  After they complete a year of mentoring, Young Talent can continue to access opportunities, advice, resources and paid work from the Arts Emergency Network until they turn 26. The network is made up of thousands of cultural professionals who’ve all offered to share crucial gateways into hard to crack industries like TV, publishing and architecture with young people.

This position will be responsible for raising the necessary income to ensure Arts Emergency’s high-quality, person focused, asset-based services for young people are sustainably funded and can

scale. This is a new role that reports to the Director of Fundraising & Marketing, overseeing a diverse income portfolio including individual giving, major donors, trusts and foundations, corporate donations, commercial income and community fundraising. The Head of Fundraising will have a particular focus on managing and growing the charity’s income from individuals and organisations, with an aim to increase overall fundraising to £1.25m in 2026.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Philanthropy 

• Lead, develop and implement a Business Growth strategic plan that brings a mix of

• Reporting to the Director and Board of Trustees on the strategy and delivery of the ICA’s 
  business growth with the ability to flex and respond effectively when variances arise

Team Management

• Play an active and highly collaborative role as a full member of both the Executive 
  Leadership Team and Senior Leadership Team

The Head of Omnichannel and Customer Experience is accountable for leading Scope's ecommerce business into our next stage of growth and turning this into a future significant income stream for the charity.

We are looking for an experienced fundraiser, to lead on Neuroscience related fundraising for the Departments of Psychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences as part of the friendly team working across the Medical Sciences Division at the University of Oxford.

The Medical Sciences Division at Oxford has been ranked number one in the world for the last twelve years in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for clinical, pre-clinical and health sciences. Recent accomplishments of the Medical Sciences Division include its research into the COVID-19 pandemic, most notably through the delivery of the Oxford–AstraZeneca vaccine, which is estimated to have saved over 6 million lives.

About the role:

This fundraiser will work closely with the Heads of Departments and academics in the Departments of Psychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences. The post will focus primarily on funding for research, academic posts, scholarships and infrastructure related to Neuroscience which includes Mental Health and neurological disease (e.g. Motor Neurone Disease, Dementia, Parkinson’s, Stroke and Epilepsy). The fundraiser will work on special projects including the possible major capital redevelopment of the Warneford site. While an interest in medical research and neuroscience is essential, you do not need to be a sciences graduate, just an enthusiast for knowledge.

You are an experienced development professional with a strong track record of securing major gifts, a confident approach and the ability to think creatively. You will lead on major gift fundraising (£100k-£1m+) working with a range of donors (corporates, trusts and individuals).

Key Tasks

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all high value fundraising activity, including proposals, applications, and donor interactions, and be able to regularly report this activity back to the Head of Philanthropy.

• Manage a portfolio of low-mid level prospects and existing donors, developing clear strategies to cultivate relationships and secure continued philanthropic support of £1,000 to £10,000. Ensure all donors in the assigned portfolio are provided stewardship and take responsibility for contacts and annual work plan.

• Develop and deliver a programme of cultivation, stewardship and recognition low-mid level donors and prospects, proactively seeking opportunities to improve the chances of securing repeat gifts through bespoke communications and consistent stewardship.

• Support the Head of Philanthropy and wider High Value Team with stewardship and cultivation of donors and key contacts. These activities may include virtual events, stewardship events, proposal development, annual reporting, and direct marketing appeals.

• Ensure the upkeep of a database and filing system for all existing and prospective donors within High Value Giving liaising with the Finance and Administrative team to ensure reconciliation with financial record.

• Work closely with the Philanthropy team and other colleagues to maximise all opportunities and support a dynamic, successful, and professional team

• Ensure that data security is maintained and that legal and regulatory requirements are fully complied with.

• Undertake other tasks, when necessary, to achieve the team’s and the organisation’s overall objectives.

 General

• Managing a complex workload with competing demands and deadlines. The role holder will agree objectives and overall priorities with the Head of Philanthropy but is expected to manage unexpected/unplanned work within overall timeframes.

• The post holder is required to work closely and collaboratively with colleagues within the Fundraising Team to ensure the successful delivery of fundraising activities.

• The post holder will require excellent communication and interpersonal skills as you will need to communicate effectively and sensitively, building strong relationships with existing and potential donors.

Experience

Essential

• Experience with interacting and developing relationships with supporters or customers using a variety of channels written and verbal.

• Ability to communicate in writing and orally in a succinct and engaging manner.

• Ability to deal with information in a confidential manner and respond with sensitivity.

• Ability to confidentially deal with all levels of staff and internal/external key stakeholders with integrity.

• Strong attention to detail

• Ability to work weekends/evenings on occasion to support events and other activities and willingness to travel within the UK as needed to support fundraising activities (most often travel to the London-based officer)

Desirable

• Experience developing and managing relationships with fundraisers and other stakeholders.

Skills and Knowledge

• Excellent organisational skills.

• A high level of enthusiasm, self-motivation and flexible approach.

• The ability to take initiative and work independently to manage pieces of work, including taking responsibility for managing projects.

 Priorities

• Taking over an existing portfolio of £1,000-£10,000 existing donors, responsible for stewardship (mid-level giving) including members of the Women’s Giving Circle

• Supporting gift recording, recognition and management across high value giving

• Opportunities to gain experience in corporate, major donor and trust and foundations through supporting more experienced colleagues working on 5 and 6 figure partnerships

The role will work across both businesses following their partnership agreement in January 2023. Both businesses are steeped in the history of Birmingham, with the origins of The Yardley Great Trust Group going back to the 14th Century and SJMT’s beginnings in 1868. The Finance Director role would ideally start swiftly and will take on a largely strategic direction whilst still requiring operational input.

Based in Olton, candidates with experience in a senior leadership role in finance whilst holding an understanding of how charities, housing providers or public sector organisations work will be highly advantageous.

The Finance Director post will cover many facets including, but not limited to:

Executive Leadership

• Working with the executive team to develop and manage the delivery of robust corporate, strategic and financial business plans
• Demonstrating positive leadership behaviours and bringing values to life within the organisational culture
• Effectively planning and providing for the resources required to action strategic and operational plans
• Undertaking quarterly reviews of the Charity's Risk Registers, reporting on major risks and mitigations at each Board meeting.

Financial Strategy and Control

• Leading on the delivery of strategic and annual financial business plans, ensuring viability is regularly tested through scenario modelling, appraisals, and stress tests
• Taking responsibility for annual budget and management accounts processes and preparation of statutory accounts
• Maintaining up-to-date reserves policies that meet the requirements of both the Charity SORP and RSL SORP
• Managing relationships with investment managers, ensuring regular review of performance and satisfaction
• Developing and maintaining effective systems of financial control that ensure that business plans are continually reviewed and reported on
• Maintaining overall responsibility for the computerised accounting system, including sales ledger, purchase ledger, cash book and nominal ledger

Treasury

• Being responsible for each Trust’s Treasury Management strategy and policy to ensure the availability of and flexibility of funding to support the achievement of strategic objectives and reduce exposure

Risk Management

• Leading on the development of risk management strategies and registers, audit frameworks, procedures and appraisal systems for capital projects and all other significant areas of risk.   

Growth and Innovation

• To support the Chief Executive in the development of the Strategic Business Plans in a way that supports innovation and growth in services

ICT / HR

• Leading on the development and delivery of an effective ICT and Telecoms Strategy which supports mobile and agile working and customer relationship management that underpins our drive for excellent business
• Supporting with the development, implementation and review of an effective People Strategy which supports the vision and values of each Trust
• Reviewing the administration of all statutory returns and sector-relevant returns/surveys
• Leading on the annual remuneration review to approve or decline and make recommendations for salary increases
• Taking responsibility for the outsourced payroll and workplace pension scheme
• Overseeing the relationship with the outsourced IT support provider, ensuring optimal support to staff and monitoring performance against contract

• Proven experience at a senior leadership level in a finance environment
