Job Description
Key responsibilities:
- Events Marketing
- To oversee the scheduling, production and distribution of promotional e-mails for our events. Liaise with comms team to promote events across AvMA media platform To work on the development of the events pages on the new AvMA web site. Ensuring event web pages are kept up-to-date. To carry out data analysis and web analytics to determine what people are responding to and to highlight the areas we may need to focus/re-focus.
Events Logistics & Management
- In conjunction with the Head of Events, to undertake the production and organisation of events, including inviting and liaising with speakers and arranging event logistics. Effective liaison with speakers, ensuring they have all the information required to participate in the event and providing deadlines for receiving their presentation and biography. To work on site at events as required and run smaller events on your own. Duties will involve setting-up and administering registration, liaising with the venue, greeting speakers and exhibitors, dealing with enquiries from delegates and making sure the event runs smoothly. Production of the online conference documentation, to include speaker presentations.
Research & Event Development
- Help identify and research potential subject areas on which we may want to run events. Keep a close eye on the medico-legal events sector market and other events taking place. Help identify potential new sponsors and exhibitors for our events.
Events CRM
- Develop a sound understanding of AvMA’s new CRM, ensuring we optimise it for the efficient and effective marketing of events.
- To assist if/as required with bookings and booking queries for AvMA’s events.
Other
- To support the Events Department’s quality initiatives and to suggest continuing improvements where needs arise.
- To undertake other duties commensurate with the post as may be required.
- Deputise for the Head of Events when necessary
Person Specification
Essential:
- An understanding of, and commitment to, the values and objectives of AvMA.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop effective and positive working relationships with a wide range of individuals and organisations.
- Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to manage and prioritise workload and meet targets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Confidence in liaising with speakers, sponsors and delegates.
- Experience of organising events and on-site management of events, including in-person and online events/webinars.
- Marketing copy writing ability, proof-reading skills, outstanding attention to detail.
- Experience of using e-mail marketing platforms (e.g. Dot Digital) and social media to promote events and maintaining event web pages.
- A high level of IT and digital literacy skills, including Office 365, Microsoft Dynamics and Adobe In Design
- Staying calm under pressure, a proactive and solutions focussed approach to problem-solving, ability to independently think on your feet.

Job purpose
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and organised candidate to join Clinks and play a key role in delivering our annual programme of events and training.
The Events and Training Officer will lead on the planning, coordination and delivery of Clinks’ busy calendar of member engagement activity, including online and in-person events, training sessions, and our flagship annual conference.
Events and training at Clinks are delivered collaboratively across teams, and the post-holder will help coordinate this programme while also taking an active role in delivery. They will ensure that Clinks’ events and training offer is high quality, accessible, well-promoted, and responsive to the needs of the voluntary sector working in criminal justice.
This role requires someone who is confident managing multiple priorities, working collaboratively across the organisation, and building strong relationships with external stakeholders.

1. Duties and key responsibilities
Events and Training Programme Coordination

Coordinate the delivery of Clinks’ annual programme of events and training, working with colleagues across the organisation to ensure a consistent, high-quality offer.

Manage the full event lifecycle, including planning, logistics, speaker and facilitator liaison, registration, delivery support and follow-up.

Act as the main point of contact for all events and training enquiries, providing excellent support to members, delegates and partners.

Ensure events are delivered in the most cost-effective way, to budget, and in line with Clinks’ internal processes.

Support staff across Clinks to deliver events and training sessions, including providing guidance, templates, systems support and coordination.

Promote all events and training opportunities through appropriate channels, working closely with communications colleagues.

Manage relationships with external facilitators and event partners to ensure smooth delivery and strong collaboration.

Monitor pricing and access to ensure smaller organisations are supported, while also contributing to Clinks’ income generation targets.

Annual Conference Planning and Delivery

Event & Engagement Coordinator
Remote based in North West England. Please note, the role requires working one day a week in Manchester.
Fixed term contract: initially 12 months with potential to extend.
Job Purpose:
To plan, coordinate, and deliver a range of local events across North West England, ensuring each event is well-organised, inclusive, and engaging for local communities. The Local Event Coordinator will collaborate closely with partners, local authorities, suppliers, volunteers, and members to deliver high-quality, unique and memorable experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage logistics for a variety of local member events, making sure all events are accessible and attractive to both existing and potential members.
- Liaise with relevant external and internal contacts such as venues, suppliers, CSSC’s ticketing platform, Head Office departments, and volunteers.
- Complete all relevant compliance work such as risk assessments and public liability checks.
- Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring value for money and accurate financial tracking.
- Promote events via social media, email campaigns, posters, and local press in collaboration with marketing teams.
- Manage and grow the North West’s CSSC TikTok presence, including content planning, filming, editing, posting, and community engagement.
- Demonstrate strong working knowledge of TikTok trends, algorithms, analytics, and best practices.
- Create engaging, on-brand short-form video content tailored to target audiences.
- Monitor performance metrics and use insights to optimise content strategy and increase reach and engagement.
- Stay up to date with emerging social media trends, tools, and platform updates.
- Show a genuine interest in communications, digital marketing, and social media strategy.
