Role Description
The Volunteer Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of meals in our kitchen. This includes following recipes, ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are met, and adapting menus to meet dietary requirements as needed. In this role, you’ll work as part of a team to ensure the smooth preparation of lunch for approximately 30-40 visitors at our centre, who have a variety of dietary needs. This role requires a commitment of 3 months.
Lunch preparation starts at 9:45am and lunch is served at 12pm on Mondays and Thursdays.

As a welcome desk volunteer, you will be the welcoming face of Magpas Air Ambulance at our exciting new base in Alconbury Weald.
You will greet visitors at the centre, addressing any needs whilst giving exceptional customer service. The East Kent Peer Support Service currently run group sessions for service users in Ashford, Dover and Folkestone.
The role of the Peer Support Volunteer is to provide additional support at our Peer Support group sessions. The reserve is over 500 acre of stunning habitats including wet grassland, reedbed, woodland and hedgerows. We manage each of the habitats to benefit the wildlife that relies on the reserve. 25% of wetland plants and animals are at risk. One of the best parts of volunteering on the reserve is seeing the results from the work we have done. This can be tawny owls using the boxes we’ve put up, Marsh Harriers nesting in the reedbed we managed or Common Terns nesting on the gravel we put out. We could not do this without volunteers.

This role involves:
· We survey everything at Martin Mere don’t worry if you are worried about your ID skills we can teach that but the role will involve counting birds, insects, plants etc.
· Lots of practical outdoor work is really varied and includes cutting down trees in the reedbed, cutting and raking the wildflower meadows and pulling Himalayan balsam.
· We love to explain to visitors what we are doing and explaining to them why we are surveying or cutting something.
· We have a herd of English Longhorn Cattle that are really important for managing the wet grasslands, the role involves check them and helping move them between fields.
· In the mornings we need to get the reserve ready for the visitors this involves opening the hides checking everything is in order, filling up the birdfeeders, looking for any exciting birds to put on the sightings pages.

Families who have been affected by children’s cancer come to our Family Support Centre, known as The Square, to access a variety of support services. We are currently on the hunt from some volunteers to help support our weekly Speak Out Central drop-ins.
Speak Out Central is a weekly drop-in for people with learning disabilities in the centre of Brighton, helping to prevent loneliness and social isolation. People get together over a cuppa at main office at the Brighthelm Centre between 2pm and 5pm every Tuesday. We aim to support people to be more involved in their local community and make connections with others at the drop-in and the wider community in the city.

We are looking for Volunteer Café Assistants to support our John Hall Wellness Gardens in Leek. You will be based at our new Cafe operation and, ideally, you will be able to commit 4 hours per week to volunteering.

About the service
John Hall Gardens is a Community Education Garden & Café green space for the community of Leek, local schools, colleges, and social enterprises. With the aim of enabling the local community to work/learn and socialise with people with mental and physical health support needs. This includes adults of all ages and children and young people.
Assisting the Café Supervisor and your fellow volunteers, you will play an integral part of John Hall Wellness Garden’s future, by helping to deliver a café experience for the general public, Friends of the Garden, and guests. What you will be doing as a Volunteer Café Assistant

- Danny (11) lives with foster carers and attends a special school. He would like an Independent Visitor to help him be more independent, he likes parks, aeroplanes, and animals.
