About the Role

We're looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Volunteer Coordinator to join our People team and play a key role in growing, supporting and celebrating our incredible volunteer community.

Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. As Volunteer Coordinator, you'll oversee the entire volunteer journey, from attraction and recruitment through to onboarding, development, engagement and recognition. What You'll Be Doing

• Manage the full volunteer lifecycle, including attraction, recruitment, onboarding, induction, training, engagement and recognition.
• Act as the first point of contact for volunteers, providing support, guidance and responding to queries and feedback.
• Partner with managers across the organisation to identify volunteer opportunities, develop meaningful roles and support effective volunteer management.
• Support initiatives to diversify our volunteer workforce and reduce barriers to volunteering.
• Build relationships with community organisations, education providers and local networks to increase volunteer engagement and attract new volunteers.
• Maintain accurate volunteer records, compliance documentation and reporting data, ensuring GDPR requirements are met.
• Coordinate volunteer communications, events, recognition activities and development opportunities to keep volunteers engaged and connected.
• Analyse volunteer data and key metrics, including volunteer numbers, retention and diversity information, using insights to drive continuous improvement.
• Work alongside the Head of People to develop and implement volunteering strategies that support organisational growth and impact.
• Support the wider HR and Recruitment team when required.

Frazzled is a mental health and wellbeing charity founded by Ruby Wax OBE. We provide free, facilitated peer support meetings for people feeling overwhelmed by the stresses of modern life.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for an organised, compassionate and proactive Programme Coordinator to help deliver and develop our programme of peer support meetings, while ensuring our volunteers feel confident, supported and connected.

Purpose of the role

The Programme Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of Frazzled's online and face-to-face peer support programme.

Working closely with the Head of Programmes, you'll oversee Frazzled’s meeting schedules, recruit and support volunteer facilitators, coordinate training and onboarding, carry out regular observations and contribute to the continuous improvement of our programme. You'll play a key role in ensuring our services are delivered safely, consistently and in line with the Frazzled model.

This is a varied hands-on role that combines excellent organisation with relationship building, volunteer development and continuous improvement. You'll be equally comfortable organising complex schedules, supporting volunteers through challenging situations and contributing ideas that help our programmes continue to grow while staying true to what makes Frazzled unique.

Frazzled runs meetings from early morning until late evening, seven days a week. As a core part of this role involves observing and supporting facilitators as issues arise, some evening and weekend work will therefore be required as well as regular travel to our face-to-face sites across England.

Programme Coordination

• Coordinate the delivery of Frazzled's programme of online and face-to-face peer support meetings.

Support Coordinator

We’re looking for an innovative, compassionate and professional person with strong communication and organisational skills to join the Stroke Recovery Service in Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

Position: 000012 Stroke Support Coordinator

Location: Home-based covering Herefordshire and Worcestershire. However, this role will require extensive travel across the delivery area. Travel will also be required for team meetings and other work-related meetings

Hours: Part-time, 28 hours per week

Salary: Circa £22,600 per annum (FTE circa £28,300 per annum)

Contract: This is a fixed-term contract until 31st March 2027. Services are contracted and there is currently funding for this contract until 31st March 2027

The Role

In this role, you’ll support stroke survivors and their families as they adjust to life after stroke. You’ll help identify their needs, provide personalised information, advice and support, and work with them to achieve the outcomes that matter most to them.

Reporting to the Stroke Service Delivery Coach, the Stroke Support Coordinator will:

· Support stroke survivors and carers as they move from hospital discharge back into the community.

Job summary

This role will predominantly support the Service Delivery Managers and Support Officer across the UK in the effective planning and delivery of wheelchair skills training to meet the strategic objectives. The postholder will be required to work directly with young people and their families, schools, colleagues, partner organisations and professionals, delivering accredited training across the UK.

The person

You will be part of the Young People’s Services Team who provide a range of services and activities for young wheelchair users and their families. You will have a friendly and professional approach to working with families and professionals and be highly organised to manage planning, delivery and relevant paperwork for all wheelchair skills services. 

Key accountabilities

• Coordination and delivery of wheelchair skills training, travel training and train the trainer across the UK.
• Conduct on site visits prior to delivery of travel training to plan routes and inform risk assessments.
• Book relevant modes of transport for travel training sessions.
• Writing Service Level Agreements for key partners; content providers and schools.
• Obtaining information from content providers and schools, such as Public Liability, DBS and key Risk Assessments.
• Writing Care Plans & Risk Assessments.
• Ensure schools complete paperwork for accredited services and liaise with Skills & Education group regarding learners
• Sending event invites to young people and families and updating the database as required.
• Updating all documentation for events and participants onto the database.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Outreach, Wheelchair Skills and Wider Engagement

· Engage the widest possible range of people with spinal cord injury to sign up for further contact with Back Up, through organising and/or delivering wheelchair skills training sessions and talks for patients and families at the spinal cord injury centre in the region, general hospitals and with other key partners or locations as identified.

· Coordinate, support and manage volunteer trainers who are helping to deliver sessions and talking to patients and families.

· Lead, sustain and develop strong and effective working relationships with a wide range of health professionals and other charity representatives e.g. through presentations, calls and meetings, to ensure that people access seamless support.

Proactive Contact with People Affected by Spinal Cord Injury

· Maintain and support relationships with a large number of people affected by SCI (adults, children and young people and their parents) through regular proactive contact. This could be in person in the spinal cord injury centre, other settings or through events, telephone contact or other interactions.

· Explore their feelings, wishes and needs and provide tailored peer support to help them feel supported, access relevant services from Back Up and elsewhere through proactive referrals, and become more aware of the possibilities of life after SCI.

Networking, Partnerships and Sustainability

· Develop and maintain a map of touchpoints in the region, where people with an SCI will come into contact.

· Develop partnerships, referral routes and signposting processes to develop reach beyond the spinal cord injury centre.

· Develop and manage a network of community ambassador volunteers to support the wider work and sustainability of Back Up through fundraising and other related activities.

· Take a lead on encouraging localised fundraising activity; working towards wider income targets that support ongoing sustainability.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

Amputee Network Development Officer – South West

The Amputee Network Development Officer will play a pivotal role in the LA realising its outreach aims in the region. About the role

Sands is the UK’s leading pregnancy and baby loss charity. We work to save babies’ lives and to ensure that anyone affected by pregnancy or baby loss receives the care and support they need.

We are looking for a compassionate, organised and collaborative Hospital Liaison Coordinator to support the delivery, embedding and sustainability of the National Bereavement Care Pathway in England.

This role will help strengthen Sands’ hospital liaison work by building, supporting and developing our network of Hospital Liaison Volunteers. Hospital Liaison Volunteers provide an important link between Sands, NHS services and local communities, helping hospital staff understand and access Sands’ support, training, resources and bereavement care guidance.

The postholder will work closely with volunteers, NHS staff and Sands colleagues to support high-quality, equitable bereavement care for bereaved parents and families. They will coordinate activity, monitor progress, gather feedback and insight, and help ensure learning from hospitals and volunteers informs continuous improvement across the NBCP England programme.

This is a role for someone who is highly organised, values-driven and confident working with people. You will bring experience of supporting volunteer networks, coordinating projects and building strong relationships with a range of stakeholders. You will also be able to communicate sensitively and clearly, work with feedback and evidence, and develop your understanding of bereavement care, maternity services and NHS systems.

Key responsibilities 

Support and develop the Hospital Liaison Volunteer network 

1. Develop, support and strengthen Sands’ network of Hospital Liaison Volunteers in England. 

2. Ensure Hospital Liaison Volunteers feel valued, confident and equipped to carry out their role effectively. 

3. Support the recruitment, induction, training and ongoing development of Hospital Liaison Volunteers. 

4. Provide regular communication, guidance and support to volunteers, including opportunities to share learning, raise questions and identify emerging issues. 

5. Work with colleagues to identify gaps in volunteer coverage and support plans to improve access to hospital liaison support across England. 

6. Help volunteers understand Sands’ bereavement care resources, training offer, NBCP England materials and wider support services. 

7. Support safe, consistent and appropriate volunteer involvement within hospital settings, recognising the sensitivity of bereavement care and the importance of confidentiality and professional boundaries. 

Support NBCP England implementation and hospital engagement 

1. Support NHS Trusts, maternity, neonatal, gynaecology and bereavement teams to understand, implement, embed and sustain the National Bereavement Care Pathway standards. 

2. Promote awareness and use of NBCP England resources, tools and guidance among hospital staff and volunteers. 

3. Help hospitals identify opportunities to strengthen bereavement care provision and reduce variation in families’ experiences. 

4. Support activities that help Trusts understand progress against NBCP standards, including self-assessment, evidence gathering, reflection and improvement planning. 

5. Work collaboratively with NHS staff, volunteers and Sands colleagues to support equitable, high-quality bereavement care for all families. 

6. Contribute to the development and delivery of practical resources, communications and support offers that help hospitals engage with NBCP England. 

Coordinate programme activity, monitoring and reporting 

1. Coordinate key elements of the NBCP England hospital liaison workplan, ensuring activity is well organised, timely and aligned with programme priorities. 

2. Manage multiple tasks and priorities, keeping clear records of activity, progress, risks and follow-up actions. 

3. Support the monitoring of outputs, outcomes and impact, including volunteer engagement, hospital reach, Trust activity and use of NBCP resources. 

4. Prepare updates, summaries and reports for Sands colleagues, programme leads and other relevant stakeholders. 

5. Use project coordination tools and systems to support planning, delivery, monitoring and evaluation. 

6. Contribute to measuring the difference made by hospital liaison activity and NBCP England support.

Our passionate Regional Casework Coordinators are SSAFA’s front line of support for members of the armed forces community in need. They are the first point of contact for all beneficiaries into the Regional Office, assessing needs and allocating the case to one of our volunteer caseworkers. 

You will sometimes handle complex problems from individuals who may be distressed, identifying the presenting and potential underlying needs to determine the best way to support the beneficiary.You will have ownership of cases from beginning to end, coordinating the casework process in a timely manner and ensure that the beneficiary journey is at the centre of the Service. You will have the opportunity to shape processes and procedures within the office which will lead to improvements in the service offered to clients.

To help you establish yourself in this new post you will receive excellent training and induction to SSAFA. 

Whilst the post is homebased, to be eligible for this role you are required to live in the South West region in Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire or Somerset. There will be occasional travel around the South West Region, and you will be required to travel for quarterly face to face team meetings. 

About the team 

The team work remotely and pride themselves in maintaining a close working bond which ensures the smooth operation of the office. You will work closely with volunteers from the eight SSAFA branches in the South West, supporting them to administer casework for SSAFA beneficiaries. The successful candidate will work as part of a larger team of 10, which includes two Regional Casework Managers and a Regional Operations Manager. 

About you 

To carry out this role successfully you will have a track record of providing welfare advice in key areas such as housing benefits, debt, disability, mobility or immigration issues. You will have knowledge of safeguarding and GDPR and experience in dealing with sensitive information and people in vulnerable situations. You will be able to provide excellent customer service by telephone, e-mail and face to face. You will have used Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard. It is important that you have experience of planning and managing your own workload, with minimal supervision.

 It would be advantageous if you have an understanding of the way of life for today’s Armed Forces, veterans and their families and if you have experience of recruiting and supporting volunteers. An understanding of the voluntary sector and preferably the military charity sector landscape across the South West would be valuable

About you

Do you want to use your skills to make it possible for people with myeloma to live longer and better lives?  We are looking for a Support Group Co-ordinator who will deliver the Myeloma UK Support Group Partnership programme in line with the organisation’s overall strategy.

You will have experience of working with support groups and/or volunteer networks as well as recruiting, training, managing and supervising a diverse range of staff or volunteers.  The post holder will need to show clear evidence of relationship building and working with underrepresented groups.  A key part of the role is understanding the needs of cancer patients and their families and of health inequalities.

You’ll have excellent relationship building skills and an understanding of the barriers that exist in accessing support. You will need the ability to set priorities, work under pressure with great attention to detail and understand and meet the training and development needs of volunteers. Experience of working with haematology or oncology patients and working with a database would be an advantage but not essential.

About the role

The Support Group Co-ordinator will be the first point of contact within the organisation for all Support Group enquiries. You will coordinate the Support Groups Partnership Programme activity, including developing and promotion of the existing Myeloma Support Groups and coordinate the recruitment, induction and ongoing support of new local groups to the Support Groups Partnership Programme

You will be responsible for working with local groups and other local network partners to increase the reach and impact of Myeloma UK, ensuring that partnered support groups operate in line with Myeloma UK guidelines and ensure that they receive consistent information, training and advice.

The post holder will maintain an awareness and understanding of all legislation that may be relevant to the role and develop, maintain and evaluate a training programme for Support Group Leaders as well as moderate and update the Support Group Leaders’ online hub on a regular basis.  You will lead the Support Groups’ responsibility for designing and delivering activities in line with our Partnership Agreement so that they are safe, effective and impactful as well as moderate.

The Outreach Officer plays a key role in raising awareness of services, strengthening community
