As a registered charity and non-profit organisation, BES is dedicated to advancing ecological science and promoting the importance of ecology in addressing global challenges. While our mission is rooted in ecology, you don’t need a background in the field to contribute, what matters most is the unique skills, perspectives, and experience you bring.
This is a unique opportunity to influence how we nurture, support, and empower our staff, ensuring our internal culture reflects the values and vision of BES. The Committee typically meets 3 times a year, with occasional additional input via email.

Our partner is an impactful women’s rights organisation working to empower women, offering them agency promoting gender equality in public policy. They are currently facing financial pressures and are seeking the support of an experienced finance professional, working alongside the Director of Operations.
Your role will be to:
- Assess their financial sustainability, reviewing existing financial analysis and cost recovery model, highlighting immediate areas of concern to address, and advising on how to continue operations.
- Evaluate core costs (including overhead and hosting fee costs) and identify what is affordable/a target overhead % for the organisation to maintain, and potential cost-saving opportunities
- Suggest actionable strategies to strengthen long-term financial health
- Help build a realistic and practical plan to address financial constraints

We have 250 local groups which play a vital part in supporting people affected by MS across the UK. They provide sense of belonging, unity and friendship. And they deliver services and support for their local MS community.
We are looking to recruit a Group Coordinator for our North Hertfordshire group. As our local Group Coordinator you’ll take the lead in making sure your local group works as effectively as possible. We are looking for an exceptional person to join Adoption UK’s Board of Trustees. We are looking for someone based in Northern Ireland with financial experience.
Adoption UK is the leading charity providing support, community, and advocacy for those who are unable live with their birth parents. Our purpose is to secure the right support at the right time for children and young people who are unable to live with their birth parents, from childhood into adulthood.
As a UK wide charity, we aim to have representation on our Board from all constituent nations, and across a variety of backgrounds and lived experience. At this time, we are particularly looking to appoint someone from Northern Ireland with financial expertise. Lived experience would be desirable, but not essential.
As a Trustee, you’ll have the opportunity to apply your unique skills and experience within our welcoming and dedicated Board. You will be expected to:

Oversee the implementation of Adoption UK’s strategy.

Support the senior leadership team, adding value and expert advice.

The Board of trustees meets four times a year – these meetings are a mix of virtual and in-person meetings. The annual time commitment is 5 days, plus preparation and reading time, with opportunities for deeper involvement in relevant areas of the charity’s work. You will be invited to Adoption UK events. The role is not remunerated but travel and expenses are paid.

Over past decades, enormous advances have been made in our understanding of MS. Research has got us to a critical point, and we can see a future where nobody needs to worry about their MS getting worse. Our Stop MS Appeal needs to raise £100 million to find treatments for everyone with MS.
Our Stop MS Champions help us reach more people and inspire them to get involved in our Stop MS Appeal by encouraging raising funds and awareness by delivering presentations, attending events and identifying new audiences to speak to. They inspire people to engage with and influence fundraisers and groups, enthuse people and make sure our community’s voice is heard.
As our Lead Stop MS Champion, you’ll motivate your team of Stop MS Champions to help reach more people and inspire them to get involved in our Stop MS Appeal.
By using your ability to motivate and support, you will oversee and lead a team of 5-10 Stop MS Champion volunteers, encouraging them to engage the people they know to raise funds and awareness, and provide reliable information and guidance.
You’ll also network to engage with and influence fundraisers and community groups, enthusing people by delivering presentations at events and finding new audiences to speak to. In this role, as well as developing your leadership, networking, influencing, communication, organisation and presentation skills, you’ll have a chance to be part of something amazing – you could help us stop MS.

ROLDA UK is registered charity that is dedicated to rescuing stray dogs in Romania, caring for them and ultimately finding them a forever home.
Foster Carer's are crucial in our adoption process - they allow us to offer a seamless aftercare system that supports dogs if their initial adoptive home doesn't work out. As a foster carer, you will be on hand when you can to step in and offer our dogs a temporary home whilst they await their forever home - meaning we don't have to put our dogs in external kennels.
You will provide our special dogs a home away from home, be instrumental in their training and socialisation, assist in helping them meet their new, potential families. Our dogs come from a range of backgrounds so whilst experience with dogs is certainly useful, it is not necesarry as you will be guided and supported by our experienced team every step of the way.
We do ask that:
-You are over the age of 23
-You are based in the UK
-You have a car and are confident transporting dogs to the vets/onward home
-Secure garden access
-Ideally no other pets or children but get in touch and we can discuss this on a one to one basis
Fostering is an incredible way to give back, when you foster one dog you allow space for another dog in our shelter. We are here to help every step of the way, including covering all costs so you won't be out of pocket! Do you want to join our mission to empower and support LGBTQ+ young people? The Kite Trust is recruiting for a number of new Trustees, following several of our long-standing Trustees reaching the end of their tenures.
It's an exciting moment to join our charity and our work in supporting and empowering LGBTQ+ youth, with a new strategic plan in development and new major projects recently launched such as Turning the Tide - drawing together collaboration across the LGBTQ+ youth sector - and Creating Supportive Environments, fighting back against hate.
Central to us now and always is our fantastic Youth Work programme which provides individual and group support to LGBTQ+ young people across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
We are looking to add to our board's expertise in particular areas, and would welcome applications from people who share our passion and commitment to supporting LGBTQ+ young people, alongside skills and experience in any of the following: Finance (for Treasurer role), Charity Governance and Compliance, Income Generation and Business Development, Safeguarding, Human Resources, and Communications.
Trustees can be based nationwide, but will be required to attend the Cambridgeshire LGBTQ+ Centre in Ely on one day a year for Trustee Day. Board and sub-committee meetings are conducted online. Commitment to LGBTQ+ rights and the empowerment of young people are essential to the role.
