We’re looking for a detail-oriented and strategic SEO Specialist Volunteer to help optimise our online presence and ensure our campaigns and content reach the communities that need them most.

Job Summary

The SEO Specialist Volunteer will play a key role in enhancing the visibility and searchability of Trans Celebration’s website and digital content. This volunteer will work alongside the marketing team to implement SEO best practices, conduct keyword research, improve site structure, and analyse web performance—all to ensure our content reaches a broader audience and amplifies trans voices online.

Key Responsibilities

· Conduct keyword research to inform website content and campaign strategies.

· Optimise existing content for improved search engine ranking (meta tags, headers, alt text, etc.).

· Monitor and analyse SEO performance using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and SEMrush.

· Identify technical SEO issues and collaborate with web/content teams to resolve them.

· Assist in developing backlink strategies and improving domain authority.

· Support the content team in creating SEO-optimised blogs and pages.

· Provide monthly reports on SEO performance and suggest improvements.

· Stay up to date with SEO trends, Google algorithm updates, and emerging best practices.

What We’re Looking For

Skills & Competencies:

· Understanding of SEO principles and search engine algorithms.

· Experience using SEO tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Moz, Ahrefs, or SEMrush.

· Ability to perform keyword research and competitor analysis.

· Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and content management systems (especially WordPress).

We are seeking a proactive and skilled WordPress Website Developer Volunteer to support the ongoing development and maintenance of our website, helping us improve access to information, campaign visibility, and community resources.

The WordPress Website Developer Volunteer will be responsible for managing and enhancing our website’s functionality, performance, and user experience. This role includes tasks such as page creation, plugin and theme management, updates, bug fixes, and content integration, ensuring the website is accessible, secure, and reflective of Trans Celebration’s values and campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and update the WordPress website, including themes, plugins, and content.
• Ensure website security, performance, and accessibility compliance.

·Ensuring the effective and efficient administration of the organisation, including having appropriate policies and procedures in place

In addition to the above statutory duties, each trustee should use any specific skills, knowledge or experience to help the board of trustees reach sound decisions. We are seeking motivated and skilled UK-based professionals to join our volunteer board. As a trustee, you will play a strategic role in guiding the organization, ensuring good governance, and supporting our mission to create meaningful social change in Uganda and the UK. Debt Advice Foundation is a registered national debt advice and education charity, based in Darwen, Lancashire.

The charity aims to tackle the causes and impact of problem debt.  We do this through our DebtAware education programme, which provides children with the knowledge and skills they’ll need to manage their money with confidence in years to come and through our free debt advice telephone helpline, for those that are impacted by debt today.

The role

Our trutees play a vital role in making sure that Debt Advice Foundation achieves its objectives.

They do this by ensuring the charity has a clear strategy that aligns with its aims, effective governance procedures to ensure it meets its legal obligations and by supporting the executive team to effectively execute the charity’s strategic plan.

Duties

• Agree the charity’s vision and objectives.
• Approve organisational strategies and monitor and evaluate progress.
• Oversee financial plans and budgets and monitor and evaluate progress.
• Review and approve annual financial accounts.
• Identify and monitor organisational risks.
• Provide support and challenge to the executive in the exercise of their delegated authority.
• Adequately prepare for and attend board and sub-committee meetings.
• Use independent judgment, acting legally and in good faith to promote and protect Debt Advice Foundation’s interests.

Our work is driven by belief in young people’s potential, we focus on removing barriers to education and opportunity, as we aim to level the playing field and help all young people, particularly those from underserved communities to see that they belong in the world of STEM. 

We are looking for volunteers (21yrs+) to befriend a child or young person in care or leaving care. To provide opportunities for them to develop a meaningful. long-term relationship.

Our Befriending service supports older adults by alleviating loneliness and isolation, supporting independence, and increasing self-confidence, by making weekly or fortnightly visits to a client living in the borough of Croydon.

Befriender - In Person

Duties:
• Providing companionship to clients in their home, sharing a cup of tea
• Other activities mutually agreed by both the volunteer and client, such as reading together, or helping with post, and within the Befriending Programme’s guidelines
• Maintaining records of client visits and sending those to the Befriending Coordinator on a regular basis
• Accompanying client out for a walk or to the shop if they are sufficiently able
• Accompanying client to weekly activities or social clubs to support client’s
independence
• Escorting clients to GP/hospital appointments as needed
• Adherence to Age UK Croydon’s policies and procedures, including Confidentiality and Safeguarding
