Podcast Associate

About the role

The Podcast Associate will support the development and delivery of Period Reality’s brand new podcast series exploring menstrual health, gender equity and wellbeing.
You’ll work closely with the Podcast Hosts and the Comms Team to bring each episode to life, from research and planning to editing support and promotion.

What you'll do

• Assist with research and preparation for podcast episodes (topics, guests, key questions and relevant data).
• Support episode scheduling, recording logistics and coordination with guests.
• Help with script outlines, show notes and captions for episode releases.
• Assist with basic audio editing or liaise with editors to ensure smooth production.
• Coordinate with the Comms Team on social media promotion and content snippets.
• Help track episode performance and audience engagement.
• Bring creative ideas for themes, guest and storytelling approaches.

What we're looking for

• Strong interest in storytelling, menstrual health, and social impact.
• Good communication and organization skills.
• Some familiarity with audio tools is a plus, but not required.

Neurodiversity & ADHD Lead

Menstrual experiences intersect with neurodiversity in powerful ways. We want someone who can bring depth and care to how we understand ADHD and other neurodiverse realities in this space.

We are seeking a new Chair for the Scottish Workforce Professional Development Board (WPDB). The group has been working for five years to deliver their skills plan for Scotland, and is well established with 12 members from a variety of different stakeholders in Scotland, including employers, education providers and government agencies.

The UK WPDB is the lead on workforce policy, with a vision of growing the attractiveness of working in the sport and physical activity sector and of ensuring that all customers and consumers have a safe and excellent experience.  The Scottish WPDB was established to ensure the successful delivery of UK-wide workforce policy and strategy within Scotland, reflecting the significant differences between each of the home nations in areas such as legal systems, education policy, funding, delivery infrastructure and career pathways.   It has the flexibility to operate in line with the Scottish policies and priorities.

We are looking for an individual who understands the sector’s workforce requirements within Scotland and has an ambitious view for what the future could look like.  You will have a proven ability to drive strategic discussions around workforce policy, and to provide effective leadership to the rest of the Board. 

About us: GT Scholars is a charitable social enterprise that tackles educational inequality by giving ambitious young people the support, skills and strategies they need to achieve aspirations. We are seeking people from a variety of backgrounds to join our Policy Approval Panel. The purpose of the panel is to support the Workforce Professional Development Boards (WPDBs) by applying the appropriate scrutiny to the development and review of workforce policies developed by the sport and physical sector supported by CIMSPA.

The Policy Approval Panel will check whether the due process has been followed in the development and review of sector workforce policies such as professional standards, standards for deployment and apprenticeship standards. It will also check the accuracy of said policies, ensuring that anything issued to the WPDBs for approval is accurate and fit for purpose.

It is anticipated that the panel will meet three times per year ahead of the WPDB meetings but if there are no policies for approval of the board, the meeting will not be held.

An initial induction/standardisation meeting will be held in person, thereafter meetings will be held remotely with papers issued for review ahead of the meeting.

Award-winning theatre company One Tenth Human is seeking people with a passion for developing children’s STEM potential to join our Board of Trustees. Could you help us succeed with our next adventures?

One Tenth Human is an award-winning theatre company based in Lancaster, led by Artistic Director Sarah Punshon. We are a registered charity (no. 1195497), on a mission to empower primary-age children with better stories about their own potential. We explode myths and expectations when it comes to science, technology, engineering, arts, and maths (“STEAM”) because too many children reach adulthood believing these subjects are not for “people like me”. We want to change this.

We create and tour interactive theatrical adventures nationally to arts venues, libraries, schools, and village halls. Since our formation in 2016, we have been commissioned and co-produced by Shoreditch Town Hall, Z-arts, China Plate, Polka Theatre, Tutti Frutti, Big Imaginations, ARC Stockton, The Dukes Lancaster, and Lancaster Arts. We reach nationally, but are deeply embedded in our local region, working closely with schools, community groups, charities, and higher education partners to incubate new work and give more children the chance to take part in our life-changing adventures.

The Board meets for 90 minute meetings every quarter on Zoom, with occasional in-person Away Days.

Written information is sent out a week before each meeting, requiring careful reading and consideration. Trustees may take on additional tasks suitable to their area of expertise between meetings, but the role is fundamentally one of governance and strategic guidance.

We are currently recruiting for Board members with the following skills:

(A) Financial Management Trustee. We are seeking a Board member who would be able to support our financial management, working with the Treasurer (and our accountant) to oversee financial planning, processes, and compliance. Your experience might be an accountancy qualification, experience with charity financial management, experience in business, or similar. Your role would include joining our Budget Working Group, which meets quarterly, one to two weeks before each Board meeting.

(B) Board Members. More broadly, we are keen to recruit Board members who have any one (or more!) of the following areas of expertise:

• ○  Marketing/PR;

• ○  Fundraising / philanthropy;

• ○  Charity governance / legal;

• ○  IT;

• ○  Children aged 3-10 years - whether as a teacher, parent, carer, or volunteer;

Lucas Helps Dogs is a volunteer run  charity working in Sri Lanka to reduce the suffering of street and community dogs and cats. We run spay and neuter clinics, provide rabies vaccinations, emergency treatment, and daily meals to street dogs and cats. Tell My Truth and Shame the Devil CIC is a UK-registered Community Interest Company dedicated to empowering the survivor and young people’s community through advocacy, storytelling, education, and digital innovation.

The Situation

We're building a platform that predicts employee burnout 2-4 weeks before it happens. We have psychologists, tech people, and a working plan. What we don't have is money.

We're bootstrapping. Every penny is coming from the founders. We need someone who can help us find UK grants, foundations, and funding sources so we can:

• Hire developers properly (not Upwork disasters)
• Pay for proper infrastructure
• Move faster than our current painful pace

What We Need You To Do

Experience we actually need:

• 3+ years in grant writing or fundraising (charity or social enterprise)
• Track record of successful applications (tell us what you've won)
• Understanding of UK funding landscape
• Can write persuasively without corporate waffle
• Comfortable with tech/innovation projects (or willing to learn)

Bonus points:

• Experience with Innovate UK, UKRI, Wellcome Trust, mental health funders
• Network in impact investing or social finance
• Previous startup fundraising experience
• Understanding of NHS/health sector funding

This could be paid eventually. Right now we need someone who believes in the mission enough to help us get the resources to make it happen.

The Team

You'd work with:

• Founder (that's me (Don Diffang)- doing everything, need help with funding)
• Chief Behavioral Psychologist (evidence base for grants)
• Occupational Psychologist (workplace wellbeing expertise)
• CTO (technical bits for applications)
• Business Development person (partnerships)

Small team. No bureaucracy. Everyone's hands-on.

Timeline

November-December: Heavy research and first wave of applications January-February: Ongoing applications and relationship building March onwards: Either you've helped us raise money or we're still bootstrapping

Flexible hours. Most work is solo (research/writing) with weekly check-ins.

Success Looks Like

Minimum viable success:

• 10-15 applications submitted to relevant funders
• Clear funding pipeline for next 6-12 months
• Connections made with 3-5 foundations/funders
• At least 2-3 applications that have a real shot

Actual success:

• £20-50K raised in next 3-6 months
• £50-100K+ raised in next year
• Sustainable funding strategy in place
• Relationships built for future rounds

Dream scenario:

• Major grant or investment secured
• You becoming our part-time paid fundraising lead
• Proper funding to launch and scale

Why Not Paid?

Because we don't have money. That's literally why we need you.

If we had £50K lying around, we wouldn't be posting volunteer roles - we'd be hiring developers.

But: if you help us raise funds, we'll pay you from those funds (success fee or salary). And equity is definitely on the table for someone who helps us break out of bootstrap mode.

• Waste your time on applications that have no chance
• Give you fluffy "brand guidelines" instead of real content
• Micromanage your writing
• Disappear when you need information

We will:

• Be realistic about our chances
• Provide all technical/impact content you need
• Respond fast to questions
• Give you credit when grants succeed
• Discuss equity/payment when funding comes in

What you’ll be doing

We’re on the lookout for an Aviation Reporter/Writer/Contributor to join our bustling newsdesk team, and support in the editorial content creation process. Some of the things you’ll be doing week-to-week includes:

· Conducting primary and secondary research to uncover interesting news within the aviation and travel industry

· Following leads from social media, press releases and prompts of Duty Editors to produce and write-up content and news

· Gather and source data & statistics to corroborate news – this may include from third party data providers, or Travel Radar’s inhouse data product

· Obtain first-hand information with opportunities to be present in happenings such as conferences, airshows and press events by airlines and airports

· Write weekly for the publication with a mix of news, reports and evergreen content based either off primary research as described above, or support from Duty Editors

· Support with the growth of the publication through assisting with article image sourcing, SEO Optimisation and sharing links to your own platforms such as LinkedIn.
