About Victory Afghanistan

Victory Afghanistan is a Chicago-registered nonprofit dedicated to providing education and mentorship to Afghan girls and young women who have been banned from attending school. We currently run six levels of English classes and a Mentorship Programme that includes three career pathways:

1. Online Higher Education – Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees through remote universities.

2. Offline Higher Education – Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees via scholarships and sponsorships abroad.

3. Online Work & Internships – Virtual career and internship opportunities.

About the Role

We’re now looking for a new Online Pathway Manager to oversee and expand the Online Higher Education stream. You’ll step into an existing structure — our previous manager will fully brief you — so you won’t be starting from zero.

Your mission will be to help identify and secure online learning opportunities for our mentees who cannot leave Afghanistan. This could include building relationships with universities in the US or Europe, sourcing scholarships or sponsorships, and exploring donated course placements.

You’ll work closely with three Project Coordinators (who are also students in our academy), guiding and mentoring them as they assist you.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong initiative and leadership – someone who can drive things forward independently.

• Confident communicator with good public relations skills.

• Experience in higher education, partnerships, or international development is ideal.

• Based in the United Kingdom or United States (for time-zone alignment).

• Able to commit around 6 hours per week and attend weekly team meetings.

• Ideally available until September 2026 (the end of the next academic year).

You’ll report directly to the Operations Manager and work with a small, passionate, and global team making a real impact in girls’ lives.

What we need from you

You’ll be:

• Being part of a team that identifies suitable homes for cats in care
• Providing potential adopters with basic cat care information
• Completing homing questionnaires with potential adopters ‘virtually’, as well as face to face, which may involve visiting the homes of potential adopters
• Carrying out follow up communications if required
• Using online map searches to match cats and kittens to new homes

Time expectation

Our cat match volunteers usually spend 2 to 3 hours a week in this role which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.

Our photo and video volunteers help source, capture and share engaging photos of cats and other images to promote everything Cats Protection does for cats across the UK. Their photos and images help raise awareness of our fantastic volunteer groups and teams which in turn helps raise funds, raises awareness of adopting a Cats Protection cat, helps promote neutering and encourages people to learn more about great cat welfare.

A bit more information about this role and the team

Are you skilled with a camera? Do you enjoy taking pet photos? Then you might be who we are looking for! We’re seeking volunteers to take high-quality pictures of cats in our care to use for advertising on our website and social media. Experience of cats with different personalities and temperaments is beneficial, and this role will require some travel within our branch area.

What we need from you

You’ll be:

• Communicating with others to obtain photos and videos
• Organising photos and videos provided by others
• Capturing images of cats in care, cats we are helping, events and all things Cats Protection
• Ensuring that content meets with internal and external policies and guidelines

• Help create and maintain consistency in Maidstone Pride’s brand, voice, and messaging.

• Monitor social media engagement alongside the Marketing & Communications Manager.

• Support and maintain a consistent brand identity across Maidstone Pride.

• Support the promotion of Maidstone Pride and its activities.

• Support the development of relationships with local media, partners, and sponsors.

• Assist in the review, updating, and distribution of organisational policies and procedures to ensure alignment with current legislation and best practices
• Be the key contact for membership enquiries
• Maintain and update the membership database, including processing new member applications, renewals, and resignations.
• Oversee the collection, verification, and management of relevant documents and data
• Support the committee in developing and delivering a membership engagement strategy.

Role: Secretary & Operations Assistant

Role Overview

We’re looking for an engaged and organised individual to be the new Secretary & Operations Assistant for Maidstone Pride!

The Secretary & Operations Assistant will provide vital support to the day-to-day administration of Maidstone Pride and its activities, including supporting the governance of Maidstone Pride, coordination of meetings, record keeping, and communication with key stakeholders. This role ensures that all operational and compliance activities align with our mission and standards, contributing to the safe, lawful, and effective delivery of events and projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the day-to-day administration of Maidstone Pride and its operations alongside the Chair. 
• Oversee the collection, verification, and management of relevant documents and data 
• Supporting the volunteer recruitment processes, including screening, onboarding, and maintaining volunteer records. 
• Assist in the review, updating, and distribution of organisational policies and procedures to ensure alignment with current legislation and best practices

The Sign Language Officer oversees the teachers in running the BSL and Makaton teaching sessions once a week, ensuring volunteers engage in the sessions and thus utilise their skills at events. This involves building lesson plans, working to create engaging sessions and materials and helping to conduct teaching sessions.

The Conference Officer takes the lead of running the Annual National Conference. This includes the organisation of a sub-committee, financing, logistics, content of the training eg. speakers and social aspects. In addition to organising the conference, they should organise attendance at other conferences for recruitment and fundraising purposes. This should
include comic conventions and medical conferences.

Regional Officers oversee chapters within a certain region. They provide support and guidance to the Presidents (and the rest of committee if needed) including advice and signposting as needed. They can also provide hands on support if requested. They should encourage chapters to collaborate including the sharing of resources, socials, fundraisers, training and events.

The Merch Officer oversees the sale and creation of Make a Smile merch. This includes facilitation of committee hoodies, distribution of Make a Smile t-shirts and management of online merch sales. This can include designing new merch options, pushing additional sales on social media and auditing digital stock.
