About the Role
We are seeking a volunteer Head of HR to lead and oversee our HR function at a pivotal time in YouthAdvantage UK’s ambition to become a registered charity.
Reporting into the Chief People Officer, you’ll provide strategic leadership to a multi-layered HR structure, directly managing our HRBP Lead and HR Managers, and overseeing five core teams that support the organisation’s people and culture strategy.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced HR leader who wants to give back by mentoring the next generation of HR professionals, shaping policy and practice, and helping us build a strong, inclusive, and values-led volunteer workforce across the UK.

Key Responsibilities
•Provide overall leadership to the HR function, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s mission and values.
•Manage and coach HRBP Lead and HR Managers to ensure smooth delivery across all people-related functions.

•Lead succession planning and ensure continuity across all volunteer HR roles.

•Champion inclusive, accessible practices across the organisation.
What We're Looking For:
We’re looking for someone who’s experienced enough to hit the ground running and humble enough to grow with us.
You’ll be most successful in this role if you have:
•Solid operational HR experience, ideally across generalist and specialist areas such as recruitment, employee relations/law, L&D, and policy.
•Previous line management experience, with a demonstrable record of supporting and developing HR team members or volunteers.
•A practical, sleeves-rolled-up approach - someone who is hands-on, accessible, and able to get things done in a busy, volunteer-led environment.
•A strategic mindset, but also the willingness to dig into day-to-day HR activity and problem-solving.
•A collaborative, coaching-ready attitude - this is a great opportunity for someone who has enough experience to stand on their own feet, but is open to being coached by the Chief People Officer to further develop their leadership style.
•Good communication and people skills, with the ability to work across different functions and with a wide range of volunteers.
•An interest in or understanding of the third sector and volunteer engagement is a bonus, but not essential.
•Experience working remotely or in hybrid teams is helpful.
•Above all, a genuine passion for youth empowerment and a belief in what we’re building at YouthAdvantage UK.

Strands B: We will offer ongoing support either face-to- face of up to 1hour or by telephone between 30 minutes and 1 hour. Strand B provision is for older people leaving Strand A that require long term support or for those who are identified as needing ongoing face-to-face or local telephone befriending support on entry to theprogramme.
Purpose of Role

Arrange and carry out assessment for new service users within the befriending service using the Guided Conversation approach, in order to gather appropriate information about the older person, their needs, and what a befriender will be expected (and not expected) to do.

Ensure that the person wants a befriender, has given consent, confidentiality has been discussed, and the person is able and willing to join the service.

Ensure that volunteers and service users are well-matched and that the service runs safely, effectively, and in line with organisational standards.
Key Tasks

Carry out a needs assessment for new service users referred to the befriending service. It could be a telephone-based discussion or review of a referral form or a home visit.

Gather key information such as visit preferences, activity interests, potential risks, and any unmet needs.

About the role
We are seeking a highly experienced Non-Executive Director to join our Board and lead the work of our Nomination and Remuneration Committee (NRC). - Time commitment
The role requires a meaningful time commitment across the year. There are also four Committee meetings a year, occasional development sessions, and involvement in recruitment, induction, and appraisal processes. Board Members are also expected to attend the CII AGM and support urgent matters between meetings as needed.

We are looking for a passionate and creative volunteer to assist in leading our Acrylic Painting sessions. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys art, has a keen interest in acrylic painting, and is enthusiastic about supporting others in their creative journey.
This group will run on Monday between 11am and 1pm!
What you will be doing
- Assist the session leader in setting up and organizing art materials before the session.
- Support participants with basic acrylic painting techniques, color mixing, and brushwork.
- Provide encouragement and guidance to attendees, helping them feel comfortable and inspired. independent activities
- Help maintain a clean and safe workspace by managing supplies and cleaning up after sessions.
- Assist with any administrative tasks, such as attendance tracking or taking photographs of completed artwork (if permitted).
- Ensure all health and safety guidelines are followed.
The skills you need
- Basic knowledge of acrylic painting techniques (formal training is not required but is a plus).
- Passion for art and creativity.
- Patience and good communication skills to assist participants of all skill levels.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions from the session leader.
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to commit to regular sessions.
- No prior teaching experience is necessary, but a willingness to engage and support others is essential.

Share Community is seeking two trustees to fill skills gaps on, and diversify, our board.
Share’s trustee team has responsibility for overseeing strategy and performance. Share currently has nine trustees, and is looking to recruit two more with the enthusiasm, skills and commitment we need to help guide Share through the next phase of its development.
Prospective trustees must have a commitment to Share’s vision and values, and a passion for making a difference in the lives of disabled people. Share is particularly keen to encourage applications from individuals with specific experience of:
- Finance – Share is seeking a new trustee with strong financial credentials, ideally a Chartered Accountant, who will sit on our Finance Sub-Committee
- Law – A trustee with experience in the legal field
Share believes strongly that diversity of thought and experience directly contributes to better organisational outcomes, and that the composition of our charity’s leadership should be reflective of the diversity of our student body.
We are particularly keen to encourage applications for trustee roles from groups currently under-represented on the board, including people who have lived experience of disability or caring for someone with a disability, those from minoritised ethnic backgrounds, and men.
You don’t have to have been a trustee before – we are a welcoming, supportive team and will help you to succeed whether you’re a first-time trustee or you have extensive experience.
While trustee roles are voluntary, there are a host of benefits for prospective applicants. About Share
Share is a charity based in Wandsworth and Lambeth, working with adults with learning disabilities and autism.
The story of Share began in 1972, when a group of disabled people came together as a self-help group to improve employment and training opportunities for disabled people. Over the years, Share has grown and evolved, responding to changing needs and opportunities.
Share appointed a new Chief Executive in 2022, and the Charity is in the final year of a three-year strategy. Delivery of our strategy will help Share achieve its mission of providing a safe, empowering and progressive experience where disabled adults can develop their skills, wellbeing and purpose to enable them to live happier, healthier and more independent lives.
Share principally supports people from south west London, with the majority of students coming from Wandsworth and Lambeth. Share currently operates from four sites and supports more than 180 students each week across our range of programmes which focus on personal development, independent living skills, and employability.
Share’s vision is to live in a world where disabled adults are genuinely valued and included, can make choices and have the freedom to fulfil their ambitions. Share is inclusive, supportive and ambitious and works with kindness, integrity and respect.

We are looking for a volunteer who would like to play a role in building children’s confidence. Would you be interested in supporting children to improve their numeracy abilities? We are looking for a volunteer who understands children with specific needs particularly around attention and memory challenges. Through your support, encouragement and tutoring you will make a difference to the people you work with! Hestia provides holistic, one-to-one support in our refuges and the community. Our refuge services are for women and children, offering a safe place to stay and vital emotional and practical support.
Outside of our refuges, most of our support services are accessible by anyone who has experienced domestic abuse, including men.
In the last year, 3,855 women and children were supported by Hestia to recover from domestic abuse.
Anyone can experience domestic abuse, at any point in their life, regardless of their background, age, gender, ethnicity or sexual orientation. However, it is a gendered crime, with women being three times more likely to be victims.
We help people understand what domestic abuse is and develop the knowledge, skills and tools they need to protect themselves, stay safe and leave a relationship, if and when they’re ready to do so.
What you will be doing
- To support children who are not confident with numeracy to develop these skills through tutoring sessions over a video call
- Engage in conversation, problem solving examples, maths based support
- To keep records of conversations and update the support worker on progress of sessions
The skills you need
- Interest in supporting children to develop their math skills. Background in teaching maths/numeracy is desirable
- Good communication skills
- Ability to provide a supportive and inclusive atmosphere
- A tutoring qualification is desirable but not essential
- Mathematics qualification is essential

Irise International is at a pivotal and exciting moment in our journey to achieve menstrual justice.
We are a small but globally respected charity based in Sheffield, working across the UK and East Africa to end menstrual injustice by shifting power to young activists and grassroots leaders. Our work is bold, inclusive, and grounded in lived experience. From launching youth-led policy tools in UK schools to co-hosting pan-African feminist gatherings, we amplify the voices of people who menstruate in spaces they’ve historically been excluded from.
We’ve just launched our 2025–2030 strategy and are entering a crucial phase of development. We’re building new income streams, deepening youth leadership, and evolving into a post-founder organisation under new leadership. We’re also piloting exciting collaborations—with councils, universities, and feminist businesses—while supporting our small team with the structure they need to thrive.
Our current Chair will step down in 2025, and we’re seeking someone to work alongside them and our CEO over the next 6–12 months to support a smooth and values-led transition.
