The Role of Trustee

Reports to: Chair of the Board

Location: Remote or Hybrid (UK)

Time Commitment: Approx. 4–6 board meetings per year

Remuneration: Voluntary (reasonable expenses reimbursed)

As a Trustee, you will support the strategic leadership of GamLEARN, ensuring accountability, transparency, and mission alignment.

Who We’re Looking For

REMIX is a new youth social mobility charity start-up on a mission to "remix young lives" from disadvantaged backgrounds across London. We aim to guide, mentor, and inspire young people through positive role modelling, comprehensive personal development, and vital employability skills. We have our logo, but we need your creative expertise to bring our brand to life with an impactful, youth-friendly identity.

This is an incredible opportunity to apply your design skills to a meaningful social cause, helping us create a visual language that will attract young people to our programmes, inspire people to volunteer with us, and excite supporters to donate.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

We need a creative, and detail-oriented designer who understands how to connect with a youth audience through visuals. We have a logo already but need to create a positive youth brand around it.

In this vital set-up phase, you will be instrumental in:

• Developing a Brand Styling Guide: Collaborating with our team to build a comprehensive visual identity guide. This includes defining our brand colours, typography, imagery style (including photography and illustration direction), logo usage, and overall design principles to ensure a cohesive, youthful and impactful look.

• Designing Core Communication Materials: Creating templates and initial designs for:

  • Social media posts: Engaging graphics for Instagram.

  • Information booklets: Designing layouts for programme information, volunteer guides, or impact reports.

  • Presentation templates: Creating professional and appealing templates for pitches to funders and partners.

• Ensuring Brand Consistency: Helping to apply the new brand identity across all our communications, ensuring everything we produce feels distinctly REMIX.

• Visual Storytelling: Translating REMIX's mission and impact into compelling visual narratives that resonate with our audiences.

• Driving Fundraising Strategy: Actively seeking and securing initial seed funding to enable the charity's launch.

• Programme Development: Refining and preparing our mentoring, personal development, and employability programmes for launch.

• Recruiting Key Volunteers: Attracting and onboarding our initial cohort of mentors and operational volunteers.

• A qualified finance professional with charity experience who can also chair our Finance, Audit and Risk Committee.

The Role

We are seeking a new Chair of the Board to provide strategic leadership, ensure good governance, and support the long-term sustainability and growth of Filling Good. Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Guide the Board in setting and reviewing strategic goals.

Governance Oversight

Sense is a leading disability charity with extensive knowledge and expertise in delivering personalised, creative and flexible support for disabled people with complex needs. Our tailored approach ensures that every person is empowered to live fully at every stage of life.

Due to the nature of the role, we require all applicants to be aged 16 or over. You must have a UK address to volunteer with Sense.

What your role will involve

You’ll get the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of activities, including:

About the role

As an Education Advice Caseworker Assistant, you will support the Family Support Worker in their work to advise families on issues relating to schooling and child wellbeing.

You will be supporting Latin American families with children (mainly Spanish- speakers) aged 5-19 years old, who have recently migrated to the UK and are not yet in school or have only just started.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Assisting the Education Advice Caseworker in:

● Supporting parents with the school admissions process in the UK. This includes:

providing information about the UK education system; explaining the school admissions process; helping parents fill in application forms; writing/calling Local Authority School Admissions; and following up on unsuccessful applications;

● Planning and delivering parent workshops and focus groups to respond to parents’ needs (e.g., positive parenting, school in the UK, bullying, etc.);

● Putting together useful resources for parents and staff, including simple translations, fliers, handouts, etc.;

● Creating documents and information sheets for parents including half term activities, breakfast clubs, afternoon wrap around, extracurricular activities, etc.

We are looking for someone who is/has:

• Fluent in English (essential) and intermediate Spanish or Portuguese (desirable);

• A flexible and enthusiastic individual, who is confident with working in a multicultural and multilingual environment;

• Strong interest and experience in working with children and their families in creative and/or educational set;

• An understanding of safeguarding and commitment to promoting children’s welfare;

• A warm, friendly, patient, enthusiastic and empathetic approach towards children and their families;

• Good time management and organisational skills;

• Good interpersonal and communication skills and attention to detail;

• Ability to set own work priorities, take initiative and work with minimal supervision.
