We are looking for an assistant to help our film director as we enter post production at the end of a 3 year (fun) film project about the personal lives of Cancer Research Scientists. This film will pay tribute to the incredible work these amazing (often very young) scientists do, and until now: their dedication has often been overlooked.  This is a first-of-its-kind movie, shot in wide-screen cinema scope and is intended for release on ALL platforms, Sky, Netflix, Amazon, Apple.  We have refused production funds from the big platforms (funding the entire film project ourselves) in order to keep control of WHERE the movie can be distributed and to allow all film revenue profits to go to cancer research UK.This will stop greedy networks from blocking each other in distributing the film. We want every country around the world to be able to broadcast the movie because half of the world's 8 billion people will suffer cancer at some point in their lives, and we want cancer sufferers worldwide to see this heartwarming film showing amazing scientists working tirelessly to find new cures. As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising events organisers have the exciting and varied role of helping plan and deliver local fundraising events to raise the vital funds needed to help our feline friends. Our fundraising events organisers use their passion for cats and people to plan cake sales, barn dances, quiz nights and everything in between.

What can you expect to be doing?

• Planning fundraising events and activities like cake sales, quiz nights and barn dances in Mid-Sussex RH15, RH16, RH17, BN6, BN45.
• Providing the treasurer with information on funds raised from fundraising events
• Encouraging and promoting a professional image of Cats Protection 
• Following policies and guidelines and ensuring licences and permits are obtained for events

A bit more information about this role and the team

• This is a flexible role. The amount of time you offer can work to your availability and convenience.
• There may be opportunities for your activities to be fully remote and/or admin based if you'd prefer.
• You will need your own transport if you wish to attend events, ideally a car or van since items, stock and equipment will usually be needed.
• We ask that you complete training to support you in your role. This can be completed online if you have access to the internet and the necessary device (computer/laptop/tablet etc). Support can be offered or paper versions of much of the training if needed.

The Mlambe Project builds school infrastructure in Malawi Africa, one of the poorest countries in the world.  We change lives through enabling access to education by transforming classrooms from "under a tree" (literally) into fully functional school blocks. We use environmentally sustainable techniques and local workers so the money gets reinvested in the communities we serve.  We do this work in partnership with our sister NGO that is Malawi based, ensuring that our priorities are aligned to the local community. We are 100% volunteer based so 100% of every dollar/pound we raise has a direct impact. The role:

• Trustee position at a UK registered charity

The HMSA is a small and dynamic charity that helps those living with hypermobility syndromes (and carers and families) to be independent and live well. We also provide education for professionals in social care, health, teaching and local authority employees. We have big plans to expand our offer to our members and professionals, as well as raise the profile of the charity and hypermobility syndromes.  We are seeking to appoint up to 2 new trustees.  Recognising that most people with these conditions present and are supported in primary care, we are particularly keen to recruit someone with a background in Primary Care to help us develop our plans. We are also interested to hear from anyone with experience of strengthening social media channels and comms, especially within a small charity setting.

 The Trustee role involves:

•  Preparing for and attending quarterly board meetings – 2 hours in the evening or a half day on a Saturday (half online/half in person if possible). The in person meetings are likely to be in central London.
• Providing support/guidance to the other Trustees, the CEO as well as staff/volunteer team. This may include small group working in between Board meetings.
• You may also be asked to participate in sub-committees as required.
• Developing and supporting our Clinical Advisory Group and/or Comms work
• Promoting the HMSA to primary care and other health and social care professionals or other relevant external audiences.

About the Role

The Enhanced Professional Development Programme (ePDP) Coordinator plays a pivotal role in driving the success of our flagship professional development initiative. This position is responsible for managing the end-to-end execution of the ePDP, ensuring seamless coordination between participants, Heads of Department (HoDs), and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will combine exceptional organizational skills with a passion for fostering professional growth, ensuring participants remain engaged and supported throughout their development journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Programme Management
• Oversee the effective implementation of the ePDP, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
• Welcome participants to the programme, providing orientation materials and clarifying expectations.

Trustee with Fundraising Experience 

About NWR 

NWR (National Women’s Register) is a membership charity aiming to stop social isolation in women.  It was founded in 1960 by Maureen Nicol in response to a letter in the Guardian bemoaning how women became isolated when they gave up their careers to raise their children.  Maureen set up NWR as an alternative to WI, with the aim of meetings focusing on non-domestic, stimulating topics.  60 years later NWR is still connecting women, albeit an older generation of +55 years, with 315 local groups and a thriving online community.

Trustee Role 

Our current Board of Trustees are all members of NWR, and we are seeking a voluntary, external Trustee to bring a different dimension to the Board.

We are looking for someone experienced in working in the charity sector, in particular a membership organisation, and who is committed to our objectives. In addition, our ideal Trustee is someone with successful skills and experience of working in a fundraising role, who could advise us on accessing and applying for grants. 

The board holds quarterly Trustee meetings that last approx. 3-4 hours. These are usually on Zoom, but we try to meet face-to-face once a year. Additionally, our Head of Operations & Development is seeking some ad hoc fundraising and bid writing mentorship.

Time commitment: Flexible and can be adjusted to accommodate your personal schedule. The support plans designed for referred families are typically structured to span a period of six weeks.

Due to the nature of the role, we are looking for volunteers with some skills, experience and knowledge of gardening, either as a profession or as a hobby.
