We’re looking for a reliable and organised volunteer to become a key part of Coempowered as we grow, helping us coordinate our people, programmes and day-to-day work.

Coempowered is a small education charity creating spaces for philosophical inquiry, critical thinking and meaningful dialogue. We work mainly with children, young people and young adults, including Persian-speaking communities from Afghanistan and Iran, with Kurdish-language provision also developing.

As our programmes and volunteer team grow, we need someone who can help connect the different parts of the organisation and make sure plans turn into action. You will work closely with the Executive Lead and gradually take greater ownership of day-to-day coordination.

What you’ll do

Practical details

The role is fully remote and can be carried out from anywhere with reliable internet access. We anticipate around 5–7 hours per week, arranged flexibly around your availability. Regular communication and attendance at agreed online meetings will be important.

We are looking for someone interested in contributing consistently over time and developing with the organisation, rather than completing a short one-off project.

Core Purpose: To accelerate the growth of our partnered events proposition within the charities Adventures for Animals team by identifying, researching, and initiating contact with potential partner groups, gyms, influencers, and communities. This role manages the pipeline of finding alignment, making first contact, and getting partners excited about co-creating a fundraising event to make a difference to the lives of animals in need.

Key Responsibilities

• Partnership Mapping & Research: Scour social media, Google, local directories, and fitness networks to identify potential partners (e.g., vegan groups, eco-conscious gyms, walking clubs, outdoor influencers).
• Pipeline Management: Maintain an organized Partnerships Tracker spreadsheet (listing organization names, key contact info, social handles, and alignment reasons).
• Initial Cold Outreach: Send out template-based pitch emails and Social Media/LinkedIn direct messages to explain the dual-branded initiative and gauge their interest.
• Warm Handover: Once a group or influencer expresses concrete interest and wants to discuss details, passing this to the team to finalise the partnership (option to remain involved with this process if the applicant would like to be part of the full life cycle of managing the partnership)

Required Experience & Skills

• Excellent written communication skills—able to write warm, persuasive pitch messages.
• Highly resourceful with strong internet research skills (proficient with Instagram, LinkedIn, and Google searching).
• Extremely organized and comfortable working with spreadsheets 

Core Purpose: To manage the creation, design, and formatting of all consumer-facing promotional materials for the charities adventure fundraising initiative from trip itineraries to fundraising packs. This role ensures that every document a participant receives is beautifully branded, highly professional, and easy to understand.

Key Responsibilities

• Collateral Design: Create promotional digital flyers, posters, and PDF booklets for specific initiatives like Walk for Paws
• Document Standardisation: Take raw text from the operations team and turn it into beautiful, professional trip itineraries, kit lists, and pre-departure guides using Canva templates.
• Asset Toolkits: Build and update "Fundraising & Marketing Packs" that our Volunteer Adventure Ambassadors and external partners (like gyms or hiking groups) can use to promote our fundraising adventures
• Brand Consistency: Ensure all visual assets, fonts, logos, and tones of voice match our guidelines across all media.

Required Experience & Skills

• Mid-level graphic design or marketing coordination experience (exceptional proficiency with Canva is essential; Adobe Creative Suite is a bonus).
• Strong layout skills—able to turn a text document into a highly readable, visually appealing guide.
• Deep understanding of brand guidelines, typography, and visual consistency.

Core Purpose: To build excitement around the charities UK and Overseas fundraising expeditions and make their Adventures for Animals brand visible, active, and appealing online.

Key Responsibilities

• Content Creation: Design visually striking social graphics on Canva, edit short-form videos (Reels/TikToks) using footage from past trips, and write engaging captions.
• Channel Scheduling: Maintain a consistent digital presence by planning and scheduling posts a week or two in advance across Instagram and Facebook.
• Community Engagement: Monitor comments and direct messages answering simple questions and flagging complex queries for the core team.
• Ambassador Content Support: Repost content from Adventure Ambassadors and Mountain Leader/Expedition Guides to amplify the brand’s reach.

• Proficiency with Canva and mobile video editing apps (e.g., CapCut, InShot).
• Creative flair with strong, punchy copywriting skills.

Core Purpose: To support and develop our small Auctions for Animals Facebook Group to engage with our audience and be part of a small friendly team raising funds to support animals in need.

Key Responsibilities

• Content Creation: Design branded social graphics on Canva to engage with our audience on Facebook 
• Channel Scheduling: Maintain a consistent digital presence by planning and scheduling posts in advance
• Community Engagement: Monitor comments and direct messages, flagging complex queries for the Auctions Manager
• Charity Brand Support: Repost content generated by the charities main socials to amplify the brand’s reach and highlight the work the auction group is supporting.

Core Purpose: To assist the charity with sourcing and onboarding Volunteer Adventure Ambassadors and Volunteer Mountain Leader & Expedition Guides who help to support their range of UK and Overseas Challenges which raise funds to support animals in need

Friends of Refugees London offers befriending and advocacy services to refugees and migrants - we are looking for an organised, friendly Volunteer Coordinator to help manage our volunteer programme, ensuring volunteers and clients have a positive experience from their first enquiry through to being matched and beyond. 

About the role 

This is a varied and rewarding coordination role that is pivotal to the charity’s work. You'll help guide volunteers through every stage of their journey with us, from initial enquiry through to them being matched with a client and throughout the befriending relationship.

Time Commitment Estimate

• Clinical Care Team Management and guideline compliance: 2-4 hrs/month (availability to join our Key Staff Meeting on Wednesdays at 12pm is desirable)

• Beneficiary risk assessments: 2-5 hrs/week at peak application times

• High-risk cases/referrals: 2–4 hrs/case

• Funding eligibility: approx. 1 hour per case ad hoc

• Care complaints: 2–4 hrs/case (plus 3–5 hrs/case for formal investigations)

Role overview:

As the Volunteer Foster Coordinator, you will play a vital role in managing our foster program for cats in our care. This position is essential for ensuring that our cats are placed in loving, temporary homes while they await adoption. You will collaborate closely with foster carers, potential adopters, and other volunteers to create a supportive environment that benefits both the cats and their fosters.

Key responsibilities:

• Foster management: Oversee the onboarding and ongoing support of foster carers.

• Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for foster carers, addressing any questions or concerns and providing necessary updates. Communication will primarily occur through email and messaging platforms, access to facebook and Whatapp is essential.

• Training and support: Provide guidance and resources to foster carers on cat care, behaviour, and best practices to ensure the well-being of the cats in their care and ensuring our policies and procedures are upheld.

• Record keeping: Maintain organised and accurate records of foster placements, including intake forms, health updates, and feedback from foster homes.

• Coordination of resources: Ensure that foster homes have the necessary supplies (food, litter, etc.) and access to veterinary care as needed.

• Post-Foster follow-up: Check in with fosterers to gather feedback and facilitate any transitions to permanent homes, ensuring a smooth process for both the cats and their fosters.
