Join the small, diverse and friendly team of an independent advocacy charity in Lewisham as Treasurer of the Board of Trustees. We are a rights-based organisation and support people with learning disabilities to speak up and get their voices heard. 

Lewisham Speaking Up is an inclusive organisation that work in partnership with the people who need our support. Our beneficiaries are included at all levels of the organisation, from being Board members to being paid staff as well as being beneficiaries of our services.

Our services are split into two areas:

• self-advocacy 

• 1-2-1 advocacy 

We all work together towards our vision for a society where people with learning disabilities are listened to, recognised, respected and included in all decisions about their lives. We are looking for trustees who are committed to helping the organisation achieve this. 

Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic financial leadership, overseeing budgets, fundraising, and financial planning. 

• Ensure accurate financial records, compliance, and robust governance, including risk management and auditor liaison. 

• Actively participate in Board meetings, contributing to governance and strategy. 

Essential Skills:

• A qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with experience in financial management and clear communication. 

• An awareness of, or willingness to learn about, issues facing people with learning disabilities and a commitment to supporting them 

• The ability to explain complex technical financial data to other trustees who have a learning disability and those with no financial background. 

• Availability for regular Board meetings (online via Zoom) 

Desirable Skills: 

• Experience in charity finance 

• Experience as a Trustee, grant funding knowledge, proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks),

• Proficiency in budgeting, cash flow monitoring and evaluating the financial viability of strategic plans.

Our trained staff and volunteers help people understand what to expect before, during and after a trial, and offer practical and emotional support every step of the way, so witnesses can give their best evidence.   

The Witness Service also supports bereaved family members, and friends and family who are accompanying witnesses in court.

This is an exceptional opportunity to help us ensure a smooth transition and shape a high-quality, high-impact and trauma-informed service — so every witness feels informed, supported and more confident in court.  

Witness Service Outreach Volunteers provide support to witnesses when they are attending court, as well as pre-trial and post-trial helping them to feel safe and informed. You will provide support to both prosecution and defence witnesses.

• Undertake an Enhanced DBS with Child Barred List check & be part of the DBS Update Service.

• Be able to provide two satisfactory references. 

• Have an active email address that you are comfortable using in order to engage with VS communications.

We are a local charity rooted since 2007 in the Hackney community, helping and supporting migrants with their immigration status and access to services. Join the RCGP Scottish Patient Forum

The Royal College of General Practitioners Scotland is recruiting new members to the RCGP Scottish Patient Forum.

From feeding into policy consultations, to assisting with the development of College communications and campaigns, members of the RCGP Scottish Patient Forum play a key role in helping to shape the work of the College in Scotland.

This is a voluntary role for a term of up to three years. 

You do not need experience of being on a committee or advisory group.

What You’ll Do

· Take part in up to three online Forum meetings per year, offering your insights and lived experience.

· Provide feedback on RCGP Scotland policy papers, consultation responses and strategic documents.

· Act as a sounding board for press and communications activity to help ensure the patient perspective is reflected.

· Represent the Forum at relevant conferences, workshops, seminars or clinical groups (subject to your availability).

· Contribute to wider College activities where capacity and interest allow.

Talkthru is a specialist counselling charity based in Huddersfield, offering free, confidential support to individuals and families affected by pregnancy loss, baby loss and other birth-related trauma.

Our Board of Trustees oversees Talkthru’s strategic direction, governance, and financial health, ensuring that we remain sustainable, ethical, and effective. This is where you come in.

The Women & Families Resource Centre (WFRC) is a registered charity based in Wolverhampton, dedicated to supporting, empowering, and advocating for women and children. We help women facing crisis or challenging situations by encouraging independence and providing practical community support services.

Our flagship project, the Wolverhampton Baby Bank, supports families with children aged 0–3 by providing essential items such as nappies, clothing, bedding, toys, and other vital baby supplies.

Role Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Listing Associate (Volunteer) to support the Baby Bank operations onsite.

In this role, you will be responsible for accurately recording, organizing, and photographing donated items to ensure our inventory system is up to date, well-organised, and visually documented for efficient distribution.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys structured work, has an eye for detail, and wants to contribute to a meaningful community service.

Key Responsibilities

• Record all approved donated items into the inventory system
• Categorize items by type, size, age range, and condition
• Take clear and consistent photographs of items for listing purposes
• Ensure all items are correctly labeled and stored in designated areas
• Update stock levels and item status in tracking sheets or inventory tools
• Coordinate with the sorting team to verify item condition before listing
• Maintain organised digital folders for item photographs
• Flag missing, damaged, or mismatched items to the Team Lead
• Follow all operational SOPs for data entry and documentation

What We’re Looking For

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Basic experience in admin, inventory, data entry, or photography (preferred but not essential)
• Comfortable using Google Drive, Excel, or similar tools

Purpose/Summary of Role

The Treasurer is a trustee responsible for overseeing the financial affairs of the organisation, ensuring that finances are managed in line with legal requirements, good practice, and the organisation’s charitable aims.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership

• Ensure the organisation’s financial resources are managed responsibly and sustainably.
• Lead on financial strategy, planning, and risk management.
• Oversee the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.

Financial Monitoring and Reporting

• Present clear, accurate financial reports to the Board.
• Monitor financial performance and alert the Board to any risks or variances.
• Ensure proper accounting records are kept in line with legal requirements.

Compliance and Governance

• Ensure the organisation complies with financial regulations, charity law, Companies House regulations (if applicable), and funder requirements.
• Support the preparation and submission of annual accounts, reports, and returns.

Internal Processes

• Oversee financial controls, reserves, and investment policies.
• Support staff or volunteers responsible for day‑to‑day financial administration (e.g., bookkeeping, payroll).

Supporting Fundraising & Sustainability

• Provide insight on financial implications of fundraising plans, grants, and new projects.
• Ensure restricted funds are managed and reported correctly.
