To support the launch of our international summer exhibition, 'A Celebration of Biodiversity', Insecta Collective seek a volunteer photographer for 2.5 hours work, covering the Preview Event in Leicester, capturing photography and video footage of our event, to give a feel of the event overall, with photos and videos later being used on our website and social media. The volunteer will be given full credit of their work, and have their name and contact information shared in our website blog if they wish.

This is a good opportunity for amateur and upcoming photographers looking to build or add to their portfolio with event photography.

We are also interested to hear from anyone who would like to attend and photograph the exhibition anytime Mon - Friday, from 10am - 3pm, from 27th July - 14th August.

We are a grassroots arts & climate action organisation, being led and run by volunteers. We rely on the kind effort, time and skills of others to create and offer events.

Prison-based volunteers are the backbone of Fine Cell Work (FCW). Supported by the Fine Cell Work programmes team and by other staff at the FCW office, they teach and administer FCW stitching groups in prisons.

Prison volunteers work in teams to organise classes and teach our stitchers, as well as providing groups information to the prison and to the FCW office. The precise mix of skills will vary from prison to prison.

Volunteering in prison for Fine Cell Work requires ideally a good level of needlework skill (or a willingness to learn), some teaching experience and/or experience of working with socially-excluded groups. Volunteers must be patient and non-judgemental in order to work effectively. As a prison volunteer you will:

• Developing skills and confidence
• Teach prisoners to stitch FCW products within the framework of our training programme
• Encouraging and supporting prisoners to volunteer as class coordinators and peer mentors
• Encouraging and helping prisoners who wish to undertake their own creative projects
• Teaching prisoners to stitch FCW products within the framework of our training programme

It is essential for volunteers to support FCW ethos, believe in rehabilitation, be an excellent teamworker, observe personal boundaries, be reliable and patient to ensure cell groups run smoothly, and have record-keeping skills and have at knowledge of tapestry/needlework. . 

Volunteers work in prisons around the UK dependant on where groups are based, therefore it is requred that volunteers will be able to travel to the relevant prisons. Travel expenses will be reimbursed by the charity.

Operations Volunteer

The Goal: You are the engine room! You’ll help ensure our day-to-day systems, from IT to HR, are smooth and supportive.

We’d love help with:

• Daily Support: Helping with office admin, logistics, or coordinating meetings.

• Improving Systems: Assisting with our CRM (database) or helping the team get the most out of our tech.

• People Support: Helping with the "welcome" process for new staff or volunteers.

York Minster Fund Limited (YMFL), the corporate trustee of York Minster Fund, is currently looking for new volunteer directors to join our board. Founded in 1967 by The Earl of Scarbrough, today the Fund is York Minster’s lead fundraiser, raising £1-2M each year to for restoration and conservation of the fabric of the cathedral, alongside supporting education and music. It is an exciting time for the Fund, 2027 will see the Minster celebrating 1400 years since its founding and our 60th birthday.

Directors help set the strategy for the Fund and oversee governance, finances and operations. The main board meet 6 times a year, with sub committees such as Finance and Governance meeting quarterly. Alongside acting as a critical friend to the Fund’s manager, you will represent us at a range of events and champion the charity and its work within your networks.

General experience as a trustee or at board level is an advantage, although full induction and development can be offered to support the right candidates. We especially seek applicants with experience in digital marketing and giving, heritage focused grant making trusts, alongside general fundraising knowledge.

Appointments are made for a 4 year term, with the option to serve another 4 years.

This is an exciting opportunity for a volunteer Assistant Choreographer to work with our talented and enthusiastic company of young people for the academic year September 2026 - July 2027 to put on High School Musical.We are actively interviewing for this role, so if we find a suitable candidate we will appoint them and close the advert, so don't delay in making your application.

A Brief History of the Spa Theatre Company 

The Company was founded in 1982 as a young people’s group. From 1982 to 1991, there was a Senior Company, but at present the Senior Company is on hold.   

The Advertised Position 

The role advertised is for one person to provide support to the Choreographer of the Junior Company.

The Company is primarily a “teaching” organisation, offering a high standard of teaching in speech, drama, music and dance. 

The Company meets on a Tuesday evening at Aylesford School, Warwick, for tuition and rehearsal sessions.  We also perform a musical at a local theatre, usually in April/May.  

Key Attributes required 

The Assistant Choreographer is primarily in a learning and support situation and will be developing their ability to coach and train young people of varying ability.  They must be flexible, and should be prepared to learn from, and assist the Production Team. Candidates must be prepared to undertake a DBS check (Spa Theatre Company will cover the cost of this) and complete safeguarding training. 

Duties 

The Assistant Choreographer will: 

A. report directly to the Choreographer; 

B. take their instructions from the Choreographer and where necessary the wider Production Team;  

C. demonstrate an ability to relate to all ages and to show enthusiasm and encouragement; 

D. help to ensure the safety and well-being of the children attending sessions. 

Remuneration  

The Spa Theatre Company is a Registered Charity for its work in the tuition of young people. This post is a volunteer role, however, we do offer a small honorarium which will reflect the general age and inexperience of the postholder.

The Goal: Help us make every penny count. You will support our financial health, ensuring our resources are tracked carefully to maximise our impact.
