Could you be a friendly presence for someone living with a terminal illness and offer a short break for their carers?

Offer emotional support and conversation, help people express what matters to them, and support family members or carers before and after bereavement. We provide full training and ongoing support, and you’ll never be asked to do anything you’re not comfortable with. We are looking for friendly drivers to join us! 

You will meet some amazing people, whilst making a positive impact to their lives by driving to places they enjoy and appointments that are important. 

Activities will include: 

• Driving the people we support between their homes and services in a safe manner, in accordance with UK law. 

• Driving your own car or house vehicles

• Driving around the St Mellon’s area, which will be the start and end point of the majority of journeys 

• Assisting people we support in and out of vehicles and locations – with assistance from trained Dimensions staff. 

• Driving in a manner that is sensitive of physical and emotional requirements of the people we support. 

 
We are looking for drivers who: 

• Are aged 21 or over, with at least 2 years driving experience 

• Hold a full, clean and current UK Driving License (or equivalent) 

• Have the ability to understand verbal and written instructions in relation to  journeys 

• Are friendly with the people we support and our support staff 

• Are willing to commit to volunteer regularly (every other weekend, times to be agreed) 

A DBS check and two character references will be required for this role.

Ready to make a difference to a young person's life? Team Up is seeking dynamic volunteers to help transform the lives of disadvantaged pupils by improving their grades and building confidence in their learning.

We are recruiting inspirational role models who will tutor English or Maths once a week on one of our 10-12 week online programmes, starting in September 2026. 

You will be matched to a small group of care-experienced pupils who need extra support to reach their full academic potential. Equipped with full training and detailed lesson plans, you will provide them with the academic support, encouragment and inspiration they need to get back on track. Our tuition programmes aim to build not just academic strength, but confidence and positivity towards learning as well. 

All our volunteer tutors receive full training and support from a programme manager throughout the programme. . 

Practical Considerations:

• Our online programme runs on Tuesday afternoons from 17:00 till 18:00.
• The start date is mid-September (date TBC)
• Sessions are 60 minutes and take place via Teams. Tutors are expected to be online 15 minutes prior to their session. There is a 15-minute debrief with your progarmme manager after each session.
• This role requires you to undergo a free of charge enhanced DBS check, arranged by Team Up.

We are looking for:

• Strong grades in English or Maths
• Experience working with young people
• Committed, organised and patient individuals 
• Good interpersonal skills when dealing with pupils
• Individuals who are passionate about helping to reduce the education attainment gap and improve social mobility

Our volunteers love building a rapport with each pupil, seeing pupil growth, and personal confidence increase across the 12- week programme. By the end of the programme, you will see how the support you give has enabled a young person to not only improve their grades, but also build long term resilience. 

Alongside this meaningful experience, you will also be able to attend our online employability seminars, as well as receiving a personalised reference upon completion of the programme.

At Cats Protection we help thousands of cats and kittens each year thanks to our dedicated and passionate volunteer groups. We have branches across the UK, all of which help our cats in different ways. What we need from you

You’ll be:

• Leading the team to follow Cats Protection policies, procedures and guidelines

Time expectation

Our branch team leader volunteers usually spend 10 to 15 hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed. There will be times of year when more hours are required, such as towards the end of the financial year, but support and guidance are available.

NAPAC (the National Association for People Abused in Childhood) provides emotional support to adult survivors of all types of childhood abuse; including physical, sexual, emotional abuse or neglect.

We offer empathy, validation, normalisation, understanding and care to our callers. We also assist survivors in finding longer term or local support, utilising common coping and grounding mechanisms, as well as signposting to other services who may be able to provide additional support.

Our service is vital as many survivors of childhood abuse continue to be negatively impacted by their experiences into adulthood – from complex post-traumatic stress disorder, eating disorders and depression amongst other challenges.

It doesn’t have to be this way – this is the chance for you to change someone’s life for the better. We are seeking empathetic and resilient Volunteer Call Handlers to join our friendly team in Stockport.

Volunteer Call Handlers answer calls to NAPAC’s primary survivor support service – the telephone support line, so being confident speaking on the telephone is essential.

Due to the nature of the role, we require our volunteers to be above the age of 21.

Our volunteers at NAPAC are part of a unique, welcoming team where they receive 1:1 support from those around them. Volunteers will receive a 5-week training course (4×3-hour sessions plus a shadowing week).

Volunteer recruitment is ongoing with courses running every couple of months. Here you will receive specialist trauma-informed training and be fully equipped with the skills you need to feel confident in supporting survivors. Volunteers are also invited to attend our twice-yearly training days where we host guest speakers from other relevant organisations. Our volunteers play a crucial role supporting survivors and make a real difference to someone’s life with every call.
