About us
My Life Films is an award-winning charity that uses film and TV to enrich and support the lives of people living with dementia and their carers. My Life TV is our specialist on-demand streaming service, specifically designed to meet the cognitive needs of people living with dementia, for use within care settings and at home.
My Life TV is carefully curated to enable people living with dementia to feel stimulated and connected to the world, improving their mental health and supporting their essential care.
Our high-quality content includes interactive shows like quizzes, singalongs, drawing and chair yoga; calming content, including animal and nature programmes and slow TV; a wide range of reminiscence programmes, from the 1960s onwards, and much more.
Since launching in 2021 we work with highly respected content partners, as well as producing our own programming, in partnership with trusted organisations in the dementia care field, and more widely. The Alzheimer’s Society, BFI, Royal Parks, Museum of Brands, BBC Archive and National Trust are just some of the partners we are proud to work with.
We have ambitious plans to scale up its use, so we can reach and support as many people living with dementia as possible.
About the role
Stepping in at the helm of a well-established Board, and working closely with the highly experienced Executive Director, our new Chair will lead My Life Films through its next phase of growth and impact.
The new Chair will review and reinvigorate the charity’s governance, ideally including a board audit, as well as challenging and interrogating the group’s strategic plan.
This role will suit potential candidates who are ready to step-up to chair a not for profit organisation. This means they are likely to bring current or previous board experience as a non-executive or trustee. Candidates may have experience in the care sector, health sector, charity or foundation, possibly an organisation involved in supporting people living with dementia. This experience could enable candidates to draw on networks in the care, health, charity, voluntary sectors, social enterprise or foundation. It will be important that the new Chair can demonstrate a personal passion and commitment to improving the lives of people living with dementia.
The Chair will also help guide the Executive in optimising the existing model, developing new opportunities by helping expand networks and making introductions when necessary. They will act as a critical friend to Executive Director, coaching and challenging as required and providing leadership and strategic direction to the Board.
They will hold the organisation to the highest ethical standards, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and that My Life Films is run in the best interests of its stakeholders.
The Board of Trustees is the governing body of the charity and is collectively responsible for its success. All trustees must take decisions in the interests of the charity.
My Life Films has a trading subsidiary – MLF Productions Limited – and it is expected that the Chair of My Life Films will also Chair the trading company.

Selection Criteria

• Any experience of operating at Board level in the voluntary, public or private sector preferably with a knowledge of the Social Care sector.

Strategy and finance
• Ability to think strategically, interrogate complex information and focus the Board on priorities, impact and long-term sustainability.
• Strong financial literacy and ability to scrutinize budgets, management accounts and risk registers (not necessarily as a finance professional).
People leadership
• Track record of leading senior individuals or teams; able to coach, support and hold to account a CEO

Position
As part of ShareAction’s Board, the Trustee plays a vital role in the governance and strategic direction of the organisation. This role is key to ensuring ShareAction delivers its charitable objectives, remains financially sound and operates in line with its legal and regulatory responsibilities.
Our Trustees help make our ambitious 2026–2031 strategy happen as effectively as possible. They provide oversight, challenge and support, ensuring our work continues to drive lasting change in responsible investment.
A typical month in this role would include:
- Attending Board meetings and contributing to strategic decision-making
- Sitting on at least one Board sub-committee (such as Finance, Audit, Risk and Controls, or HR and Remuneration)
- Reviewing papers in advance and engaging constructively in discussions
- Supporting and constructively challenging the executive team
- Acting as an ambassador for ShareAction and, where appropriate, supporting fundraising and income generation
As part of this role, you will engage closely with fellow Trustees, the Chair of the Board and the Executive Team, forming strong working relationships and using your experience to help safeguard ShareAction’s assets, reputation and long-term impact.
Through your contribution, you will help ShareAction work towards its vision of a world where the financial system serves people and planet.

Requirements
We’re keen to hear from you if you are passionate about ShareAction’s mission and bring skills or experience that will strengthen our Board. We particularly welcome applications from individuals who can contribute to a greater diversity of perspectives and lived experience.

- Legal expertise, ideally as a qualified lawyer, with experience in charity law, pensions law, governance and/or financial regulation
- Senior management experience within the UK charity sector, particularly where combined with community engagement or organising experience

- Expertise in charity accounting
- Fundraising networks or experience
All Trustees are expected to:
- Be collaborative, thoughtful and willing to exercise independent judgement
- Commit to ShareAction’s values and objectives

- Make the time commitment required for the role (around 1–2 days per month)

Campaign for Better Transport is the national organisation advocating for better, greener, fairer transport options for everyone. This includes access to walking, cycling, public transport and shared mobility. Sustainable transport provides access to jobs, education, vital public services, shops, leisure and friends and family, while limiting negative impacts on air quality and the environment.
As a trustee, you’ll have an essential role in contributing towards the future direction of Campaign for Better Transport and making a real difference to our long-term resilience and our subsequent ability to create better public transport.
The last few years have seen increasing difficulty for charities and not-for-profits in the transport sector in raising funds, particularly from Charitable Foundations and Trusts and although good accessible transport is vital to the everyday lives of most people, it is also not an area which resonates for individual fundraising.
For this reason, we’re looking for trustees with voluntary sector fundraising experience to bring new ideas on generating longer term and more diverse funding streams and/or experience of working in small businesses who know how to deliver maximum impact from limited resources. Ideally you will be passionate about transport and have a strong network of industry related contacts.
Our board has a good working relationship with our small but dedicated team of staff, and prides itself on being very friendly and relaxed.
Commitment:
- Four Board meetings per year

As a trustee, you will join a well-known, respected charity, influence strategy, strengthen governance and contribute to meaningful change. About: The Council of Deans of Health is a membership organisation and charity representing over 100 UK universities and colleges engaged in education and research for nursing, midwifery, and the allied health professions. At any one time, our members educate around 200,000 current and future professionals and carry out research that improves the population’s health and wellbeing.

Purpose of the Role

Skills & Experience We Are Seeking
We are seeking individuals with senior-level expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Safeguarding & Social Care - senior experience in social work, education, health, early years or family support services, with strong safeguarding expertise.
- Supply Chain, Logistics & Warehousing - experience in logistics, operations, warehousing, fulfilment, or supply chain transformation.
- Digital Transformation & Data Governance - experience delivering digital systems, data governance, cyber security or operational technology.
- Circular Economy & Environmental Leadership - background in sustainability, reuse, recycling, environmental strategy or circular economy innovation.
- Corporate Retail, FMCG & Surplus Partnerships - senior experience within retail, manufacturing or FMCG, particularly in surplus, ESG or supply chain partnerships.
- Social Enterprise & Scale-Up Leadership - experience growing mission-led organisations, trading models or hybrid charities.
We also welcome candidates with strengths in:
- Finance, audit and risk
- Fundraising and philanthropy
- Communications, brand and public affairs
We are seeking Trustees who demonstrate:

Timeline:
- We are recruiting Trustees on a rolling basis to allow flexibility and to ensure we appoint the right people at the right time as the organisation continues to grow.
- Applications will be reviewed as they are received, with interviews scheduled throughout the year.
- Appointments will be made on a rolling basis, with new Trustees formally ratified at the next appropriate Board meeting or Annual General Meeting (AGM), in line with our constitution.
- While we anticipate a number of appointments during 2026, we encourage early applications and expressions of interest at any point.

Herts Domestic Abuse Helpline is a registered charity led by a Board of Trustees.
The Trustees (all unpaid volunteers) act individually and collectively, to provide overall stewardship of the charity, in accordance with our governing document and relevant legislation. In essence we look after the staff, volunteers and the organisation, so they can support the community.

Talkthru is a specialist counselling charity based in Huddersfield, offering free, confidential support to individuals and families affected by pregnancy loss, baby loss and other birth-related trauma.
Our Board of Trustees oversees Talkthru’s strategic direction, governance, and financial health, ensuring that we remain sustainable, ethical, and effective. This is where you come in.
Role Purpose

Parenting for Lifelong Health (PLH) is looking for a motivated and socially-committed legal professional to serve as the legal-focused trustee on PLH’s trustee board.
About Parenting for Lifelong Health
Parenting for Lifelong Health (PLH) aims to empower parents to improve child development, reduce family violence, and promote mental health. We give parents the support they need, the skills that work, and trusted advice they can count on to protect and support their children’s health, safety and development.
Our parenting courses are developed with families, powered by low-cost and accessible technology, backed by rigorous evidence, and delivered within systems. Originally founded as an initiative in 2012 in collaboration with UNICEF and the WHO, Parenting for Lifelong Health was established as a UK charity in 2022 and since then has reached over 8 million families in more than 40 countries.
PLH is seeking a new trustee with a legal background, particularly for UK-based charities, to strengthen its board. This voluntary position is an opportunity to contribute expertise to an organisation committed to improving the lives of children and families worldwide.
This is also a particularly exciting time to join PLH’s trustee board. Our organisation is pursuing a bold ambition to reach over 15 million parents and 25 million children by 2030, delivering a 40% increase in parental engagement in child development, 45% reduction in family violence, and 30% improvement in mental health.
Role
The Legal Trustee will provide expert advice on legal, regulatory, and governance matters to ensure PLH operates in compliance with relevant laws and best practices. Our leadership team is keen to shape the role with the trustee’s input; examples of support the Legal Trustee could provide include:
- Ensuring compliance with charity law, data protection regulations, and contractual obligations
- Reviewing and advising on legal agreements, policies, and governance structures
- Providing oversight on risk management and legal aspects of strategic decisions.
- Supporting the board in addressing legal challenges and ethical considerations.
Responsibilities
In partnership with other trustees, and with the support of PLH senior management, the legal trustee will:
- Ensure that PLH complies with its governing document, UK charity law, and any other relevant legislation or regulations.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of PLH and support its mission and values.
- Oversee financial stability and ensure responsible resource management.
- Provide scrutiny and oversight of PLH’s operations, ensuring accountability and transparency.
- Act as an ambassador for PLH, promoting its work and building relationships with key stakeholders.
- Attend and actively participate in board meetings, contributing to effective decision-making.
- Support risk management by identifying and addressing potential legal and regulatory challenges.

Desired Qualifications
- Qualified legal professional with expertise in charity, corporate, or regulatory law in England.

- Trustees are expected to attend quarterly board meetings (virtual or in-person) and contribute additional time for strategic planning, committee meetings, and advisory support as needed.
- The estimated commitment is 6-10 hours per month.
Term & Remuneration
- The term is three years, renewable for an additional term.
- This is a voluntary role, but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
