Community Action for Refugees and Asylum Seekers (CARAS) is a registered charity that has been supporting refugees and asylum-seekers since 2002 empowering them to integrate and engage in the local community. 

Arriving as an asylum seeker/refugee can be a disempowering experience. Difficulties with language, accessing services and overcoming prejudice are ever-present. As an organisation we are committed to work alongside refugees to overcome those challenges, and to help them build their lives. 

We offer group support and targeted support work. We offer a range of activities including: ESOL classes; social and recreational activities such as youth club, drama, trips, and family activities; educational support for young people; and casework and advocacy support.

About Youth Club:

Youth Club is a place for young people aged 14-19 to come and play games, learn new skills, make and strengthen friendships and build a sense of belonging. Regular activities include classic youth club games such as table tennis, pool, foosball, board and card games.

About the Role:

CARAS is looking for volunteer Football Assistants to support our Football sessions on Mondays, 5.30-7pm in Balham.

Football coaching sessions are led by Fulham FC Kicks programme weekly, supported by CARAS volunteers to offer welcome to young people.

Volunteer tasks and responsibilities

· Welcoming young people to the session;

· Helping young people to register for sessions;

· Join in and be role model for young refugees and asylum seekers;

· Assisting participants to recognise and celebrate their achievements;

· Following FULHAM FC safeguarding policy and CARAS’ confidentiality, safeguarding, health & safety, equal opportunities, data management, online communications and all other policies as relevant.

Requirements:

Essential

· To be 18 years or older;

· To be non-judgemental and able to engage with people from diverse cultural backgrounds;

· To be reliable and punctual;

· Excellent communication skills, especially with people with varying levels of English;

· The ability to volunteer on Monday evenings for a minimum of four months;

· Currently resident in the UK;

- A love of football, and wanting to encourage others to play.

· Able to provide five years’ worth of addresses, and willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check (residency is not necessary if you are a Caras community member who is more recently arrived in the UK);

· Able to attend compulsory volunteer induction training (online) general and safeguarding prior to start of role

· Knowledge of community languages, such as (including Arabic, Tigrinya, Amharic, Pashto, Dari, Farsi, Kurdish, Somali and Spanish).

Bright Futures UK is looking for passionate and knowledgeable Key Stage 3 Science tutors to provide educational support and a fun, safe learning environment for young people living with serious illnesses.

Zambia Orphans Aid UK (ZOA-UK) is looking for part-time volunteers to support our Digital & Communications work. The ideal candidates will have passion for all things digital and an interest in international development. Action Tutoring is a national education charity that offers free maths and English tutoring to pupils facing disadvantage.

Shooting Star Children’s Hospices is seeking an experienced and dedicated academic with a strong interest in paediatric palliative care, or related field to join our Research Governance Committee as a Volunteer Academic Member. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the strategic development of research at a research active children’s hospice, to ensure that our research activities meet the highest standards of integrity, ethics and governance. 

You will work with the Committee Chair, the Research Fellow, and other committee members to support research that makes a meaningful difference to children with life-limiting conditions and their families as well as bereaved families, including those where a child died unexpectedly. 

Appointment to the Committee will be subject to confirmation by the Shooting Star Children’s Hospices Trustee Board.

Duties and key responsibilities

· Participate in quarterly meetings: Attend and contribute to online committee meetings held four times per year (papers and slide deck will be prepared by the Chair). 

· Review research proposals: Provide expert review of project proposals, contributing to the assurance of ethical and governance standards. 

· Support research oversight: Help ensure that all research complies with regulatory and ethical requirements and reflects best practices. 

· Contribute academic expertise: Share your knowledge and experience to strengthen the quality and impact of the charity’s research portfolio.

Job Purpose

The Volunteer SEO Strategy Manager will play a critical role in increasing the visibility, reach, and digital impact of our platform across search engines and online platforms.

You will be responsible for developing and implementing SEO strategies that help our podcast episodes, YouTube content, articles, campaigns, and educational resources reach wider audiences globally.

This role requires strategic thinking, creativity, research skills, digital awareness, organisation, and a passion for mission-driven storytelling and advocacy.

About the Role

The Volunteer SEO Strategy Manager will:

• Develop SEO strategies to increase website and content visibility
• Conduct keyword research related to:
  • whistleblowing
  • trauma healing
  • survivor advocacy
  • youth empowerment
  • institutional accountability
  • social justice topics
• Optimise podcast titles, descriptions, blog posts, YouTube content, and digital campaigns for search engines
• Research audience trends and search behaviours
• Support content discoverability across Google, YouTube, and social platforms
• Collaborate with content creators, editors, outreach teams, and production staff
• Monitor SEO performance and suggest improvements
• Help build long-term digital growth systems and audience engagement strategies

This role requires both analytical thinking and creativity, with the ability to ethically amplify sensitive, truth-based storytelling while respecting the organisation’s values and mission.

Main Responsibilities / Key Duties

• Develop and manage SEO strategies for podcast, YouTube, and website content
• Conduct keyword and competitor research
• Improve organic search rankings and audience reach
• Optimise metadata, titles, descriptions, tags, and website structure
• Analyse performance metrics and recommend growth opportunities
• Support content planning using SEO insights and audience trends
• Collaborate with media, outreach, and production teams
• Maintain organised tracking systems and reporting processes
• Help establish scalable SEO workflows and digital growth systems
