Single Parents Support and Advice Services, we are a Charitable Incorporated

Company with over 35000 members UK wide

Our charity founder and director Nicola Booth in 2012 took the initiative to set up

SPSAS with the purpose to reduce isolation, loneliness, and to promote equal and

fair treatment among Single Parents and their Children. We also aim to help, advise

and support Single / Lone Parents by giving them access to support and services

that normally they would not have access for varied reasons. We also aim to

eliminate the stigma attached with being a single parent in society and across all

ethnicities across the UK. 

Our charity runs solely on donations and all members of our charity including the

director are currently working on a non-paid voluntary basis. Despite these hurdles

We feel we have made a positive impact with our services.

We are seeking Legal advisors to work remotely to conduct research and provide

advice on various areas on law via email to members seeking advice.

Legal Advisor Responsibilities:

 Conducting legal analysis and researching legal matters.

 Providing advice on legal matters.

 Drafting legal opinions, memoranda, and briefing documents.

 Reviewing legal material.

To be considered we require the individual to meet the criteria below

Legal Advisor Requirements:

 Bachelors degree in Law/ currently studying/completed LPC/BPTC

 Strong analytical and research skills.

 Effective interpersonal and communication skills.

 Ability to work well within a team and individually.

 Ability to work long hours when needed.

 Commit to one day a week for a minimum 3-month period

The Volunteer Team Leader / Deputy Team Leader leads the local volunteer team by motivating and supporting members to deliver agreed objectives. The role provides strategic direction, management, and guidance while ensuring a positive, inclusive, and effective team environment.

To lead, motivate and support the local volunteer team in developing, delivering and monitoring a yearly local strategy that aligns with Crimestoppers's vision, mission and organisational priorities.

Cards for Bravery is a volunteer-led charity dedicated to improving the emotional wellbeing of hospitalised, seriously ill and chronically ill children and young people across the UK. We provide a range of services including the distribution of items such as handmade cards, activity packs, care packages and other initiatives designed to bring comfort, connection and support during difficult times.

We're looking for an organised and reliable Administrative Volunteer to help keep the charity running smoothly behind the scenes. Working closely with the Founder and the wider team, you'll provide valuable administrative support across a range of projects and activities helping ensure everything stays organised and on track.

A DBS Check will be required for this role, completed by the charity.

Candidates must hold a relevant laptop/tablet or other IT device to complete this role.

Any relevant expenses will be reimbursed.

Time commitment: Approx. 3 - 4 hours per week (flexible)

Are you a fluent Farsi speaker with a passion for helping others? We are seeking dedicated volunteers to assist women in improving their English language skills. Improving someone’s understanding and spoken English language, will allow individuals to communicate and connect with people in their local community, widen their network of friendships and relationships and provide people opportunity to improve their employability skills.

What you will be doing

• To support people who are not confident with spoken English to develop these skills through conversational English sessions through 1:1 or in small groups.
• Agree a mutual agreeable time and frequency that works for both parties Engage in conversation, allowing the person to feel supported and comfortable to practice speaking English Preparing and delivering sessions independently including setting work and assessing
• To keep records of conversations and update the support worker on progress of sessions.

The skills you need

• Hold a TEFL qualification, or equivalent qualification to support individuals

 Volunteering with Victim Support in Staffordshire

As a Volunteer in Staffordshire your role will include:

·  Making a real impact by helping people affected by crime feel safer, supported, and empowered.

·  Building valuable skills and confidence through specialist training in safeguarding, risk assessment, and supporting victims of crime.

·  Representing Victim Support at local events and community activities, raising awareness and connecting with people who need help.

·  Networking with local organisations and community partners, gaining insight into multi-agency working and referral pathways.

What do we ask of you?

In order to join us as a Service Delivery Volunteer, you must:

·  Be 18 years of age or over.

·  Be able to volunteer for at least 6 hours per week, for at least 12 months.

·  Undertake training over a 10-week period – this includes 7 virtual training days as well as completing a workbook and online learning modules.

·  Undertake an enhanced DBS check & be part of the DBS update service.

·  Be able to provide two satisfactory references.

·  Have an active email address that you are comfortable using in order to engage with VS communications.

Expenses

·  All Victim Support volunteers are entitled to out-of-pocket expenses incurred whilst volunteering, including travel and lunch.

About the role

As our Volunteer Fundraising Lead, you’ll play a central role in helping sustain and grow our work.

We collect surplus food from local businesses and turn it into weekly shopping for families facing food poverty—but to make that happen, we need funding to cover essentials like food top-ups, fuel, warehouse costs and equipment.

You’ll help build relationships, identify funding opportunities and support fundraising activities that keep everything running.

This is a flexible role with real ownership and the opportunity to shape how you contribute.
