Are you a safeguarding professional looking to make a tangible difference in the lives of young Londoners? KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safeguarding Oversight: Provide strategic oversight of safeguarding and child protection across the organisation and report to the Board.
• Policy & Compliance: Ensure safeguarding and child protection policies are up to date, effectively implemented, and meet all legal and regulatory requirements.
• Advice & Support: Act as a point of guidance for the Board and staff on safeguarding matters, including responding appropriately to concerns.

• Safeguarding Experience: Background in safeguarding, child protection, education, youth work, social care, or a related field.

About the Role

We are Buttons & Bubbles C.I.C and our mission is to increase inclusion and representation for disabled families across society. We offer a variety of services including bespoke characters, workshops, free resources, events, sensory trails, and more.

We are looking for volunteers to help us apply for and secure funding to support our valuable work. This role can be done remotely, with no fixed rota, and the amount of time you give is flexible.

Purpose of role

This is an exciting moment to join our organisation. Over the last three years, guided by our new Co-Directors and a collective of dedicated trustees and staff, we’ve shifted our perspective and priorities to centre our community across all the work we do. As a result, they’re our starting point for understanding culture, programming, the venue and everything else. We’re committed to working in long-term, transformative ways to ensure we’re an organisation that’s informed by the needs of now and makes space for a future for everyone. 

As Kami Lamakan steps away at the end of March, we’re looking for an experienced leader who can enthuse a team of trustees and provide clear guidance, mentoring and challenge to the Co-Directors and executive team, confidently advocating for the work we do. Well-connected, you’ll work hard to raise our profile as an international arts centre at the heart of our community, introducing Chapter to people and organisations who’ll support us to achieve our vision for a sustainable future.

You’ll be passionate about art and artists, building community cohesion, and believe that care and equity should sit at the heart of everything we do. You’ll need to balance this commitment with strong financial acumen and leadership experience within the creative, charity or public sectors.

These are challenging times for the arts and we’re looking for someone who can enable us to extend our reach, influence and impact.

Our Friends Ageing Better (FAB) project is looking for volunteer hosts for our FAB cafés around Bristol. In this volunteer role, you’ll be part of creating vibrant, welcoming community spaces that build relationships and connect people with activities in their local community.

At Age UK Bristol, we want to change the way we age. We aim to keep people aged 55+ well and active, encouraging Bristol to be an Age Friendly city. We do this in 3 ways - through providing practical help and supporting people’s emotional and physical wellbeing in a range of ways depending on their needs.  In addition, we want to prevent people from needing our help wherever possible.  We do this in our strategic work, where we aim to create the conditions for older adults to remain healthy and independent.

We are looking for FAB Cafe Host Volunteers for the following cafes

• Avonmouth - Mondays, 2:30-4:30
• Southville - Tuesdays 10:00-12:00
• Withywood - Tuesdays 11:00-1:00
• St Werburghs LGBT+ - Thursdays, 10:00-12:00
• Fishponds - Fridays 2:00-4:00

The role involves

• Welcoming older people who are new to the FAB café
• Facilitating conversation and activities in the group
• Promoting your local FAB café and the FAB membership card scheme
• Keeping sign-up sheets for attendees at cafes
• Providing information about events and activities happening in the local area with the support of the FAB team

The qualities and skills required for this role are

• Welcoming and friendly disposition, with the ability to include people.
• Reliability.
• Ability to communicate well with a diverse range of people.
• Ability to respond to people’s varied access needs (such as hearing loss) to make sure each individual can participate well.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a busy community setting.
• An understanding of the needs of older people.

Join us at Shaw Trust as a Volunteer Sales Assistant and help us raise vital funds to support communities across the UK. As a not-for-profit charity, all our proceeds go to helping people around the UK. 

As a Volunteer Sales Assistant, you will be the friendly face of our shop, making donors, customers and supporters feel welcome. 

You’ll be serving on the till, handling cash and card payments, answering queries and creating a welcoming atmosphere in the shop. 

Our friendly shop team will give you all the training and support you need to make you feel comfortable and confident here. We believe that everyone has something to offer, even if you have no experience in retail.

A charity  based in  Croydon, Surrey, London, UK is looking for volunteer Charity Team Assistants; to volunteer 30 unpaid hours per week. The Charity serves a multi ethnic community especially people from Black and ethnic minority backgrounds. 

Responsibilities:

• To assist GNDFuk's permanent instructors in finding and providing creative forms of engagement for both our youth and adult programmes.
• To assist in project and schedule planning including setting and clearing up 30 minutes before and after projects and events
• To assist in ensuring that activities are executed safely
• To assist in coordinating events and activities to encourage the objectives of GNDFuk

Person Specification:

• Someone enthusiastic and creative who is committed to working towards the achievements of the charities objectives.
• Knowledege of Black and ethnic minority tradition/culture is preferable however not essential.
• Experience is desirable.

This is a non-paid one year temporary position however accommodation and maintenance will be provided.
