Our Shop Volunteers raise money for the people we support with a Learning Disability. Do you have a few hours a week to spare and share your time with us?

Our retail roles are varied and fun. You could be sorting donations from the public, dressing our window or serving customers on the till. There are many people from different walks of life and it's a great way to get practical experience and to meet new people.

This role will take place on a weekly basis for a few hours We will try our best to be flexible around the best time for you, but also need to consider the store opening times and volunteer rota. It could be a weekday or weekend, morning or afternoon, our stores are usually open 7 days a week. We’d appreciate any time that you can spare.

Whilst in the store, you will help with activities based on the needs of the Store Manager. 

**Tasks you could get up to whilst volunteering could include:**

- Serving customers on the till
- Taking stock donations from the public
- Tagging and steaming stock for the shop floor
- Dressing the window displays
- Asking people to join us as a volunteer

Time commitment

Trustees are expected to read all Board papers in advance of meetings and come prepared to contribute. In addition, trustees may receive requests for information or decisions between meetings and are expected to respond in a timely manner: we anticipate that in addition to the meetings outlined above, trustees will need to spend between 2-4 hours per month contributing to CVSCE governance.

Role summary

St Helena is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to be part of their fundraising team, supporting events and initiatives in their local areas to help raise awareness and much needed funds. The role is flexible and we will fit around your availability. We have events throughout the year and would invite you to support across all areas of fundraising. 

Main duties of this role may include any of the following:

• Attend St Helena events to help with marshalling, registration, refreshments or selling merchandise

• Attend external third party events to represent St Helena

• Attend external events and venues to engage with the public to encourage participants to sign up to events and challenges

• Participate in bucket collections and other fundraising opportunities in the local community as requested

• Be able to set up and oversee a stand at events and promotional opportunities in the local community including supermarkets, markets, town centres, fayres, Christmas light switch-ons and similar events

• Promote the charity and inspire people to support St Helena

• Adhere to St Helena policies and procedures at all times

• Represent The Hospice in a professional manner

• Ensure all information is kept confidential and secure at all times

Across the UK, our volunteer groups play a vital part in supporting people affected by MS, bringing people together and connecting our local MS communities.

As a Fundraising Volunteer, you’ll provide much-needed help looking after fundraising relationships, and with fundraising activities and events. You’ll help us look after the supporters who are fundraising for us — to make sure they’re happy and feel part of what we do. You’ll also support us with planning and running events, including preparation and making sure everything runs smoothly on the day.

 Every penny counts when it comes to improving the lives of the thousands of cats and kittens across the UK that need our help each year. Our collection box fundraising volunteers help our volunteer groups raise vital funds by collecting and distributing collection boxes in their local area. Making a difference can mean as little as raising 20p, which is enough to feed one cat in our care for a day, to £150 which is the average cost of a cat in our care.

Time expectation

Our collection box fundraising volunteers usually spend 1 to 2 hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.

The Light Cafe is part of the Salvation Army and is a welcoming community cafe situated just off Bromley High Street.

We are looking for part-time volunteers to help us serve on a regular weekly basis.

We serve a variety of hot drinks, cakes, hot toasties, soups and jacket potatoes, and require someone who is open to lending their hand where needed.  We will provide training where necessary but mainly ask for a willing and a positive attitude!

South West Advocacy Network (SWAN) want to strengthen their Board of Trustees with up to 4 new Trustee appointments. These are voluntary positions and provide opportunity to help SWAN to develop its strategic direction and sustain innovative services to some of the most vulnerable people in our communities.

SWAN began life in Wiltshire and over the past 25 years has expanded into Somerset, Bristol, Dorset, Isle of Wight, West Berkshire, Portsmouth, East Sussex and Worcestershire. We deliver high quality, independent advocacy services supporting a diverse range of vulnerable people. We have developed a model of advocacy which ensures everyone, including the most marginalised, have the same rights and opportunities as their fellow citizens. We work with people from all walks of life and have supported thousands of the most disadvantaged people to have their voice heard and their choices respected by those that are making decisions about their future.

• For the treasurer role some experience of managing and understanding budgets and financial reports would also be required.

Time commitment averages 1 day a month, meeting locations are flexible and either face to face or virtual. Trustee expenses, including travel are paid.

Using their passion and imagination, they oversee a small team of fundraising volunteers who come together to raise the vital funds needed to cover costs such as veterinary bills and food. Our fundraising team leaders support their team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure our volunteers are happy, confident and supported. Activities include:

The Greater Manchester Women’s Support Alliance is seeking new trustees to join our Board, including a Chair and Treasurer.

The Alliance brings together organisations across Greater Manchester that provide specialist support to women facing issues such as domestic abuse, homelessness, mental health challenges, substance use and social exclusion. By working collaboratively, we strengthen services, share expertise and ensure that women’s voices are represented in policy and commissioning.

We are looking for individuals who share our commitment to improving outcomes for women and who are interested in contributing to the strategic leadership and governance of the Alliance.

We welcome applications from people with a range of backgrounds and experience. In particular, we are interested in hearing from individuals with experience in areas such as:
