Age UK Sutton
Trustee Opportunities, and Chair of Quality Committee
Are you passionate about helping older people to be indepent and fulfilled in later life?
Are you willing to give your time, expertise and skills as a Trustee to support our charity in its hugely important mission?
This is a fantastic opportunity to join the board of an impactful and influential local charity, which supports older residents in Sutton by providing valuable advice and support services regarding health, finances and wellbeing.
A Trustee role can be hugely rewarding, as well as helping you to develop and utilise strategic leadership skills, and work with a diverse and dynamic team. You will be supported in your role with a Trustee buddy/mentor and appropriate training.
We are looking for Trustees who can bring their own unique experience and expertise to support the effective governance of our charity. In particular, commercial or social enterprise experience, an accountancy qualification, strong links and networks in the Sutton area, or knowledge of local government or of the health and care sector. An understanding of the charity sector, governance and fundraising would also be beneficial.
We are also seeking an individual who could take on the chair of our Quality Committee, ensuring that our services for older people meet the highest standards, and that our organisational governance is robust. This includes reviewing quality metrics (e.g. safeguarding and complaints), overseeing service development, ensuring older people’s voice in all that we do, and supporting our quality accreditation process.
Closing date Monday 26 October 2026.
Initial interviews to be held on-line 4/5 November, with final in-person interviews on Friday 6th November.
