Our amazing team of volunteers help us run over 100 shops across England and Wales.  Every donated item that you sort, prepare and sell helps to raise vital funds to support us in our mission to make sure no one, no matter how complex their disabilities, is isolated, left out, or unable to fulfil their potential. Our shops are at the heart of local communities – sharing the work of Sense, and helping to secure support for our life changing work.

What your role will involve

There are a variety of tasks that you can get involved with in the shop, including:

• Welcoming and assisting customers, providing great customer service and a fantastic shopping experience
• Receiving donated goods from members of the public
• Sorting, steaming, tagging and preparing donated goods for sale
• Creating eye catching window and in-shop displays
• Keeping the shop floor well stocked, tidy, clean and organised
• Processing sales and serving on the till
• Promoting Gift Aid and other Sense fundraising initiatives
• Acting as an ambassador for Sense; promoting the shop and Sense in your local community
• Supporting with the recruitment and training of new volunteers

• Following new health and safety measures to ensure the safety of everyone

An international child protection NGO headquartered in Cambodia is seeking a volunteer accountant to review and strengthen accounting systems, software and financial management processes.

The organisation works across Southeast Asia, supporting vulnerable children, young people and communities through programmes focused on child protection, education, livelihoods and social inclusion.

The volunteer will work alongside the finance team to assess current systems and support practical improvements across financial management and reporting.

Key areas of support may include accounting systems, software options, financial reporting consistency, internal controls and practical systems improvements across country programmes.

This would suit a volunteer with strong systems and financial management experience, ideally with experience of complex organisations or multi programme environments.

Volunteer Social Media Manager

Giant Football Community Walk

Location: Remote

Time Commitment: Flexible, approximately 3 to 5 hours per week

The Giant Football Community Walk is looking for a volunteer Social Media Manager to help promote our 2026 event and engage with football supporters, clubs, foundations and supporter groups across the North West.

The event will bring together supporters from across the football pyramid for a 42km or 21km community walking challenge. Participants will represent their clubs, raise money for good causes and celebrate the positive role football plays within local communities.

What You’ll Do

• Manage and grow our Facebook and Instagram accounts

• Create and schedule social media content

• Promote participating clubs, supporter groups and charities

• Help recruit walkers, volunteers and supporters

• Respond to messages and engage with online communities

• Share participant stories, fundraising updates and event news

What We’re Looking For

You do not need professional marketing experience.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has good written communication skills

• Is confident using Facebook and Instagram

• Is organised and reliable

• Understands football culture and supporter communities

We are looking for three volunteers to join our team of receptionists and cover our reception once a week for 3.5 hours. 

Our office is just a 10-minute walk from London Bridge, staff are friendly and welcoming, and volunteers tend to stay with us for long periods. Shifts are on Mondays 12:30 - 4:00pm, Tuesdays 9:00 am - 12:30 pm and on Wednesdays 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. Preferably, you will be free to commit to a weekly shift for a least six months, or longer if possible. 

In this role, you will:

• use Outlook to check staff availability and whereabouts 
• screen and transfer phone calls to staff or take message to pass on by email 
• give visitors a warm welcome and ensure they sign in and out 
• respond to requests to send information out, mainly application packs and letters
• assist with outgoing mail, franking and posting 
• help with occasional admin tasks as they arise 

You will need to speak English fluently, to be a good listener and confident screening phone calls; our clients are Scottish and some have strong accents.  Reliability, commitment and good time keeping are a must.

Oxfam's Wigton Shop is looking for Shop Volunteers to help Oxfam’s fight to support the world’s most vulnerable communities.
