We have a range of roles from being a group member, to taking on a lead role such as Group Coordinator, Deputy Coordinator, Treasurer, Merchandise Coordinator or Collection Box Coordinator.

Volunteers needed - Misogyny-Free Schools (MFS)
Help shape a new, parent-powered movement for positive change in primary schools

MFS supports parents/carers and schools to take early, constructive action to prevent harmful gender norms and misogyny, by building parent networks, supporting school engagement, creating practical resources, and amplifying real stories of change. 

We’re looking for 4 volunteers to help shape and grow the movement from the ground up. See the roles below.

1: Community & Communications Lead

Purpose of role: You will create and guide a Whatsapp community for parents, raise the profile and manage MFS’s voice online through storytelling and social media
Skills/experience helpful: Communications, campaigns, community organising, digital engagement, social media including analytics and metrics, compelling writing, storytelling, content creation, canva (or other tools)
What you’ll do: Build and moderate the parent WhatsApp community, develop and deliver communications strategy, shape narrative, tone, voice and messaging, help grow an engaged parent network

2: Web & Digital Builder (short term)

Purpose of role: You will co-design and build the MFS website including the parent and school resource hub
Skills/experience helpful: Web design, no-code platforms (e.g. Squarespace/Wix), UX, digital project setup, website performance tracking, knowledge of GDPR and data protection regulations
What you’ll do: Create an impactful and easily navigable website for parents and schools, organise information and link resources, support the digital infrastructure of the campaign, train up team members to add and adapt content

3: Education Specialist

Purpose of role: You will create tools and support the MFS community on engagement with schools and LEAs
Skills/experience helpful: Education, safeguarding, creating tools, curriculum, school engagement, education policy, experience with LEAs, trusts, ofsted etc
What you’ll do: Identify and curate age-appropriate resources, shape school-facing content, support parents outreach to primary schools, ensure approaches are constructive, supportive and practical

4: Research & Policy

Purpose of role: You will build our evidence base, translate research and policy into accessible insights and actions, position MFS as a credible, evidence-led voice
Skills/experience helpful: Equality, safeguarding, wellbeing, or education policy, ability to synthesize and translate complex research and policy into accessible language
What you’ll do: Build and maintain MFS evidence base, track key UK research and policy developments and produce accessible briefings, inform campaign and strategy with evidence and policy insight

Time commitment: Flexible and realistic (anything upwards of 2 hours / week)

Location: Fully remote (great if we can occasionally meet in person)

Type: Voluntary / unpaid

Style: Collaborative, supportive, values-driven

Tell My Truth and Shame the Devil CIC is a grassroots movement committed to confronting and eradicating Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) across the UK.
We give survivors, families, and allies the power to speak out, heal, and educate communities through storytelling, outreach, and collective action.

We work across all communities — Black, white, Asian, Caribbean, African and beyond — ensuring no survivor feels alone or silenced.

Our CIC operates through a community-driven, volunteer-led structure, built by people who believe in truth, justice, and love as law.

The Role – Social Media Director (Team Lead)

Lead the organisation’s social media function to build an online community, drive engagement, connect with diverse audiences, and use social media metrics to strengthen organisational performance and improve efficiency.
 

Main Responsibilities / Key Duties

• Develop and execute social media strategies that communicate the CIC’s message, increase visibility, and ensure consistency across platforms.

• Build and maintain an active online community, ensuring engagement is respectful, relevant, and supportive.

• Lead and support the social media team, providing guidance, motivation, and opportunities for growth.

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment on projects, messaging, timelines, and organisational goals.

• Maintain quality control to ensure all content is accurate, on-brand, and reflective of the CIC’s values.

• Manage content schedules, ensuring timely planning, production, and publishing across platforms with regular team check-ins.

• Engage with audiences online, responding to comments, messages, and conversations in a timely and professional manner.

• Lead the launch of social media campaigns for awareness, advocacy, marketing, and fundraising.

• Track performance of posts, campaigns, and team progress to measure engagement, reach, and achievement of targets.

• Train and support the team, ensuring clarity on goals, timelines, tools, best practices, and evolving platform features.
   

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 3 years experience in a similar social media leadership role.

• Strong team leadership and management skills.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and community-building capabilities.

• Extensive knowledge of major social media platforms (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X/Twitter, etc.).

• Ability to understand and apply social media analytics, metrics, data analysis, and reporting.

• Knowledge of social media best practices, content formats, platform compliance, charity regulations, and GDPR.

• Skills in social media strategy, content planning, branding, and community engagement.

• Ability to mentor, guide, and support a volunteer social media team.

As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising team leaders have the exciting and varied role of inspiring our fundraising volunteers to plan and deliver local fundraising events. Using their passion and imagination, they oversee a small team of fundraising volunteers who come together to raise the vital funds needed to cover costs such as veterinary bills and food. Our fundraising team leaders support their team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure our volunteers are happy, confident and supported.

Time expectation

Our fundraising team leaders usually spend three to four hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.

We are looking for volunteers to assist our Shop Managers in our brand new shop in Hemel Hempstead

Key Volunteer Activities:

• Assisting with the donations of stock, by sorting and steaming and preparing for shop floor
• Maintaining good stock rotation and levels at all times
• Helping with visual merchandising when needed
• Greeting customers in a friendly and approachable manner
• Understanding the Charities key standards and Values
• Becoming familiar with our Health and Safety Policies and being able to convey these to other volunteers
• Assisting the Shop Manager on daily tasks such as banking and stock takes, recycling and shop rotas
• Maintaining a clean and tidy work place which encourages a happy environment to work in
• Commitment to being part of a regular rota
• Giving any other assistance in relation to the smooth running of the shop as may requested by the Shop Manager
• We also have some specialist retail volunteering roles in our shops and warehouse e.g. helping with e-commerce
• Our shifts are 4 hours but we have a flexible approach so can work around the hours available to you. Regular sign-up to the rota is appreciated. However, ideally we would like you be able to cover 2 or 3 shifts a week

By volunteering with us in one of our amazing retail spaces you will be raising essential funds for Oxfam – all whilst learning new skills and meeting some incredible people.

What you will be doing

• Undertaking shop related tasks agreed with the Manager, for example:
• Selecting, sorting, and pricing donated stock.
• Chatting to customers who drop off donations and other members of the team.
• Preparing stock to be put out on the shop floor, ready for sale.
• Researching valuable and vintage stock.
• Photographing and listing items for the online shop.
• This role may include occasionally lifting boxes. We prioritise a safe working environment and provide comprehensive health and safety training to all volunteers.

Walking Group Volunteers help service users build confidence, improve wellbeing, and reduce social isolation by supporting them to take part in regular group walks in their local community. The role also includes light shopping support—helping individuals access local shops, build independence, and feel more comfortable navigating their community.

What you will be doing

• Encourage conversation, connection, and gentle physical activity in a supportive and friendly environment, helping service users feel safe, included, and confident during walks.
• Create an inclusive, encouraging atmosphere where service users can build social skills, connect with others, and increase self esteem.
• Provide light, practical support with shopping trips, such as visiting local shops before or after walks.
• Help service users plan small shopping tasks (e.g., picking up essentials).
• Lead or co lead regular walking sessions with service users in local parks, streets, and community areas.
• Encourage independence while offering reassurance and support with navigating shops, queues, and payment if needed.
• Assist service users in becoming more familiar with their neighbourhood, including shops, parks, cafes, and community spaces
• Help identify opportunities to take part in local activities that promote independence and wellbeing.
• Report any concerns or changes in a service user’s wellbeing to staff promptly.

Our fundraising event helpers have the exciting and varied role of helping at local fundraising events - such as cakes sales, barn dances, quiz nights – and everything in between

This role is really flexible! You could choose to volunteer at one event for a couple of hours or attend multiple fundraising events.

We’ll keep you up to date with upcoming local events where volunteers are needed. You’ll then be able to choose which events you’d like to volunteer at and how many hours you’d like to give. However much time you can give, your contribution will help raise much needed funds to continue the work of Cats Protection.

Be part of an amazing project to improve connectivity of green habitats around London. Trees are amazing – they capture and store carbon, prevent flooding, reduce heat in summer, reduce pollution, support wildlife and are beautiful too.

The London Tree Ring project aims to involve volunteers in practical tree and hedgerow planting, woodland restocking or related tasks in various locations across London.

We are thrilled to be opening a brand-new Charity Shop in Langney Road, Eastbourne – and we are looking for volunteers to come and join our Team…

Our shops are a hive of activity and the heart of the local community. They raise funds to support our vital work and provide a place for local people to find out more about how we help older people in their area. Our volunteers always enjoy being part of our shop teams; chatting to our customers about the fabulous items we sell and telling them about the fantastic work that we do.

As a Customer Service Volunteer you will get the chance to meet new people and make friends, plus play a vital role in helping to raise funds to support local older people.

You will be working on the shop floor as the welcoming face of our charity. Serving customers with a smile, using the till (don't worry, we will show you how) and handling money and sales.

When people come in to donate items you will be thanking them for their support and helping them to complete Gift Aid signups on our Gift Aid system.

You will help to make our shops look amazing; putting out items that the sorting teams have prepared, helping with merchandising, labelling and ensuring the shop is clean and always looking its' best.

You will need to be ok using a touch screen device as our tills run on a tablet, though we will always provide full training and some time for you to get used to using this first.

Lastly, you may have people enquiring about our work, or asking for help and we will provide you with all the details of where to refer them to within the charity.

It would be ideal if you could volunteer one shift a week, which is about four hours but we're also happy to have more flexible times. No special skills are needed as we will show you what to do and will provide all the training you need.
