We are looking for a creative and user-focused Volunteer Product Designer / UX Designer to help design intuitive, accessible, and impactful digital experiences for StackCIC. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving real problems through design and wants to use their skills to create positive social impact while building real-world experience.

You’ll collaborate with developers, project managers, and non-technical stakeholders to shape products and features that genuinely serve our community.

Our fundraising team leaders have the exciting and varied role of inspiring our fundraising volunteers to plan and deliver local fundraising events. Using their passion and imagination, they oversee a small team of fundraising volunteers who come together to raise the vital funds needed to cover costs such as veterinary bills and food. Our fundraising team leaders support their team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure our volunteers are happy, confident and supported. Activities include:

· Supporting and encouraging a team of fundraising volunteers

What can I expect to be doing? 

As a flexible role, you have the choice to be involved in the following: 

• Face-to-face fundraising – organising or helping with our fundraising events, attending supermarket collections or local markets. 

• Distributing collection tins – popping collection tins into local shops and pubs and collecting them when they’re full. 

• Bringing new ideas! - We always love to come up with new ideas to raise funds for cats and we’d love to help bring yours to life.

How much time is expected of me?

Support, guidance and keeping you safe

What will you be doing?

To support delivery of the E‑Save app, you’ll help recruit, support and coordinate our growing UK‑based volunteer community. You’ll provide administrative oversight for current volunteers, support ongoing recruitment, and help develop volunteer and HR processes.

 Over time, you’ll contribute to policies, engagement programmes, crowd‑sourcing initiatives, and local pilot volunteers.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for UK‑based volunteers with experience in HR, volunteer management, or people operations. You’ll help lead volunteer recruitment, onboarding and training; develop HR and volunteer policies; support engagement and wellbeing; and maintain confidential records. 

You’ll need strong organisational and interpersonal skills, knowledge of safeguarding and data protection, and the ability to support a diverse, remote volunteer team.

About us

We’re part of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets, a national youth organisation empowering 12- to 20-year-olds through flying, adventure training, sports, and leadership development.

West Mercian Wing supports over 900 cadets across 27 squadrons in Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Shropshire, the Black Country, and Cyprus. Each squadron is supported by a committee of trustees who oversee governance, fundraising, and community engagement, helping ensure incredible opportunities for young people.

What’s involved

Being a trustee is a simple but highly impactful way to support your local squadron:

• Attend quarterly meetings (around two hours each)
• Discuss finances, fundraising, priorities, and squadron activities
• Take part in decisions, especially financial and strategic matters
• Support events, networking, or community initiatives

Typical commitment: 8-12 hours per year.

Who we’re looking for

Trustees come from all walks of life. No military, youth work, or charity experience is required. Trustees actively participate in meetings and decisions – there’s no obligation to take on an elected role.

Eligibility:

• Must be 20 years or older.
• Must have lived in the UK for 3 or more years.

Useful skills (optional but welcomed):

• Finance, budgeting, or business management
• Fundraising or grant writing
• Event planning or project management
• Governance, committee, or leadership experience
• Local networks or community connections

We particularly welcome:

The Office of the IYF Secretary-General (OSG) is an integral part of the Executive Office established to inspire and cultivate the next generation of innovative leaders. He/she will research, write and edit speeches, video messages, talking points, forewords, editorials and other materials to position the Secretary-General and the IYF as a global and trusted voice on youth development.

Mission Statement
To voluntarily represent, positively promote, and uphold the mission of “Empowering youth for a better world” in various programs and opportunities throughout the IYF interventions across member countries.

Responsibilities
• Take the lead in strategy, planning, research and production of a wide range of communications materials, including speeches, lectures, statements, articles, op-eds, and other major written contributions.
• Develop and implement a communication work plan for the President/SG, aligned with the IYF Global Strategy and related communications plans, in order to maximize media coverage of the activities of IYF.
• Research and analyze information gathered from diverse sources, including in close coordination with the Department of Public Information, for use in written materials and communications products.
• Seek input and information from senior staff, review relevant material, project documents and reports with a view to drafting and editing speeches, statements and talking points while ensuring policy coherence and accuracy.
• Write opinion pieces and articles on behalf of the President/SG for high-profile media in order to maximize the impact of IYF activities by identifying and developing newsworthy ideas/topics and identifying possible high-profile media for placement.
• Perform other media work-related duties as assigned.

Skills Required:

Executive Speechwriting & Messaging

• Build and maintain relationships with journalists and media outlets
• Pitch op-eds, articles, and interviews to high-profile media platforms
• Maximize media coverage and visibility of senior leadership activities

Strategic Executive Communications Planning

• Develop and implement communications work plans for Senior Management
• Align executive visibility efforts with the Global Strategy and communications objectives
• Monitor opportunities to enhance public positioning and influence

Stakeholder Coordination & Advisory Support

Liaise with internal departments to gather accurate, up-to-date information

• Advise senior leaders on messaging approach and audience positioning
• Ensure consistency across speeches, media engagements, and public appearances

Experience 
Experience within an NGO, INGO (such as the United Nations), charity, government, non-profit, not-for-profit, international relations, international development (such as USAID) or youth empowerment or similar organization is advantageous but not essential.

Trustee – Ukrainian Institute London

Ukrainian Institute London (UIL) is an independent charity dedicated to advancing public education in the United Kingdom by broadening knowledge and understanding of Ukraine. It champions Ukrainian culture and shapes the conversation about Ukraine in the UK and beyond, bringing together experts, creatives, policymakers, and active citizens to explore Ukrainian perspectives on global challenges. Through its programme of public events, projects, educational courses, and digital content, UIL works across the fields of arts, culture, language, and current affairs. The UIL highlights Ukraine’s expertise and experience to emphasise the urgency of international solidarity in support of democratic security in Europe and beyond.

UIL is seeking to appoint two new Trustees. As a Trustee, you will help shape the strategic direction of the organisation, ensure strong governance, safeguard UIL’s independence and integrity, and support its long-term sustainability. Trustees also act as ambassadors for the Institute, helping to build relationships, raise our profile, and support funding and partnership opportunities.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:

• knowledge of Ukraine and its place within wider European and international cultural contexts;

• fundraising and income generation, including trusts and foundations, major donors, corporate sponsorship, or individual giving;

• developing or supporting fundraising strategies; 

• charity governance and trustee experience;

• arts, culture, heritage, or international cultural relations;

• finance, law, organisational development, or strategy;

• communications, marketing, partnerships, or audience development;

• digital engagement and organisational sustainability.

We value a wide range of perspectives and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds.

Time commitment:

• Four Board meetings per year, each approximately 2 hours, plus preparation time.

• Review and input into key governance documents, such as the Annual Report.

• Fundraising support, including meetings with potential donors and strategic advice to the Director and the UIL operations team.

• Attendance at key UIL events, where possible.

• Representation of the UIL at occasional meetings with partners or public-facing events. 

• Occasional ad hoc engagement, such as strategic advice on issues within the individual trustee’s area of expertise. 

Overall, the commitment is expected to average approximately 1-2 days per month ​​(which includes attendance at UIL events) and can easily fit in with other commitments.

This is a voluntary and unpaid role. Expenses are not reimbursed.
