Without the passionate and committed teams of volunteers across Cats Protection we wouldn’t be able to help the thousands of cats and kittens each year that rely on us for help. The purpose of this role is to support the organisation with communications and administration at a local level. You’ll play an active part in the branch committee and support the branch with record keeping and planning, thus enabling more cats to be helped.

What we need from you

You’ll be:

• Disseminating relevant organisation-wide information and updates to the branch volunteers
• Supporting engagement and communication between the branch and wider organisation
• Drafting committee meeting agendas and taking and sharing meeting minutes
• Supporting the efficient running of the branch by ensuring administration processes are carried out effectively
• Supporting the administration and update of the branch annual plan 
• Sign-posting queries from members of the public
• Keeping branch records and information up to date and secure, using Cats Protection systems – training will be provided

Time expectation

Our support volunteers usually spend 2-5 hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.

Emerge Worldwide is seeking a strategic and creative Social Media Lead to lead — and actively deliver — our digital communications.

This role is both strategic and practical. You will design content, publish content, host online discussions and actively manage platforms.

You will lead and set clear strategy, direction and plans for Emerge Worldwide’s Social Media communications, create engaging content, supervise the Team and encourage community mobilisation.

You will work closely with the Communications Deprtamnet and colloborate with the Education, Events & Fundraising and Policy departments and external stakeholders.

Strategy & Direction

• Develop and implement the Social Media & Digital Strategy aligned to campaigns and organisational priorities.
• Set KPIs and growth targets.
• Lead monthly planning meetings and oversee content calendars.
• Manage and support Social Media Volunteers, including performance management / feedback meetings.
• Content Creation, Design & Publishing

Design, create and publish high-quality digital content across platforms.

• Manage day-to-day posting and scheduling.
• Create graphics, reels, videos, carousels, and campaign visuals.
• Capture live content from events where required.
• Ensure all content aligns with brand standards.
• Language, Messaging & Communications Collaboration

Work closely with the Communications Department to ensure:

• Trauma-informed and safeguarding-aware language
• Consistent tone of voice

Alignment with policy and campaign messaging

• Review and refine messaging before publication where necessary.
• Ensure sensitive topics are handled ethically and responsibly and all information meets safeguarding, confidentiality and GDPR standards.
• Cross-Department Collaboration

Collaborate with all Emerge Worldwide departments

• Translate departmental work into engaging digital content.
• Support campaign launches and digital activations.

Analytics & Growth

• Monitor analytics and produce monthly performance reports and feed into quarterly impact reports.
• Optimise content based on insights.
• Grow reach, engagement and supporter conversion.

What are we looking for?

• Experience managing and actively posting across social media platforms.
• Strong graphic design capability (Canva or equivalent).
• Experience creating and editing short-form video content.
• Ability to write compelling, engaging, trauma-informed content.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to transform small snippets of information into interesting and engaging stories suitable for Social Media platforms
• Experience collaborating with communications teams on tone and messaging.
• Experience working across teams and gathering content from stakeholders.

• A motivated, enthusiastic individual who is has proven working experience and is passionate about social media and marketing, and producing tangible results.

What difference will you make?
The Social Media Lead plays a strategic and safeguarding-critical role in advancing Emerge Worldwide’s mission to prevent grooming, sexual exploitation and sex trafficking.

This role is not simply about posting content. It is about shaping narrative, increasing prevention, strengthening partnerships and ensuring that women and girls encounter accurate, trauma-informed information in digital spaces.

Through a clear digital strategy and consistent messaging, the Social Media Lead strengthens Emerge Worldwide’s credibility and national voice. A strong online presence builds trust with survivors, professionals, schools, corporates and policymakers — opening doors for training, partnerships and funding that directly support prevention and empowerment initiatives.

Consistent, high-quality posting has preventative impact. Educational content about red flags, online grooming, coercive control and intersectional vulnerabilities can help young people recognise harmful behaviour earlier. Parents, carers and teachers may identify warning signs sooner. Increased awareness can interrupt exploitation before it escalates.

Collaboration with the Communications Department ensures language is trauma-informed and safeguarding-aware. Sensitive issues are handled ethically, reducing the risk of re-traumatisation and creating a digital environment where survivors feel seen, respected and safe.

Cross-department collaboration ensures campaigns, policy work, education programmes and fundraising initiatives are amplified effectively. This leads to increased attendance at training, stronger campaign mobilisation, greater public engagement and enhanced funding — all of which contribute to tangible protection and support for vulnerable girls and young women.

By analysing performance data, the Social Media Lead helps Emerge Worldwide reach high-risk demographics more effectively. Data-informed decisions improve targeting, engagement and resource allocation, ensuring messaging reaches those most vulnerable.

In summary, the outcomes of this role contribute directly to early identification, public education, cultural awareness and increased access to prevention services. The Social Media Lead helps transform awareness into action — strengthening Emerge Worldwide’s impact in advocating for women and girls against grooming, sexual exploitation and sex trafficking.

Connection Support has a range of services providing support to people at risk of homelessness or on the edge of needing social care. We work with people made vulnerable through debt, mental health issues, substance misuse, learning disability, and physical disabilities.

Volunteers play a key role in the provision of vital services to our clients.

Could you prevent loneliness and isolation in your community and become a befriender?

• Do you have 2-3 hours a week to give to a client suffering from loneliness or mental health? (For a mutual agreement of time and locations that meet clients’ needs)

Our treasurer volunteers maintain the finances of local groups and teams, ensuring they hold the funds needed to continue their vital work. Our current volunteer treasurers usually spend between 2 to 4 hours per week in this role. More hours may be required at certain times, such as towards the end of the financial year but support is always available.

Youth Leaders work directly with young people in St John Ambulance Badger Setts and Cadet Units. By organising a mixed weekly programme, this role will support the learning and development of young people into the next generation of health citizens. Youth Leaders also help young people develop their confidence, teamwork skills, self-discipline, and generally encourage them to strive to be the best they can be, as well as supervise and support other adult volunteers in their team.

Do you want to help the youth of today become the lifesavers of tomorrow? We're on a mission to teach young people across the country how to save lives. It's a chance for them to learn important first aid skills in a fun, friendly, and safe environment. 

St John is one of the largest youth organisations in the country and many of our young volunteers go onto careers in health and/or social care. Being a youth volunteer helps young people develop skills and confidence that go on to help them with further education and university applications. To do this we need dedicated and enthusiastic youth helpers. As a Fundraising Specialist you will be in charge of the following tasks :

Fundraising Strategy Development:
· Collaborate with the team to understand our core programs, budget needs, and funding gaps.
· Research and help develop a comprehensive fundraising plan that identifies the most promising income streams (grants, corporate sponsorships, individual donations, online campaigns).

Grant Research & Writing:
· Proactively research and identify grant opportunities from foundations, trusts, and bilateral/multilateral agencies whose priorities align with our mission in mental health, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), climate action, and girls' education in Uganda.
· Draft compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and concept notes, working with the team to gather necessary data and impact stories.
· Help manage a grants calendar to track deadlines and reporting requirements.

Individual Giving & Crowdfunding:
· Support the development and launch of online crowdfunding campaigns.
· Help brainstorm and implement creative ways to engage and grow a base of individual monthly donors.
· Assist in drafting compelling fundraising appeals (e.g., for email newsletters, social media) in collaboration with the Communications and Digital Marketing volunteers.

Partnership Development:
· Research and help build a pipeline of potential corporate partners, foundations, and philanthropic networks.
· Assist in drafting sponsorship packages and partnership proposals that offer clear value to potential supporters.

Donor Communication & Stewardship:
· Help create materials to thank and update donors on the impact of their contributions (e.g., impact reports, thank-you emails).
· Support efforts to create and maintain strong, long-term relationships with funders.

This opportunity will take be across Hertfordshire, where we meet in the following locations, Hemel Hempsted, Stevenage and St Albans on a Thursday; Hertford on a Tuesday and Rickmansworth on a Wednesday, all at 8pm. The type of events we have historically covered include Stevenage Day, Herts County Day, Watford Football Club, Firework Events and we assist National and State events in London.

Whilst many of the events we cover are at the weekends we do also cover mid-week events.

This role will require an interview, we are looking to run a volunteering interviews from 16th June 2026. Details of times, venue, etc tbc.

Life in a rescue environment is never ideal for any cat compared to a loving home. Our cat adoption team leaders support cat homing and as part of this they may lead a team of volunteer home visitors who collectively play an important part in matching our feline friends with their new families. Our cat adoption team leaders support their team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure our volunteers are happy, confident and supported.

What we need from you

You’ll be:

• Acting as the main point of contact within the team for cat adoption enquiries via email/telephone and social media
• Supporting the adoption process through either homefinder questionnaires or a small team of home visitors
• Liaising closely with other volunteers to ensure information on cats being helped is correct and up to date
• Following up on any post-adoption queries
• Play an active part in the volunteer committee, being part of the team leading on cat adoption information and updates
• Collaborating with the cat welfare team leader to ensure the highest standards of cat care are applied in line with Cats Protection policy and procedures

Time expectation

The cat adoption team leader role is vital within our busy volunteer teams. Our current volunteers spend around 10 to 12 hours per week in this flexible role, which can be shared by more than one volunteer if required.

School governors are people who want to make a positive contribution to children’s education. Governors are needed to support and challenge schools to help realise their potential.

Anyone with an interest in education can be a governor. Governors are volunteers who work to further the school’s development.

The governing board consists of people from the school’s community, parents, school staff and representatives of the council.

Together with the headteacher they set the future direction for the school and decide how the school’s budget should be spent.

CONTEXT

The Women & Families Resource Centre (WFRC) is a registered charity based in

Wolverhampton which supports, empowers and advocates for women and children.

We aim to actively encourage women to be self-reliant, through empowering them to

identify their own needs, make their own choices and create their own solutions. We

offer a baby bank, a charity shop & various community support services to help

women facing crises or challenging situations.

Wolverhampton Baby Bank is a flagship project run by The Women & Families

Resource Centre, a registered charity supporting families with children aged 0-3.

Through donated essentials and community engagement, we provide much-needed

items such as:

• Essential supplies for babies and toddlers, including nappies, wipes, clothing, toys,

and bedding.

• Support services for new parents, including drop-in groups and befriending for

pregnant women and new mothers.

• Referrals and resources to connect families with additional community services.

Scope and Span

The Baby Bank Administrator provides structured administrative support to ensure efficient and organised service delivery.

The postholder will manage incoming enquiries, maintain digital records, support volunteer coordination logistics, and assist in stock documentation and reporting processes.This role requires strong organisation, attention to detail, and professionalism when communicating with vulnerable families and external partners.

• Commit to a minimum of 12 hours per week.

• Attend agreed shifts consistently and provide notice if unable to attend.

• Carry out agreed tasks responsibly, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality at all times.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Client Communication & Frontline Support

• Answer incoming phone calls professionally and compassionately

• Respond to email enquiries in a timely and structured manner

• Manage appointment bookings and referral confirmations

• Provide clear information about Baby Bank services and eligibility

• Maintain confidentiality and safeguarding awareness in all communication

• Welcome visitors and support front desk coordination when required
   

2. Administrative & Digital Systems Support

• Maintain accurate digital records of referrals, appointments, and service users

• Update Charity Log database and internal tracking system

• Support data entry for stock distribution record

• Prepare basic reports for the Baby Bank Manager

• Ensure documentation is organised and up to date

• Assist with digital onboarding documentation for volunteers

3. Volunteer Coordination Support

• Support scheduling of volunteers in coordination with the Manager

• Maintain volunteer attendance record

• Assist in preparing volunteer documentation and review paperwork

4. Stock & Inventory Administration

• Log incoming donations into tracking systems

• Record distributed items against client records

6. Compliance & Record Management

• Ensure data protection compliance in all record keeping

• Maintain confidentiality of client and volunteer information

• Follow WFRC safeguarding, Health & Safety, and Equal Opportunities policies
   

7. General Responsibilities

• Take meeting minutes when required

• Provide administrative support across WFRC services when necessary

• Undertake additional reasonable duties as directed by the Baby Bank Manager

Qualifications

• Previous experience in administrative or office support roles preferred

• Experience in customer service or frontline communication

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

• Comfortable using digital systems and databases
