When:

· Monday to Saturday and Sundays – Am/Pm – 4 hours or just even 2 hours we are very flexible.

What you will be doing:

· Chatting to Customers - giving great customer service on the till.

· Operating the Till

· Keeping the shop floor clean and tidy

· Accepting donations from members of the public

· Assisting with stocking the shop floor

· Full Training and support are given for this role – no prior experience necessary.

You will be vital to the work of your local Scope shop, as one of the first faces customers see.

You will receive training on serving our customers on the till, taking payments and making Gift Aid donations. This makes a real difference to our income and the number of disabled people we can support.

When and where

You will be based at our Scope shop at 64 High Street, Littlehampton, West Sussex, BN17 5EA. We are flexible on the times you would like to volunteer. We’d love your help for as little as 1 hour a week, but if you can give more time that would help us even more.

We're looking for volunteers to assist with the day to day running of our shops located across north east Essex. Volunteer vacancies are available in various shop locations.

Duties of the role include the following:

(Note - Not all the tasks apply to every shop and will be dependent on which shop; type of tasks required for that area and your level of experience)

• Customer service
• Operating till & cash handling
• Signing customers up to Gift Aid scheme & inputting gift aid data if required

• Stock control

• Light cleaning duties and using an iron or steamer to press donated clothes

For coffee shops only:

• Operating coffee machines, serving customers and clearing and wiping down tables
• Ensure good food hygiene, health and safety and fire regulations are adhered to at all times

Training & supervision

• All required training, including till operation, gift aid and health & safety will be provided.
• For coffee shops you will be required to undertake online food hygiene training courses.

Knowledge & experience required

• Some customer service experience would be advantageous
• Ability to remain calm while listening to a customer complaint

RSPCA South London

Our charity shop in the heart of SW17 7TW is looking for a friendly volunteer to join our team and help make our shop a huge success. Make new friends, have fun, and help us help more animals!

As a volunteer Charity Shop Assistant, you would join a small team working with the shop manager and 1-2 other volunteers to help make it a success and raise vital funds for animal welfare.

About Our Charity Shop

The shop plays an essential role in raising the profile of the RSPCA in our local community and funds for our branch so that we can continue our vital animal welfare work. Sherborne Museum is looking for a friendly, organised volunteer to join us as Front of House Team Co-Ordinator. This key role supports our valued team of volunteer stewards and helps ensure a smooth and welcoming experience for our visitors. The main responsibility is to manage the monthly stewarding rota — keeping it up to date and arranging cover when needed. You’ll also support the curator with the recruitment, induction and training of new volunteers, and act as a point of contact for existing stewards, helping to flag any issues or concerns.

What happens next?

After you apply, the manager will ask you to come in for an initial chat. This is not an interview, just a chance to get an idea of what you'd like to do in the shop. From there, you can meet the rest of the volunteer team and get involved with whatever area of the shop takes your interest!

Trustee Role

Carers Support is looking for new Trustees to join our Board. We are seeking people with previous board, committee or senior governance experience who want to use their skills to support unpaid carers and strengthen a respected local charity.

About Carers Support 

We are an independent charity supporting thousands of unpaid carers across Bristol and South Gloucestershire. We provide advice, information, emotional support, training, wellbeing services and young carers support. 

About the role 

As a Trustee, you will: 

• Help set the charity’s strategic direction 
• Ensure the organisation meets its legal duties 
• Monitor performance, risks and finances 
• Bring constructive challenge and independent judgement 
• Support a positive, inclusive and open board culture 
• Help ensure the voices and needs of carers guide our work 

You don’t need to be an expert in every topic. We welcome people who can read papers, ask thoughtful questions and contribute confidently as part of a team. 

What we’re looking for 

We are particularly interested in people with board or senior committee experience, and we welcome applicants from all backgrounds. 

We are looking for: 

• Strategic thinking and good judgement 
• Understanding of governance or senior decision-making 
• Confidence contributing to discussions 
• A commitment to improving the lives of unpaid carers 
• The time to prepare for and attend meetings 

Time commitment 

• 4 board meetings per year (2hours each) 
• Membership of at least one sub-committee (4 meetings per year) 
• Additional committee meetings, events or development sessions, as required 
• Most meetings take place early evening, online or in person.
