Our fundraising team leaders have the exciting and varied role of inspiring our fundraising volunteers to plan and deliver local fundraising events. Using their passion and imagination, they oversee a small team of fundraising volunteers who come together to raise the vital funds needed to cover costs such as veterinary bills and food. Our fundraising team leaders support their team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure our volunteers are happy, confident and supported.

· following policies and guidelines and ensuring licences and permits are obtained for events

Time expectation

Our fundraising team leaders usually spend three to four hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.

About the role:

To design and maintain secure, usable digital systems that support operations, safeguarding and collaboration, enabling the CIC to function efficiently and scale responsibly.

The Purpose of This Role:
The Digital Marketing Director is responsible for designing, leading, and operationalising the CIC’s entire digital growth and outreach strategy during its founding phase.
This role exists to:

• Translate the CIC’s mission into measurable reach and engagement
• Build ethical digital pathways for donors, volunteers, ambassadors, and members
• Create infrastructure that allows the organisation to scale without losing its soul

You will not be inheriting a finished system. You will be helping to design it.

Core Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership

• Design and own the organisation’s digital marketing strategy aligned to 2026 goals
• Define how digital channels support fundraising, membership, volunteering, and campaigns
• Set priorities across email, landing pages, CRM journeys, and paid campaigns

Operational Delivery

• Oversee digital marketing systems including:
  • Email marketing and automation
  • Landing pages and conversion journeys
  • CRM integration (e.g. CiviCRM or equivalent)
• Ensure campaigns are planned, executed, tracked, and reviewed
• Work closely with Social Media, Fundraising, Membership, and Digital Systems teams

Growth & Campaigns

• Lead digital campaigns for:
  • Donor acquisition
  • Volunteer and ambassador recruitment
  • Community engagement
  • Programme launches
  • Ensure all growth activity is ethical, trauma-aware, and values-aligned

Data, Learning & Improvement

• Monitor performance metrics and conversion data
• Use insights to refine systems and campaigns
• Contribute to organisational learning and long-term sustainability planning

Founding Responsibility

• Help design the future paid digital marketing department
• Document systems, workflows, and decision logic
• Act as a steward of ethical digital practice within the CIC

 
What This Role Requires
You must:

• Be aligned with the CIC’s mission, values, and anti-capitalist stance
• Be willing to commit at a founding level during the unpaid build phase
• Be able to work with incomplete systems and help build structure
• Be comfortable collaborating across multiple teams

You should bring experience in some of the following (placeholders for HR to refine):

• Digital marketing strategy and execution
• Email marketing and automation systems
• CRM-based journeys and segmentation
• Campaign planning and optimisation
• Working with limited budgets in non-profit or purpose-led settings

Formal qualifications are not required.
Equivalent professional or lived experience is acceptable.

Fundraising Events Organiser Volunteer

Would you like to be part of a dedicated and friendly team of volunteers and make a real difference to the lives of cats and kittens in our care?  Do you enjoy planning and organising for events?  Maybe you have a particular skill that you would like to put to use?

Our Fundraising Events Team are at the heart of what we do, raising essential funds for the cats. 

Our Fundraising Events Organisers share ideas, tasks and inspiration, planning and delivering local events, with the support of the Fundraising events helpers, such as Open Days (usually 2 per year) at the centre and our annual Christmas Bazaar. 

Time Expectation:  This role can be varied and time commitment can be flexible. 

Without volunteers, Cats Protection Berkshire Cat Centre simply wouldn't exist. Our amazing, friendly volunteers are a diverse group with a shared love of cats who fit volunteering around their home lives and personal commitments.

We're often looking to welcome new volunteers to join our brilliant team. As well as meeting great people and making an incredible difference to the cats of Berkshire.

Please note:  Although we do welcome everyone, unfortunately our centre is not set up to accommodate young volunteers under the age of 18, including those on the Duke of Edinburgh programme.

Join us at Shaw Trust as a Volunteer Sales Assistant and help us raise vital funds to support communities across the UK. As a not-for-profit charity, all our proceeds go to helping people around the UK. 

As a Volunteer Sales Assistant, you will be the friendly face of our shop, making donors, customers and supporters feel welcome. 

You’ll be serving on the till, handling cash and card payments, answering queries and creating a welcoming atmosphere in the shop. 

Our friendly shop team will give you all the training and support you need to make you feel comfortable and confident here. We believe that everyone has something to offer, even if you have no experience in retail.

Our shops are at the heart of local communities raising vital funds for our fight against homelessness and bad housing - and they’re powered by our volunteers!

Suggested Involvement: It’s up to you! We have volunteers who support for one hour a week and others who volunteer more. Many people volunteer for a morning or an afternoon each week, but we’ll have a chat about your availability after you’ve applied.

Availability: The shop is open Monday - Saturday 10:00-18:00 and Sunday 11:00-17:00

What can I do?

• Volunteering in the shop

Our retail volunteers are in the middle of it all, and there’s plenty to get involved with. You might be sorting stock, engaging with customers, ringing items through the till, creating fantastic window displays or keeping our shop floor looking organised.

- You will not undergo a criminal record check for this role  

• Volunteering in the community

Our Van Driver’s mates are out and about supporting drivers with delivering and collecting stock throughout the local area. They play a key part in getting donations to and from shops. This role does require the ability to lift heavy items. 

• Volunteering in a leadership role

Our volunteer supervisors help with overseeing the running of our shop and creating a fantastic environment for our customers. You may be involved with coordinating and supporting other volunteers, operating computer systems, and being a key point of contact for the shop.

Skills and Experiences Required:

We welcome applications from people with a wide range of skills and experiences. You don’t need to have volunteered or worked in a shop before as full training will be provided. What’s important to us is that you are a team player, open to learning and willing to follow Shelter’s policies and can be an excellent ambassador for Shelter. We particularly welcome applications from people with lived experience of bad housing or homelessness.

This role involves being an active member of the North Northumberland and Scottish Borders Fundraising Group, working alongside fellow volunteers to arrange fundraising events in the local community. You would attend regular group meetings in Milfield to discuss upcoming activities and ensure plans are in place for events throughout the year.

You’ll deliver fun and inspiring talks to local groups, schools, and clubs, sharing the incredible impact of our assistance dogs and the lives they change. This role offers flexibility, is deeply rewarding and perfect for confident communicators. We provide all the training, support, and materials you need to make a meaningful impact in your community.

About the opportunity

This role involves providing talks to a variety of groups, schools and organisations within your local area, raising awareness and promoting our fundraising activities.

There is no minimum commitment for this role. Times can vary, and you can choose which talks you attend. Talks primarily take place during the week, with some evenings. The length of each talk will vary depending on the group’s requirements.

You will be provided with speaker training before beginning this role. Talk requests are handled by the Canine Partners fundraising team; however, we would encourage you to secure your own talks within your local area.

• Giving talks about the charity to groups, schools and organisations in your local area
