The Community Ambassador Volunteer role is a flexible, people-focused role where you'll represent MumsAid at local events, community fairs, business engagement opportunities, and awareness-raising activities. Acting as a friendly and knowledgeable ambassador, you'll help share information about our services, fundraising activities, and volunteering opportunities, helping more people learn about MumsAid. 

No previous experience is required. We will provide training, resources, and ongoing support to help you feel confident representing MumsAid in your community. 

What will you be doing? 

• Representing MumsAid at local community events, fairs, markets, business events, and awareness-raising opportunities. 

• Acting as a friendly and welcoming point of contact for members of the public. 

• Talking to people about MumsAid's services and the support available. 

• Sharing information about volunteering, fundraising, and ways to get involved with MumsAid. 

• Distributing leaflets, promotional materials, and information resources. 

• Helping raise awareness of perinatal mental health and the support available through MumsAid. 

• Answering general questions about MumsAid and signposting enquiries to the appropriate staff member where needed. 

• Gathering feedback, questions, and community insights to share with the MumsAid team. 

• Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and welcoming presence for MumsAid within the local community. 

• Following MumsAid's policies and procedures, including safeguarding, confidentiality, health and safety, and equality and diversity guidance.

Volunteering in the shop
Our Holywood, Belfast Shop Volunteers are in the middle of it all, and there’s plenty to get involved with. You might be sorting and pricing stock, engaging with customers, ringing items through the till, creating fantastic window displays or keeping our shop floor looking organised.

It’s up to you how much you commit. We have volunteers who support for a couple of hours a week and some do more. Many people volunteer either a morning or an afternoon each week - this is something that will be discussed at the selection stage, after you’ve applied.

It’s a great opportunity to visit the shop, meet some of our existing volunteers and have a go at some of the tasks that you would be supporting with as a shop volunteer. Hopefully allowing you to get a feel for the role and make sure it’s for you. We also ask for a couple of references (these don’t have to be formal workplace ones, just someone who has known you for over 6 months and isn’t related).

Buttons & Bubbles C.I.C working to increase inclusion and representation to the disability community. We are hosting a Christmas extravaganza for disabled families in Windsor and Woking this November and December. We aim to bring the magic and sensory aspects of the festive period but in a relaxed environment, where everyone understands. Are you a HR professional? Could you give an hour a week to tackle pregnancy and maternity discrimination? Then we need you!

Every year our fantastic HR Advice Line volunteers speak to hundreds women and parents experiencing challenges or pregnancy and maternity discrimination at work. The Advice Line provides hours of free support and HR advice every week, however the demand for the service is high and we know that getting through can be difficult. That’s why we’re trialling a new online Advice Forum to help improve access to support and flexibility of our volunteer roles. But before we can make the forum public, we need to bring in a team of volunteers who are ready and waiting to answer questions. 

We are looking for knowledgable HR professionals who want to tackle the Motherhood Penaltyand support mothers and parents by becoming an Advice Forum Volunteer.

As a volunteer advisor you’ll give an hour a week of your time to respond to questions on the Advice Forum. You’ll use your HR knowledge and experience to respond to posts and give advice that can help people identify and challenge pregnancy and maternity discrimination in the workplace. You’ll also be joining us at the start of this brand new service and will have an essential role in helping us monitor, evaluate and learn from the forum trial, with the goal of establishing it as a permanent PTS Support Service. 

About the role

Role Title: Advice Forum Volunteer

Time Commitment

The Advice Forum will be available online 24/7, and so volunteering as a forum advisor is flexible and can fit around your schedule. We ask that you are able to commit at least one hour a week for a minimum of three months.

Alternative time commitments can be considered and discussed, so please do include any information that might be useful in your application form.

Main Role Purpose

Advice Forum Volunteers play a vital role in providing accessible support and guidance to working parents facing unfair treatment or discrimination in the workplace. Volunteers will respond to forum questions and posts, offering advice and signposting information about employee rights. You will also coordinate with the PTS staff team and other volunteers to ensure all forum questions are responded to, and will have the opportunity to contribute to the forum’s development.

Essential requirements

• Minimum CIPD level 5 Diploma in People Management with one professional reference.
• Knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and policies related to pregnancy, maternity leave, and discrimination.
• Access to a reliable and secure WIFI or Internet connection and a mobile device or computer/laptop.
• Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and concisely.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Comfortable using online communication tools.
• Commitment to completing all required volunteer training.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to forum questions from individuals seeking support and advice.
• Provide HR advice and guidance in a clear and concise way to support forum users with their enquiries.
• Signpost to further information and other support organisations if necessary.
• Maintain professionalism in all interactions, adhering to all Pregnant Then Screwed guidelines and policies.
• Complete all training required by PTS.

RNIB has been invited to create a show garden for the RHS at their new venue for 2026 – RHS Flower Show Sandringham. The garden is supported by Players of the People’s Postcode Lottery and we’re working with Paul Hervey-Brookes, an internationally known garden designer and RHS judge to create an accessible, sensory space that celebrates talking books and gifts in wills. Gifts in Wills are a very special way of giving and account for more than a third of RNIB’s annual income.

We’re looking for volunteers with excellent communication skills, lots of enthusiasm and who enjoy talking to people about the work of RNIB. An interest in gardening would be advantageous but not essential.

The dates are the 22-26 July 2026 for a minimum of one day and will be held in the grounds of the royal family-owned Norfolk estate in Sandringham. The days will be busy and varied and could include:

• talking to members of the public
• handing out merchandise
• helping supporters in the garden

How you will be supported in your role:
Training will be given before the show and there will be members of staff on hand throughout the duration of the show.

Our Gardener Volunteers support our homes by helping to maintain their outdoor spaces through weeding, pruning and planting, so that the people we support can enjoy spending time in a beautiful environment. 

We are currently looking for volunteer gardeners for one of our services, who can support with the following tasks:

• Create planters

• Provide general maintenance of our gardens

• Watering, planting, weeding and pruning

• Maintaining flower beds

• Creating/improving/maintaining our sensory garden spaces

Skills required 

In order to become one of our gardener volunteers you will be:

This friendship group was started to provide opportunities for people with learning disabilities to make friends, go on monthly trips and overall have a lot of fun. You can help us make that happen!

An opportunity is available to volunteer at a friendship group for adults with learning disabilities No prior experience is required. Enthusiasm, willingness to learn, and a supportive attitude are what matter most.

Projects You May Support

Volunteers can choose to help with one or both projects:

1. Friendship Group

• When: Every Tuesday during term time, 1:30pm–4:30pm
• Where: Canning Town Library

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting participants during various activities (e.g., reading tasks).
• Encouraging communication and helping build friendships.
• Boosting confidence through positive interaction.
• Assisting with setting up and packing away activities.
• Helping individuals get refreshments.
• Building trust through calm, kind engagement.
• Reporting any concerns, incidents, or disclosures to staff.

2. Joy Hub

• When: Usually the last Tuesday of each month during term time (timings may vary; activities announced up to 4 months in advance).
• Purpose: Monthly free outings planned by the Friendship Group—examples include bowling, cinema, theatre, and museum visits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensuring everyone feels included.
• Encouraging individuals to participate and build confidence.
• Helping with practical tasks such as navigating meeting points, refreshments, and transitions between activities.
• Building rapport through supportive, calm interactions.
• Reporting any concerns or incidents to staff.

Are you a big football fan who enjoys playing football as well as watching it?

We are looking for volunteer football enthusiasts to both play football and enjoy talking all things football with someone with learning disabilities and or autism.  As a volunteer you will need to be able to volunteer for a couple of hours each week.

What does the role involve?

Our football volunteers will enjoy spending time having a kick about, perhaps watching a game on TV and perhaps having a post-match discussion. Trips to watch the odd live game would also be an enjoyable experience for the people we support.

Registered as The Royal School for the Blind, SeeAbility is one of the oldest disability charities in the UK. This year we are celebrating our 225th anniversary, having pioneered specialist support across multiple generations since 1799!

We specialise in supporting people who have learning disabilities, autism, complex needs, who may also have sight loss. Our support ranges from providing person-centred support across our many supported-living and residential care provisions. Furthermore, we provide specialist eye-care services to children and adults alike and assists people to find paid employment for the very first time.
