Become an awareness volunteer with Prostate Cancer UK, and help educate and empower those in your local community!
Community awareness volunteers are an integral part of our mission, spreading the word within their local communities about prostate cancer risk and passionately advocating to make sure that no man dies of prostate cancer. You’ll help us raise awareness of prostate cancer through talks, and information stands. By sharing relevant and up to date information and, where appropriate, your own experiences, you'll help people better understand prostate cancer and where to go for support and information. You'll predominantly find your own opportunities, building connections with local communities and organisations, meaning you can set the pace for your volunteering.
You’ll join the vibrant Prostate Cancer UK community, part of a motivated organisation driving life-changing research, improving the prostate cancer pathway through lobbying government and collaborating with the NHS, and informing people across the country on their risk of prostate cancer. You’ll deliver awareness talks and information stands at local events, and if required you’ll support the Community team with opportunities to raise awareness. There is no need for you to have a background in healthcare, you’ll receive the training to deepen your knowledge of prostate cancer risk and be buddied up with an experienced volunteer who will help you build your confidence.
For more information about becoming an awareness volunteer with Prostate Cancer UK we're running an info webinar on Tuesday 27th October 2026 19:00 - 20:00 where you'll hear from the team and existing volunteers about the role. More details can be found on the application page.
