The difference you will make to cats and people

As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising volunteers use their passion for cats and people to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need. As a fundraising volunteer we want to support you to fundraise in whatever way suits you best, whether that’s organising a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, completing administration or supporting the development of new fundraising ideas! Whatever your skill set, this could be the role for you!

What we need from you

This is a really flexible role, you can choose what you’d like to get involved with, for example: 

• face-to-face fundraising. Organising or helping with fundraising events, running supermarket collections and fundraising stands, monitoring collection tins 

• online fundraising. Setting up online appeals and writing impactful cat case studies that maximise donations

• marketing. Spreading the word about our fundraising activities, for example on social media and with the local press  

• completing administration. Processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, completing Gift Aid paperwork

● championing our work. Getting involved with developing new fundraising ideas and increasing community engagement

● photography. Capturing images of cats in care, cats we are helping, events and all things Cats Protection

Time expectation

This is a flexible role that can fit around your other commitments to suit you. You’ll be part of a team raising vital funds while having fun in the process!

Food Service Volunteers

Enthusiastic, hands-on volunteers needed to help provide food to the community. A key role, you will work at the main hub of the food bank and help the food service run as smoothly as possible. An exciting opportunity to make a real, immediate impact to those in need of support. 

Hours: Thursdays, a range of shifts from 9:30am - 6pm

Book shifts to suit your own schedule! No requirement to sign up for the same shift each Thursday or to volunteer consecutive weeks.

About Bounds Green Food Bank: 

Open since June 2020, we serve over 1,500 children and adults in the community. We are committed to improving lives by providing food and essential household items to build a healthy, hunger-free tomorrow. We strive to promote social inclusion by supporting people who find themselves in a crisis situation where they need assistance to feed themselves and their families.

Person specification: 

• Aged 18 or above

• Have a basic understanding of spoken English

• Available on Thursdays 

• Able to travel at your own expense (no parking is available)

• Patient and flexible - you will help on different sections on each shift and may need to switch during shifts too

• A team player - the food bank is run completely by volunteers, so we require enthusiasm and cooperation

• Willing to attend training - The Orientation Tour is required before you join us, but other training may be offered.

• Understands and is sensitive to the challenges and difficulties faced by guests accessing the food bank e.g. food and fuel poverty, feelings of shame and embarrassment, language barriers.

The role: 

• Take in deliveries and count stock at the start and end of the day (depending on your shift time)

• Help with setting up the food service, including getting food out of storage and onto the service tables, decanting and repacking items and replenishing goods when needed. 

• Warmly welcome guests, serving them the number of items advised by Section Leads and Food Service Coordinators during each shift. 

• Follow food bank policies including Health and Safety procedures e.g. wearing gloves when handling fresh food and lifting boxes safely. 

• Keep the hall safe throughout the food service e.g. tidying away boxes and keeping walkways clear.

Volunteering in the shop

Mary's Living & Giving for Save the Children is unique - a vibrant result of the generous gifts of local individuals and companies being turned around by the skills and passions of volunteer teams, to create a destination retail experience. Selling womenswear, menswear, shoes, and bags to household goods, our shops can be found in the London villages and bring in vital funds for Save the Children.

Our Little Venice Shop Volunteers are in the middle of it all, and there’s plenty to get involved with. You might be sorting and pricing stock, engaging with customers, ringing items through the till, creating fantastic window displays or keeping our shop floor looking organised.

It’s up to you how much you commit. We have volunteers who support for a couple of hours a week and some do more. Many people volunteer either a morning or an afternoon each week - this is something that will be discussed at the selection stage, after you’ve applied.

East London Rape Crisis provides a range of support services to women and girls affected by sexual violence; including an Information & Support service, counselling, advocacy and group workshops

About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to become part of our team.

Our volunteers support women through our Information & Support Services, providing emotional and practical support to survivors of sexual violence, their friends, family and other professionals via telephone and email support. There are also opportunities to support the team with administrative tasks that do not involve direct contact with survivors.

You will get:

• The opportunity to provide invaluable support to survivors of sexual violence from within a feminist framework
• The opportunity to volunteer within a leading, London-based violence against women organisation
• Full supervision & support
• Internal training on violence against women, safeguarding, helpline skills, organisational systems & policies
• A professional reference against the advertised Volunteer Profile that can be used for future employment.

Volunteers will:

• Have an interest in, and understanding of, issues relating to male violence against women and girls
• Have good IT skills
• Align with nia values

Volunteers must:

• Be available for one of the below interview dates and all of the below training dates
• Be able to commit to in person volunteering for 4 hours per week for a minimum of 12 months
• Be able to commit to attending monthly team supervision. This currently takes place on line on the first Monday of each month from 18:00- 19:30pm (includes training and development opportunities).

We’re looking for friendly, community minded volunteers to help make sure people across our area can easily find information about Dorothy House. By placing leaflets, posters and resources in the right places, you’ll help more people learn about the care and support we offer. You can also help by attending events such as local fairs, markets, small gatherings and networking meetings. You’ll be part of the team that brings our message directly to the public.

This role is incredibly valuable — every leaflet placed in the right spot helps someone feel more informed, supported, or connected.

Your friendly presence helps people learn about our work, ask questions, and feel connected to the care we provide. It’s a simple but powerful way to support fundraising and raise awareness across our community.

What you will be doing

• Distributing Dorothy House leaflets and posters in local shops, cafés, community venues and NHS settings
• Keeping an eye out for new places where information could be displayed and letting us know where Dorothy House is underrepresented so we can improve our reach
• Building light, friendly relationships with staff and community contacts
• Feeding back anything useful you notice while out and about
• Attending community events, fairs, markets, and local gatherings
• Supporting Dorothy House information stalls
• Chatting to members of the public, answering simple questions, sharing how they can support our work and passing on anything requiring further follow up
• Working alongside staff and other volunteers to make events run smoothly

Summary of Role

The Volunteer Director of Individual Giving at Solution Community plays a key role in strengthening Solution’s financial sustainability by developing, implementing, and managing strategies to cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors. This role is responsible for growing our annual giving program and building lasting relationships with our supporters, directly impacting our ability to achieve our mission. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced fundraising professional to contribute their expertise and passion to a cause they believe in.

Key Responsibilities:

Annual Giving Program Management:

• Develop and execute comprehensive annual giving campaigns (e.g., year-end appeals, spring campaigns, monthly giving programs) across various channels (direct mail, email, social media, online).

• Set realistic fundraising goals for individual giving and track progress toward them.

• Analyze campaign performance and recommend adjustments to maximize impact.

• Identify opportunities to expand the donor base and increase donor retention rates.

Donor Cultivation and Stewardship:

• Identify, research, and qualify prospective individual donors.

• Develop and implement personalized cultivation and stewardship strategies to engage donors at all levels.

• Oversee timely and meaningful donor acknowledgment and recognition.

• Act as a primary point of contact for a portfolio of key individual donors, building strong, lasting relationships.

Data Management and Reporting:

• Ensure accurate and up-to-date donor records in the organization's CRM system

• Generate reports on donor acquisition, retention, gift size, and overall individual giving performance.

• Utilize data to inform strategies and identify trends.

Strategy and Collaboration:

• Collaborate with the Development team and other leaders to align individual giving strategies with the organization's overall goals and fundraising priorities.

• Identify and recommend best practices in individual giving and annual fund development.

• Potentially recruit, onboard, and manage a small team of volunteer fundraising support staff, if applicable.

• Represent the organization professionally and enthusiastically to donors and prospects.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience (7+ years preferred) in individual donor fundraising, annual giving, or a related development role.

• Demonstrated success in developing and executing annual giving campaigns.

• Strong understanding of donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship best practices.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling fundraising appeals and donor communications.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with major donors, understand their motivations, and align their giving with our organizational mission.

• Experience developing and implementing successful major gift strategies, including setting goals, tracking progress, and adjusting strategies based on outcomes.

• Ability to craft compelling narratives that communicate the impact of Solution Community’s work and inspire philanthropic support.

• Ability to lead and inspire a team and work cross-functionally with other departments to achieve fundraising goals.

• Familiarity with ClickUp, Slack, Google Workspace, and other digital tools for project management, communication, and scheduling.

We’re looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to help look after Dorothy House donation boxes in their local area. These small but mighty boxes are found in community shops and buildings, and help to raise thousands of pounds each year. With your help we can make sure they’re always in the right places and well looked after.

This is a simple, flexible role that makes a big difference close to home.

Income from our shop collection boxes raises over £35,000 every year, and with help, this figure could be much higher. It is also an amazing way to create lasting relationships with businesses situated in the heart of our community - businesses that help promote other valuable Dorothy House news and events. Please help us keep our collection boxes visible so we can continue to raise vital funds for end-of-life care.

You’ll volunteer in your own local area, choosing routes and venues that suit you, with support from the Dorothy House team whenever you need it.

What you will be doing

• Checking in on donation boxes in local shops, cafés, and community venues (small collection boxes you often see beside shop tills).
• Swapping full boxes for empty ones and depositing the cash using our secure local systems
• Spotting new places where a box could be placed
• Building light, friendly relationships with staff and thanking them for their support
• Sharing Dorothy House leaflets or information when appropriate

Volunteer Drivers 

Enthusiastic, hands-on volunteers needed to help provide food to the community. Bounds Green Food Bank is fortunate in receiving food and other donations from local supermarkets, businesses and individuals. We are grateful to our team of volunteer drivers who both collect and deliver on the food bank’s behalf each week. 

Hours: At any time during the week - this is a very flexible role and there is no minimum time commitment, can choose deliveries to suit your own schedule.

Location: Around the Enfield and Haringey area

About Bounds Green Food Bank: 

Open since June 2020, we serve over 1,500 children and adults in the community. We are committed to improving lives by providing food and essential household items to build a healthy, hunger-free tomorrow. We strive to promote social inclusion by supporting people who find themselves in a crisis situation where they need assistance to feed themselves and their families.

Requirements:

• A driver's license and your own vehicle

• WhatsApp, as this is how deliveries are organised

The role: 

• Each week a timetable showing scheduled food donations by local stores and businesses is posted on the volunteer drivers’ WhatsApp group

• Drivers indicate to the group that they are able to make a particular collection, adding their name to the schedule (this is editable by all chat members)

• Once collected, the donation will need to be delivered either to the hall or to a nearby storage facility according to instructions

• The food bank also makes up parcels for guests unable to access the hall in person. Drivers collect from the hall and deliver  to guests, all of whom live within the surrounding area

We’re passionate about what we do, and love giving second-hand clothing a chance of going to a good home. Our shop teams are key to raising vital funds for our work and act as incredible advocates for the rights of children both in the UK and around the world.

Volunteering in the shop

Our Pebbles Shop Volunteers are in the middle of it all, and there’s plenty to get involved with. You might be sorting and pricing stock, engaging with customers, ringing items through the till, creating fantastic window displays or keeping our shop floor looking organised.

It’s up to you how much you commit. We have volunteers who support for a couple of hours a week and some do more. Many people volunteer either a morning or an afternoon each week - this is something that will be discussed at the selection stage, after you’ve applied.

What happens next?

After you’ve filled in an application, we will invite you for an informal trial shift. It’s a great opportunity to visit the shop, meet some of our existing volunteers and have a go at some of the tasks that you would be supporting with as a shop volunteer. Hopefully allowing you to get a feel for the role and make sure it’s for you. We also ask for a couple of references (these don’t have to be formal workplace ones, just someone who has known you for over 6 months and isn’t related).

Key Responsibilities

Leadership Development & Training

• Design and implement leadership training curricula, workshops, and coaching programs that cultivate inclusive, equitable, and socially conscious leaders.
• Partner with senior leaders to identify skill gaps and align learning and development (L&D) strategies with organisational objectives.
• Facilitate dynamic workshops on topics like anti-bias leadership, conflict resolution, and change management.

Instructional Design & Content Development

• Create engaging, accessible learning materials, including e-learning modules, facilitator guides, videos, and assessments, using tools like Articulate 360 or Adobe Captivate.
• Embed D&I principles and social justice themes into all content, ensuring cultural relevance and representation.
• Develop microlearning resources and toolkits to support continuous, self-directed learning in a remote environment.

AI-Enhanced Instructional Design

• Using various platforms, create dynamic, AI-generated content (e.g., simulations, scenario-based learning), and adaptive e-learning modules.
• Build AI-driven assessments and feedback loops to measure knowledge retention and behavioural change.

Onboarding & Integration

• Lead the design and delivery of induction programs that immerse new hires in QuilomboUK’s mission, values, and D&I commitments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure onboarding content reflects role-specific and cultural integration needs.
• Monitor new hire feedback to refine onboarding experiences and reduce time-to-productivity.

Training Evaluation & Continuous Improvement

• Measure training effectiveness using key performance indicators (KPIs) such as engagement rates, knowledge retention, and behavioural change.
• Analyse feedback surveys, LMS data, and performance metrics to identify gaps and iterate on content.
• Stay ahead of L&D trends (e.g., gamification, AI-driven learning) to innovate QuilomboUK’s programs.

D&I Integration

• Ensure all learning initiatives prioritise equity, cultural competence, and trauma-informed approaches.
• Partner with ERG (Employee Resource Group) leaders to co-create programs that address systemic inequities.
• Advocate for accessible learning design, including accommodations for neurodiverse individuals and those with disabilities.

Qualifications

• Experience: 3+ years in L&D, instructional design, or leadership development, ideally within mission-driven or D&I-focused organisations, with hands-on experience using AI tools.
• Skills:
• Expertise in e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Canva) and LMS platforms.
• Strong facilitation and storytelling skills for remote and hybrid audiences.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI) to measure program impact.
• Proficiency in prompt engineering for generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) to create scalable content.
• Knowledge:
• Deep understanding of adult learning theories, inclusive pedagogy, and social justice frameworks.
• Familiarity with UK compliance standards related to workplace training.
• Understanding of ethical AI frameworks, algorithmic bias mitigation, and GDPR-compliant AI use in HR.
