YouthAdvantage UK is a volunteer-led, research-based organisation championing the rights and wellbeing of young people aged 11 to 25 across the UK. We influence national policy, deliver grassroots projects, and elevate youth voice in key debates; from education to mental health, climate action to justice reform.

We are seeking a passionate, committed Head of Governance & Legal to join our senior leadership team and help shape the strategic foundations that support our work.

About the role

As Head of Governance & Legal, you will lead a small team focused on risk, compliance, and governance excellence. You will ensure our work is rooted in sound legal and ethical frameworks and will support our growth with robust, transparent policies and guidance. You’ll also provide strategic support to our Board of Trustees and act as the senior point of contact for all legal matters.

This is an ideal opportunity for a governance, legal, or compliance professional looking to gain sector leadership experience while supporting a values-driven youth organisation.

• Lead and support the Governance & Legal Support Manager and team
• Design, update, and implement governance frameworks and organisational policies
• Maintain regulatory compliance across charity law, safeguarding, and data protection

• Oversee legal documentation and contracts
• Maintain and review the organisation’s risk register
• Build relationships with regulators and external legal advisors
• Embed a culture of accountability, transparency, and ethical practice

Reporting & Analytics: Track and report interview metrics, including candidate feedback, time-to-hire, and any recruitment challenges. Use data to continually improve the interview process.
Onboarding Support: Work closely with HR colleagues to ensure a smooth transition from interview to onboarding for successful candidates.
Compliance & Record Keeping: Ensure that all interview processes adhere to company policies, legal requirements, and best practices. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the applicant tracking system (ATS).

Key Skills & Qualifications

Experience: 1+ years of experience in recruitment, specifically in conducting interviews and managing the interview process.
Education: A degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is preferred. CIPD Level 3 or equivalent is a plus.
Interviewing Expertise: Strong background in conducting interviews, including using behavioural and situational interview techniques.
Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence candidates and hiring managers effectively.
Attention to Detail: Ability to assess candidates thoroughly and provide insightful feedback to ensure the right hiring decisions are made.

Sea Cadets Leith, based in Prince of Wales Docks, is currently looking for enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers to join our committee team. Leith is a long-established Sea Cadet Unit that has provided life-changing opportunities for many young people. We currently have 24 cadets who come from all over the area. Our cadets come from all walks of life, with some experiencing adverse childhood events, and limited access to social youth groups. Without support from volunteers like you, our charity cannot provide the adventure, community, and opportunities that young people experience through the Sea Cadets.

The primary purpose of the CFAV is to assist in the development of young people as
Individuals and active citizens by providing safe and rewarding training, direction and guidance.
The secondary purposes of a CFAV are:
- Maintain the Sea Cadet Corps (SCC) values
- Assist the Unit Training Officer (UTO) to plan a varied training programme.
- Safely and securely maintain the unit’s resources and equipment.

At Cede Foundation, we create safe, welcoming spaces where children can learn, play, build confidence and enjoy positive experiences during the school holidays.

We are looking for friendly, caring and reliable volunteers to support our holiday club activities. Volunteering with us is a great way to help children take part in fun activities, make friends and enjoy a supportive space during their school break.

As a volunteer, you will work alongside staff and other volunteers to help the day run smoothly and make sure every child feels welcome, included and encouraged.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys spending time with children, likes hands-on volunteering and wants to make a positive difference in their community.

What you will be doing

You will help make our holiday club a safe, positive and fun place for children.

Your tasks may include:

• Helping to prepare activity spaces before children arrive
• Welcoming children and families and helping with registration
• Assisting with games, creative activities, sports and group sessions
• Encouraging children to join in and feel confident taking part
• Supporting children during transitions between activities
• Helping with snacks, resources and general session coordination
• Assisting staff with attendance, feedback or simple record-keeping tasks where needed
• Helping to tidy activity spaces at the end of the day
• Promoting a friendly, inclusive and respectful atmosphere throughout the session

You will not be expected to lead sessions alone or take on staff responsibilities. A staff member or an activity leader will be there to support you throughout.

Who we are looking for

You do not need formal experience to apply, but you should be comfortable around children and willing to follow guidance.

Reasonable out-of-pocket travel expenses will be reimbursed in line with our volunteer expenses policy.

Safeguarding and Inclusion

The Role

As Talent Acquisition Business Partner, you will play a hands-on role in delivering end-to-end recruitment while partnering closely with hiring managers to meet organisational talent needs. Working with the Global Head of Talent, you will support workforce planning, attract high-quality candidates, and ensure a seamless, positive hiring experience across Project Yananai.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition Delivery

• Manage end-to-end recruitment processes from role briefing to onboarding.

• Draft and advertise roles across relevant platforms and networks.

• Screen, shortlist, and coordinate interviews with candidates.

• Ensure timely and professional communication throughout the hiring process.

Business Partnering

• Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and role requirements.

• Provide advice on recruitment strategies, timelines, and best practices.

• Support effective decision-making through structured feedback and insights.

Talent Attraction & Pipeline Building

• Proactively source candidates using job boards, social media, and networks.

• Build and maintain talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs.

• Promote Project Yananai’s employer brand to attract mission-aligned talent.

Candidate Experience & Onboarding

• Deliver a positive, inclusive, and engaging candidate experience.

• Support onboarding to ensure a smooth transition for new joiners.

Reporting & Compliance

• Maintain accurate recruitment data and track hiring activity.

• Provide regular updates and insights to the Global Head of Talent.

• Ensure compliance with organisational policies and data protection standards.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to enhance recruitment processes and efficiency.

“Solta o Jogo” is a vibrant cultural competition and festival celebrating Brazilian heritage through Capoeira, music, dance, acrobatics, and a Brazilian arts & crafts fair. Hosted at Kingston University Townhouse, the event invites the community to participate in free performances, workshops, and exhibitions promoting cross-cultural understanding.

As part of this initiative, we are seeking a Bid Writer to support Quilombo UK in securing vital funding and resources to further our mission. This remote volunteer role is ideal for someone who is passionate about community impact, writing, and making a meaningful difference in the Third Sector. Position Overview:
The Bid Writer Assistant plays a key role in researching, drafting, and editing compelling proposals and funding applications for various projects run by Quilombo UK. The role involves close collaboration with department leads, collecting relevant data, and ensuring submissions align with organisational goals and funder expectations. It offers the flexibility to work independently, with the support of experienced professionals and tailored training where required.

Key Responsibilities:

Proposal & Bid Development:

• Research, draft, and edit funding proposals tailored to specific grants, donors, and partners.

• Review and refine existing proposals to ensure clarity, compliance, and impact.

• Collaborate with internal teams to gather relevant content, project insights, and financial information for bids.

• Develop supporting documents and presentations to accompany applications.

Strategic Input & Collaboration:

We’re looking for volunteers who can give 4-8 hours (or more!) of their time in the shop each week, and we’re excited to welcome brand new volunteers to our stores!
