· following policies and guidelines and ensuring licences and permits are obtained for events

Time expectation

Our fundraising team leaders usually spend three to four hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.

As a charity we can help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations from our supporters. Raising funds is a key role in our charity, helping to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need.

As a fundraising volunteer, we will support you every step of the way to ensure your time at Cats Protection is a positive and rewarding one. Whatever time you can give really does make a big difference We have lots of exciting activities to choose from for example attending a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, handling administrative tasks, or contributing to the development of new fundraising ideas. Whatever your skill set, this role could be perfect for you! 

What can I expect to be doing? 

As a flexible role, you have the choice to be involved in the following: 

• Face-to-face fundraising – organising or helping with our fundraising events, attending supermarket collections or local markets. 

• Distributing collection tins – popping collection tins into local shops and pubs and collecting them when they’re full. 

• Bringing new ideas! - We always love to come up with new ideas to raise funds for cats and we’d love to help bring yours to life. 

• Engaging with your local branches and Fundraising Hub and feeling like an integral part of the team! 

What are the benefits to you and the cats? 

You will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge though Cats Protection’s learn online system, providing you with the skills to thrive as a fundraiser.  You’ll also have the chance to meet new people and be part of a dedicated team of volunteers.

How much time is expected of me? 

Our Fundraising Volunteer roles are very flexible, often certain times of the year are busier than others. You can choose your level of involvement to suit your schedule!

Support, guidance and keeping you safe 

At Cats Protection we believe our volunteers should be happy and confident in their roles. We provide support and guidance from our National Cat Centre and through our regional and local volunteer groups and teams. We offer engaging online and face-to-face training, expenses and have policies and processes to help volunteers get the most out of their time with us.

We’re seeking committed new trustees to help guide a small but ambitious charity supporting children and young people with cerebral palsy, ensuring our funds deliver meaningful, life-changing impact.

Our Board is made up of a small, committed group of trustees who bring a mix of professional expertise and personal connection to our cause. Together, we oversee a grant-making charity that has a long heritage and a clear ambition: to increase our income and ensure we can support more children and young people with cerebral palsy in meaningful, practical ways.

Like many small charities, our challenge is balancing strong governance with growth. We are financially stable and well run, but we want to think more strategically about our future: how we prioritise funding, how we grow awareness and income, and how we ensure every grant we make delivers real, lasting benefit for families. The new trustee will play an active role in shaping these conversations and helping the Board move confidently from steady state to sustainable growth.

The role is hands-on and collaborative. Trustees are expected to attend four board meetings a year, contribute thoughtfully to discussion and decision-making, and engage between meetings when specific issues arise. Depending on interest and experience, the new trustee may also be invited to take a lead role in an area of work or join a small working group, for example around fundraising development, investment oversight, or grant assessment.

This is an opportunity to influence how limited charitable funds are used where they matter most. Trustees are directly involved in decisions that enable children to access therapy, specialist equipment, and support that may not otherwise be available. For someone who wants to make a tangible difference, this is a role where your contribution can be clearly seen in the lives of the children and families we support.

What will you be doing?

You’ll create engaging, inspiring content for our Social Media accounts – just 1-2 posts a week – helping us grow our online presence, connect with our supporters, and communicate our values around sustainability, biodiversity, and inclusion. 

This is a flexible, part-time role requiring around 2 hours per week, or less if you can produce 4 monthly posts and leave them scheduled, ideal for someone looking to build their creative portfolio while supporting meaningful grassroots work.

What are we looking for?

Essential:

• Confident using Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn (personal or professional)
• Strong written communication and visual storytelling skills
• Creative flair and alignment with our charity’s mission and ethos
• Reliable and organised, able to contribute consistently each week
• Comfortable working independently and taking initiative
• Ability to work as part of a Team
• Able to use Canva to produce content

Desirable:

• Experience using Canva or similar design tools
• Familiarity with scheduling platforms like Meta Suite, Buffer, or Later

Candidates should have 3+ years of experience with: 
 

• Marketing Strategy

  Able to design clear, visually appealing posts using tools like Canva, with attention to accessibility and branding.

We take ethical marketing seriously. We prioritise respectful, consent-based storytelling, plain language, and accessibility (e.g., clear structure, alt text, readable layouts). We’d rather publish fewer, stronger pieces that we’re proud of than chase volume for the sake of a metric. You’ll have time to fact-check and shape narratives that are honest, strengths-based, and aligned with our values.

We have an exciting opportunity for a new Treasurer to join our board.

As Treasurer, you will work alongside our Finance Manager, the finance sub-committee and our trustee board to oversee the financial strategy and risk management processes of our organisation, to ensure its financial viability and legal compliance. To apply, you must have some financial qualifications (or relevant experience) and have some knowledge or experience of charity finances, fundraising, financial consequences and pension schemes.

Working with the Finance Manager, finance sub-committee (including the CEO) and trustee board, the Treasurer will oversee the financial strategy and risk management processes of the organisation, to ensure its financial viability and legal compliance.

We want our board to have a diverse range of experiences and backgrounds and are looking for strategic thinkers with a commitment to good governance and a willingness to work collaboratively and challenge constructively.

At Elect Her, women receive the support they need on their unique political journey. Every democratic path is different and consequently we have targeted interventions, at each stage, to provide the best tools to improve women’s chances and access to elected office and, once there, help them remain in office. Despite progress, women remain underrepresented at all levels of UK politics—only 40% nationally, 27% regionally, and 34% locally. This is not due to a lack of capable women, but because the political system is structurally biased. We’ve mapped the barriers to entry and are working on removing them and reshaping the political system so that all women can thrive once elected.

Volunteer Role: New Cadet Unit Launch Specialist (Mobilisation Team) - LONDON

Location: London (Hybrid options for planning)

Time Commitment: Flexible during the 8-12 week setup phase; attendance at the official Launch Night is essential.

About the Role:

Are you a natural organiser with a "get-it-done" attitude? We are looking for dynamic New Cadet Unit Launch Specialists to be the driving force behind the expansion of Ranger Cadets.

While our permanent unit leaders focus on the long-term journey of our cadets, you will be the architect who builds the foundation. You will lead the setup, recruitment, and official opening of new units, ensuring that when the first whistle blows, everything is in place for success.

Your Mission:

• The Foundation: Secure and risk-assess local venues for weekly parade nights.

• The Team: Assist in the initial recruitment and onboarding of the local Uniformed Adult Volunteer team.

• The Launch: Coordinate "Open Evenings" and the official Launch Night to welcome new cadets and their families.

• The Handover: Ensure a seamless transition by providing the permanent Unit Leadership Team with the tools, rotas, and training they need to take the reins post-launch.

Trustees with legal or financial expertise sought (voluntary roles) 

The Association of Breastfeeding Mothers (ABM) has supported breastfeeding families across the UK for over 40 years. We provide high-quality, evidence-based information and support to help parents make informed feeding choices and reach their own breastfeeding goals. 

ABM is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation and is currently in an important period of transition. We are moving from a predominantly volunteer-led organisation to a more sustainable staff-led model, while continuing to value and invest in our volunteers. As part of this development, ABM has recently appointed its first Chief Executive Officer, strengthening our operational capacity and enabling the Board to focus more clearly on governance, strategy and long-term resilience. 

We are now seeking two new trustees to join our Board, bringing strong legal expertise or strong financial / accounting experience to help guide ABM through this next phase. 

About ABM 

Our work includes: 

• Co-running the National Breastfeeding Helpline, in partnership with the Breastfeeding Network, providing direct support to parents 24 hours a day, 365 days a year 

• Producing accessible, evidence-based resources for parents and professionals 

• Delivering education and training for volunteers and professionals involved in infant feeding support 

• Advocating nationally for breastfeeding through participation in strategic and policy-focused groups 

The trustee roles 

We are particularly keen to hear from people who can bring legal or financial expertise to the Board. The examples below are intended to give a sense of the types of experience that may be helpful in these roles, however, they are not a list of essential criteria, and we welcome applications from people whose experience may sit outwith these specific examples. 

Legal expertise 

• Charity law, employment law, governance, compliance, contracts or regulatory frameworks 

• Confidence in advising the Board on governance responsibilities, risk and sound decision-making 

Financial / accounting expertise 

• Financial management, accounting, audit, budgeting or financial oversight 

• Ability to support trustees in understanding financial information and long-term sustainability 

Previous trustee experience is welcome but not essential. What matters most is your willingness to contribute your skills thoughtfully, ask good questions, and support ABM’s mission and values. 

What being a trustee involves 

Trustees are expected to play an active and engaged role in ABM’s governance and strategic direction. This includes: 

• Attending Board meetings every second month (six meetings per year), currently held remotely in the evening and lasting up to two hours 

• Reading papers in advance and contributing thoughtfully to discussion and decision-making 

• Engaging with Board communications between meetings, including email and Microsoft Teams discussions, to support timely and informed governance 

• Taking part in occasional additional meetings or events during the year, including an annual planning and review session 

We recognise that trustees are volunteers and aim to be realistic and respectful of people’s time. What matters most is consistent engagement, good judgement, and a collaborative approach.

You do not need personal breastfeeding experience to be a trustee. However, it is essential that you support ABM’s charitable purpose and recognise the importance of breastfeeding to the health and wellbeing of mothers and babies.

As described in the Lancet Series 2023 “we use the terms women and breastfeeding throughout this [document] because most people who breastfeed identify as women; we recognise that not all people who breastfeed or chestfeed identify as women” (Baker et al, 2023). 

The best quality support is culturally sensitive and tailored to meet each 

individual’s needs (Gavine et al, 2022).

Trustee Duties

• Support and provide advice on Safer Places’ purpose, vision, goals and activities
• Approve operational strategies and policies and monitor and evaluate their implementation
• Oversee Safer Places’ financial plans and budgets and monitor and evaluate progress
• Ensure the effective and efficient administration of the organisation
• Ensure that key risks are being identified, monitored and controlled effectively Review and approve Safer Places’ financial statements
• Keep abreast of changes in the operating environment
• Contribute to regular reviews of Safer Places’ own governance.
• Attend Board meetings, adequately prepared to contribute to discussions
• Use independent judgment, acting legally and in good faith to promote and protect Safer Places’ interests, to the exclusion of personal and/or any third-party interests
• Contribute to the broader promotion of Safer Places’ objects, aims and reputation by applying your skills, expertise, knowledge and contacts
