At DAR we care passionately that everyone who seeks sanctuary in the UK deserves to be welcomed, treated with dignity and supported to rebuild their lives in the UK.  Our 65 volunteers provide that support through teaching English, helping them get to know Darlington, chatting, listening, fundraising and assisting with the running of our charity.  Our Board of Trustees are a dedicated group of people of diverse backgrounds who are now seeking a Leader to take DAR to the next step in its development.

This is a strategic leadership role, with responsibility for leading the Trustee Board in its role of supporting our Executive Team, ensuring effective governance and compliance.  We're looking for an engaging, inclusive leader with the energy and enthusiasm to encourage, inspire and enthuse our team.

Revive Battery B.V. is a sustainability-driven cleantech startup based in the Netherlands, working at the intersection of energy, circular economy, and climate action. We specialize in battery regeneration and lifecycle innovation—extending battery life, reducing waste, and lowering environmental impact through advanced regeneration technologies and digital traceability solutions.

Volunteership Summary

As a Social Media Manager, you will support the planning, creation, and management of Revive Battery’s social media presence. Working closely with the marketing, business development, and leadership teams, you will help develop and implement social media strategies that increase awareness, engagement, and visibility around battery regeneration, sustainability, and circular energy systems.

This volunteership offers hands-on experience in social media strategy, content planning, digital storytelling, and online community engagement within a fast-paced sustainability startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule social media content across platforms such as LinkedIn and other relevant channels
• Create engaging posts, captions, and content formats that communicate Revive Battery’s mission, technology, and impact
• Support the development and management of a structured social media content calendar
• Monitor social media engagement and basic performance metrics to track audience growth and interaction
• Research trends, industry developments, and sustainability topics to support social media content creation
• Repurpose long-form content (articles, reports, newsletters) into concise and engaging social media posts
• Engage with comments, messages, and relevant discussions to strengthen community interaction and brand presence
• Collaborate with designers and team members to ensure visual content aligns with messaging and branding
• Contribute ideas during marketing brainstorm sessions and weekly virtual meetings

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Business, Environmental Studies, or a related field
• Strong interest in social media, digital communication, and online audience engagement
• Good writing and communication skills in English
• Ability to translate complex sustainability or technical topics into clear and engaging social media content
• Interest in sustainability, renewable energy, or the circular economy
• Comfortable using digital and AI-supported tools (e.g. ChatGPT) for ideation while maintaining originality and brand voice
• Organized, proactive, and reliable in a remote working environment
• Familiarity with Google Workspace; experience with Canva or social media scheduling tools is an advantage

CHARITY SHOP VOLUNTEER – CUSTOMER SERVICE - LEWES

PURPOSE

To assist the Shop Manger in the running of an Age UK East Sussex Charity Shop with a focus on serving customers, driving sales and store presentation.

We are currently looking for volunteers on weekdays and weekends.

ROLE OF THE VOLUNTEER

· Greet and thank customers in a polite and friendly manner

· Assist customers in choosing items and actively promote sales

· Replenish and display stock in the shop throughout the day

· Receive donations and complete Gift Aid paperwork

· Handle cash and operate the till following correct procedure

· Take credit card payments using the Streamline system

· Assist in keeping the shop clean and tidy following the cleaning rota

· Undertake other tasks as required by the Shop Manager

· Support the Mission and Vision of Age UK East Sussex by helping us to ensure that our county is a place where people in later life flourish

· Be available to volunteer for at least one regular shift each week. This could be a morning, afternoon or whole day. Depending on the store we open Monday – Sunday.

· Adhere to Age UK East Sussex confidentiality and equal opportunities policies maintaining discretion and confidentiality at all times

· Be reliable and conscientious

· Attend all training and information days, group meetings and supervision

· Exercise patience and understanding when dealing with customers

About The Big House

The Big House Multibank exists to improve lives and build a more sustainable Scotland by reducing waste, maximising resources, and supporting families facing hardship. We do this by redistributing surplus goods from corporate partners to frontline organisations, schools, social workers, health visitors and community groups who support families in crisis.

Based in Fife, with satellite hubs in Dundee, Perth and Edinburgh, and expanding across Scotland, we combine environmental action, social justice and community partnership to tackle poverty, reduce pollution and strengthen local support systems.

Skills & Experience We Are Seeking 

We are seeking individuals with senior-level expertise in one or more of the following areas: 

• Safeguarding & Social Care - senior experience in social work, education, health, early years or family support services, with strong safeguarding expertise. 
• Supply Chain, Logistics & Warehousing - experience in logistics, operations, warehousing, fulfilment, or supply chain transformation. 
• Digital Transformation & Data Governance - experience delivering digital systems, data governance, cyber security or operational technology. 
• Circular Economy & Environmental Leadership - background in sustainability, reuse, recycling, environmental strategy or circular economy innovation. 
• Corporate Retail, FMCG & Surplus Partnerships - senior experience within retail, manufacturing or FMCG, particularly in surplus, ESG or supply chain partnerships. 
• Social Enterprise & Scale-Up Leadership - experience growing mission-led organisations, trading models or hybrid charities.

• We are recruiting Trustees on a rolling basis to allow flexibility and to ensure we appoint the right people at the right time as the organisation continues to grow. 
• Applications will be reviewed as they are received, with interviews scheduled throughout the year. 
• Appointments will be made on a rolling basis, with new Trustees formally ratified at the next appropriate Board meeting or Annual General Meeting (AGM), in line with our constitution. 
• While we anticipate a number of appointments during 2026, we encourage early applications and expressions of interest at any point.

Sherborne Museum is looking for a friendly, organised volunteer to join us as Front of House Team Co-Ordinator. This key role supports our valued team of volunteer stewards and helps ensure a smooth and welcoming experience for our visitors. The main responsibility is to manage the monthly stewarding rota — keeping it up to date and arranging cover when needed. You’ll also support the curator with the recruitment, induction and training of new volunteers, and act as a point of contact for existing stewards, helping to flag any issues or concerns.

Join Skills Development Training as a Volunteer Assistant Coach for Free Basketball Sessions!

We're seeking a reliable Volunteer Assistant Coach for every Saturday, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM at 1 Selby Road, White Hart Lane, London - Haringey N17 8JL. Support our free basketball training for boys and girls aged 11-18, helping them develop skills, make friends, and stay active in a fun, supportive environment!

What you'll do:

• Assist with drills, skill-building activities, and small-sided games during the full 2-hour sessions every Saturday.

• Support a positive vibe for all abilities – no coaching experience needed, just energy and passion for basketball!

• Help manage equipment and ensure smooth delivery alongside the lead coach.
