Fundraising volunteer roles

We’re looking for a friendly, organised person to become our Walk Leader Coordinator — someone who enjoys supporting others, keeping things running smoothly, and helping volunteers feel valued and confident in their role.

You’ll be the go-to person for our walk leaders.

What you’ll do

• Be a point of contact for walk leaders across our groups
• Help schedule and onboard new walk leaders
• Share updates, check in regularly, and make sure each group feels supported
• Keep basic records of who’s leading which walk and when
• Flag anything that needs attention to the Project Lead
• Bring ideas on how to strengthen volunteer engagement and community

Volunteering for Sense

Our amazing team of volunteers help us run over 100 shops across England and Wales.  Every donated item that you sort, prepare and sell helps to raise vital funds to support us in our mission to make sure no one, no matter how complex their disabilities, is isolated, left out, or unable to fulfil their potential. Our shops are at the heart of local communities – sharing the work of Sense, and helping to secure support for our life changing work.

What your role will involve

There are a variety of tasks that you can get involved with in the shop, including:

• Welcoming and assisting customers, providing great customer service and a fantastic shopping experience
• Receiving donated goods from members of the public
• Sorting, steaming, tagging and preparing donated goods for sale
• Creating eye catching window and in-shop displays
• Keeping the shop floor well stocked, tidy, clean and organised
• Processing sales and serving on the till
• Promoting Gift Aid and other Sense fundraising initiatives
• Acting as an ambassador for Sense; promoting the shop and Sense in your local community
• Supporting with the recruitment and training of new volunteers
• Following new health and safety measures to ensure the safety of everyone

We help young menstruators improve mental health and menstrual literacy through embodied game-based app experiences.​

We’re Howami, a bold, empathetic UK-based startup on a mission to transform how young people and their carers navigate menstrual and emotional health. We are soon to launch Million Moons, a global storytelling and fundraising initiative that will shift how the world talks about and understands menstrual health and youth emotional and mental wellbeing.

The role

We are looking for an in-house data-driven yet deeply creative Digital Marketing Specialist to collaborate with our PR and Marketing Partners and drive our paid social strategy and content ecosystem. You will build the tracking that tells us what’s working, produce authentic user-generated content that earns attention honestly, and make sure every message, from a three-second hook to a landing-page headline, carries the Million Moons voice with care. You will be the bridge between the numbers and the narrative.

What you’ll do in collaboration with our PR and Marketing Partners:

Technical tracking & analytics

1. Implement and configure the Meta Pixel and Conversions API via Google Tag Manager for clean, reliable tracking and attribution.
2. Set up, test, and troubleshoot custom conversion events.
3. Audit tracking health regularly, resolve data discrepancies, and sharpen ad targeting.

UGC content creation & creative direction

1. Ideate, script, and produce compelling user-generated content (UGC) for Meta (Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok) campaigns and organic social.
2. Manage the content process end to end: casting creators and storytellers, directing shoots, and editing final assets.
3. Watch for creative fatigue and iterate on top-performing UGC formats (testimonials, behind-the-scenes, explainers) to grow reach and engagement, always keeping dignity and consent at the centre.

Key messaging & strategy

1. Lead the development of localized, high-performing messaging frameworks for the European and, eventually, the Global market.
2. Hold the line on brand voice and tone across every touchpoint, from ad copy to landing pages.
3. Translate broad goals into clear, persuasive copy tailored to different audience personas — without ever losing the warmth that makes people stay.

What you’ll bring

This list describes the shape of the role, not a checklist you must tick perfectly. If you’re early in your career but learn fast and care deeply, we want to hear from you.

1. Hands-on curiosity with the tools. Around 1–2 years of experience or equivalent practice through internships, freelance work, personal projects, or study with Google Tag Manager, Meta Ads Manager, and TikTok. If you’ve been teaching yourself, that counts.
2. A creative eye. Some examples of UGC or content you’ve created or directed. A polished agency portfolio is welcome, but so is a TikTok you grew from scratch or a campaign you ran for a cause or side project. We care about the thinking behind it.
3. A way with words. A feel for copywriting and an instinct for what an audience actually needs to hear. You need a good ear and the willingness to revise.
4. An analytical mindset. Comfort with (or genuine eagerness to learn) Google Analytics, and a habit of letting data guide the next decision.
5. Heart. A genuine connection to our mission. You don’t have to share every story, but you do have to care about the people telling them. This matters to us as much as any technical skill.

Our House Experience Volunteers add the sparkle to any visit – giving everyone a warm welcome, bringing stories from Ickworth to life and helping people get the best out of their day. 

 This role will suit you if you are:

• Sensitive to visitor and volunteer needs – working as an effective team member.
• Willing to develop your knowledge of Ickworth, its history and vast collections.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Responding to the diverse needs of visitors, including people with additional access needs.
• Sharing inspirational stories, curious facts and practical information or simply the space for visitors to wander at their own pace.
• Helping visitors to discover more, answering questions and making suggestions so they can enjoy their day, their way.
• Being an ambassador for the whole property and the National Trust. Helping visitors understand the full scope of the offer at Ickworth beyond the house.
• Learning more about Ickworth, so you can share your knowledge and stories of the family and their collections with visitors.
• Responding to the changing needs of Ickworth – supporting ongoing interpretation strategies in the House.
• Supporting with health and safety and evacuation procedures if required.
• Being part of a team that may need to adapt and change in response to local needs, National Trust priorities or changes to government guidelines
