• Face-to-face fundraising – organising or helping with our fundraising events, attending supermarket collections or local markets. 

• Distributing collection tins – popping collection tins into local shops and pubs and collecting them when they’re full. 

• Bringing new ideas! - We always love to come up with new ideas to raise funds for cats and we’d love to help bring yours to life. 

• Engaging with your local branches and Fundraising Hub and feeling like an integral part of the team!

Fundraising Manager (Team Leader)

Time commitment: 4 hours per week (flexible)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced, friendly, and highly organised Volunteer Fundraising Manager to lead our fundraising function and help us deliver a clear, consistent, and timely pipeline of income opportunities.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You will work closely with the Director to shape and manage our fundraising strategy, prioritise opportunities, and coordinate a small team of fundraising volunteers.

Please note: This role is not responsible for writing full applications. Instead, you will focus on strategy, coordination, quality assurance, and momentum. You will support the team by reviewing drafts, giving clear feedback, and ensuring applications are aligned with our charity’s mission and submitted on time.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and maintain an effective fundraising strategy in collaboration with the Director
• Guide and support a team of around five fundraising volunteers, setting priorities and keeping everyone on track
• Manage the fundraising pipeline (opportunities, deadlines, progress tracking, and follow-ups)
• Provide timely responses to team questions and unblock issues quickly
• Review and improve fundraising drafts (structure, clarity, alignment, tone, completeness, and fit with funder criteria)
• Ensure applications and supporting documents are consistent, accurate, and submitted within deadlines
• Coordinate light-touch check-ins, task allocation, and updates (weekly or fortnightly, as agreed)
• Help improve systems and templates so the team can work efficiently (for example trackers, folder structure, and standard wording)

Who we’re looking for

Essential

• Proven experience in fundraising (charity, community interest, education, health, environment, or similar)
• Strong understanding of what makes a successful grant or fundraising case, and how to align it to funder criteria
• Confident leading and supporting a small team, with a collaborative and encouraging style
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to give clear, constructive feedback
• Highly organised, reliable, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines
• Able to commit around 4 hours per week on an ongoing basis

Desirable

• Experience managing a fundraising pipeline or CRM, or maintaining trackers and workflows
• Experience developing fundraising strategy and prioritisation
• Familiarity with UK trusts and foundations, corporate giving, or community fundraising

Saving Strays is looking for a dynamic fundraising co-ordinator with experience in grass roots and event fundraising to help take our team of dedicated fundraising volunteers to the next level! The role will include initiating and implementing regional team leaders to run local fundraising events and recruit local people to support offline and online fundraising activities. You will liaise with our Head of Fundraising and help to inspire and grow the current team. Think Tank experience, great communication skills and a love of dogs is a must. Although the role is remote there will be opportunites at the charity's main fundraising concerts and events to work alongside the team members in person. We are a fun loving dedicated group of like minded people and we would love to welcome you to the team.

Team up with fellow volunteers in our North Northumberland and Scottish Borders Fundraising Group to help plan and deliver exciting local events that help raise vital funds for amazing assistance dogs. Proposal Development:

Budget Oversight:

• Work closely with the finance team to monitor fundraising budgets, expenditure, and financial projections.

Donor Relations:

• Support with Donor Communications in activities related to donor relationship management and stewardship.

• Strong understanding of fundraising principles and techniques, including donor cultivation

Community Engagement:

• Develop and implement a dynamic fundraising plan that includes a variety of strategies tailored to Roots Academy’s target audiences, including university MSAs, mosques, and Islamic organisations.

• Identify and build partnerships with key community organisations, MSAs, and Islamic centres to create collaborative fundraising opportunities.

• Stay adaptable to emerging opportunities for funding, leveraging both traditional and innovative approaches to engage and attract potential donors.

Relationship Building:

• Actively engage with MSAs, Islamic centres, and community organisations to establish Roots Academy as a cause worth supporting and to cultivate long-term donor relationships.

• Collaborate with MSAs and community partners to organise local fundraising events, campaigns, and other initiatives that resonate with the community.

• Serve as a liaison between Roots Academy and these partner organisations to foster a spirit of collaboration and mutual support.

• Work closely with MSAs and community organisations to retain donors by creating meaningful engagement opportunities and maintaining a sense of involvement with Roots Academy’s mission.

Campaign Management:

• Lead and coordinate diverse fundraising campaigns, including online initiatives, MSA-driven campaigns, and in-person events like benefit dinners and community gatherings.

• Work with Roots Academy’s marketing team to create campaign materials and digital content, ensuring that each initiative is tailored to engage and inspire potential donors.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Fundraising Experience: Proven experience in developing and executing successful fundraising strategies, particularly for nonprofit organisations, educational initiatives, or Islamic institutions.

The Online Fundraising and Campaign Manager ensures that all digital campaigns—from social media drives to crowdfunding initiatives—are strategically designed, executed, and optimised for impact. You will lead online engagement, campaign planning, and donor acquisition strategies, connecting supporters to the CIC’s mission and converting attention into meaningful action. This is not a passive posting role—it is strategic, high-energy, and central to scaling the CIC’s digital impact.

This role exists to:

• Plan, launch, and manage online fundraising campaigns across multiple digital platforms
• Coordinate with Content and Donor Communication Specialists to ensure cohesive messaging
• Analyse campaign performance, adjusting strategies in real time for maximum engagement
• Support the Fundraising Director with digital strategy, reporting, and optimisation
• Ensure campaigns comply with safeguarding, ethical, and CIC standards
• Develop creative fundraising initiatives that engage online communities
• Track donor journeys from awareness to contribution, improving retention and growth

You are the digital architect of campaigns that mobilise supporters and funds.

Experience Qualification and Requirements

• Experience using online fundraising platforms such as JustGiving, GoFundMe, Stripe, Patreon, or similar tools
• Experience in digital campaign planning, execution, and optimisation
• Strong understanding of social media marketing, including platform-specific strategies and analytics
• Experience with email marketing tools and CRM systems for supporter engagement and fundraising
• Ability to monitor, analyse, and interpret performance data to inform decisions
• Experience producing clear reports and insights for non-technical audiences and leadership
• Strong written communication skills, with an ability to craft compelling calls to action
• Creative mindset with the ability to generate and test innovative campaign ideas
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines
• Understanding of ethical fundraising, safeguarding, and data protection principles

Main Responsibilities/ Key Duties

• Design and deliver online fundraising campaigns: Plan, implement, and manage end-to-end digital fundraising initiatives across social media, crowdfunding platforms, email marketing, and web-based channels. Ensure campaigns are aligned with organisational goals, audiences, and key fundraising moments.
• Develop innovative engagement strategies: Create and test creative campaign ideas, challenges, peer-to-peer fundraising initiatives, and digital engagement activities that motivate supporters to donate, share, and advocate. Continuously explore new trends and tools in online fundraising.
• Coordinate creative assets: Work collaboratively with Content, Communications, and Donor Engagement teams to develop compelling copy, visuals, videos, and calls to action. Ensure consistent messaging, tone, and branding across all digital channels.
• Campaign optimisation and performance monitoring: Track and analyse campaign metrics such as reach, engagement, conversion rates, donation values, and supporter growth. Use insights to adjust strategies in real time and improve campaign effectiveness.
• Data-driven decision making: Interpret analytics and audience behaviour to refine targeting, messaging, timing, and platform use. Support evidence-based recommendations for future fundraising activity.
• Compliance and ethical standards: Ensure all online fundraising activities comply with relevant regulations, platform terms, safeguarding policies, data protection requirements, and ethical fundraising standards. Promote transparency and donor trust at all stages.
• Reporting and accountability: Prepare clear and timely reports on campaign performance, outcomes, and learning for leadership and stakeholders. Highlight successes, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
• Volunteer collaboration: Engage and coordinate volunteer teams and digital ambassadors to amplify campaigns, encourage peer sharing, and extend reach within communities and networks. Provide guidance and motivation to support consistent messaging.
