Job description

Why we want you

We are looking for people 18+ who have some spare time and would like to give back time to the local community, by supporting Horticultural/gardening activities at our centre.

The majority of the gardening will be at our allotments which is off site and we also have a small outside space at our centre.

This is a weather dependent role and activities may need to be adapted to indoor sessions if the weather is very wet or very hot

We would like you to have some experience in Horticulture/gardening to help us develop and grown our garden.

What you will be doing

  • Help organise horticulture sessions with assistance from our support workers to provide guidance and advice for people that attend the centres and live in our residential houses.
  • Provide advice for staff and students on aspects of Horticulture including what equipment to use to be most effective.
  • Helping with the planning of the activities
  • Be proactive and encouraging with people at the session to encourage them to develop new skills
  • You will need to provide 2 references and a DBS for this role
