We need people who have a passion for helping others, care about their communities and want to make a difference, supporting them to become safe and more resilient. Community Volunteers can choose from a wide selection of activities – including fundraising, talks and demonstrations, supporting at events, volunteer welfare, social media and administration support.
Through supporting the growth of community partnerships, you will bring people along to our cause, growing our membership and fundraising base and spreading the message that First Aid Saves Lives.
Give as much (or little) time as you can afford. With this new role, you simply volunteer when it works for you. That means you can give as much time as you like or as little as 24 hours across a whole year, whenever it suits you. It’s perfect for busy lives, changing schedules, or for anyone seeking a low-commitment involvement.
Expected time commitment: At least 24 hours per year Meeting these hours will form part of the annual revalidation for your role. The requirement can be adjusted in unforeseen or unavoidable circumstances, for example if you are unexpectedly unwell. North and West Bristol network meet every Monday evening at 7.45pm at Southmead Fire Station.

This volunteer opportunity is perfect for anyone who enjoys being part of local community events and wants to make a meaningful difference for cats across the South West. As a fundraising events helper, you will support a range of enjoyable activities such as craft fairs, coffee mornings, quiz nights, county shows and supermarket collections. Your support at these events helps raise the vital funds needed to care for cats and kittens in need.
Every event you take part in truly makes a difference. Even small amounts go a long way. Just £5 can feed a cat in our care for 25 days, helping us provide the food, warmth and comfort they rely on.
You do not need previous experience. All you need is a friendly attitude, a willingness to get involved and an interest in helping cats. Whether you prefer setting up stalls, chatting to members of the public or supporting activities throughout the day, there is a place for you on the team. Any time you can give will help us continue our work and support cats who need it most.
This role is very flexible. You can choose to volunteer at a single event for a couple of hours or join multiple events throughout the year. We will keep you updated with upcoming opportunities so you can choose what suits you best.
Wherever you are based in the South West, you will have full support from your fellow volunteers and the Fundraising Hub team. They are always available to offer guidance, resources and encouragement.

The Role of Treasurer
The Treasurer is a key member of the Board of Trustees, providing oversight of the charity’s financial health and helping ensure strong financial governance.
Working closely with the Chair, CEO and Board, the Treasurer will support strategic decision-making by ensuring that trustees have clear and accurate financial information and that the charity operates with robust financial controls.
The Treasurer plays an important role in helping the Board balance ambition and growth with responsible financial stewardship.
Key Responsibilities
The Treasurer will:
· Oversee the presentation of budgets, management accounts and annual financial statements to the Board.
· Ensure that appropriate financial systems, controls and procedures are in place.
· Monitor the financial health and sustainability of the organisation.
· Support the development and review of financial policies, including reserves and risk management.
· Provide financial insight to support strategic planning and growth.
· Work with the Chair, CEO, leadership team and with the Goals 4 Girls accountant to ensure effective financial planning and reporting.
· Ensure compliance with Charity Commission, SORP reporting and good governance principles
· Oversee preparation of the charity’s annual accounts and liaise with external accountants or auditors.
· Ensure financial risks are identified and appropriately managed.
· Help build financial understanding across the Board by presenting financial information clearly and accessibly.
Skills and Experience
We are seeking a trustee with strong financial expertise who is motivated by the opportunity to support a growing charity making a positive impact in young people’s lives. Please note that only London-based candidates will be considered and the position requires an enhanced DBS check and two professional references.
The ideal candidate will bring:
Essential
·A professional background in finance with at least 5 years post-qualification in accounting, investment or financial management
· Experience of financial oversight, governance or strategic financial planning
· Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
· The ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial audiences
Desirable
· Experience of charity finance or working with non-profit organisations
· Experience supporting organisational growth or scaling programmes
- An understanding of the Charity Commission requirements relating to finance and governance
· Interest in sport, youth development or gender equality
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who shares our commitment to creating opportunities for girls and young women.
Time Commitment
The Treasurer role is voluntary, with reasonable expenses reimbursed.
Expected commitment:
· Attendance at monthly Board meetings
· Occasional committee or working group participation where relevant
· Preparation and review of financial information between meetings
The average commitment is approximately 5 –7 hours per month including a one hour monthly Board meeting.
Trustees are appointed for an initial three-year term, with the option of renewal.

Many of the mums we support cannot collect essential items themselves due to financial hardship, mobility issues, mental health challenges, or caring responsibilities. Volunteer Delivery Drivers help ensure essential donated items reach mums supported by MumsAid safely, respectfully, and with dignity. This role involves collecting goods from Mammakind Charity and delivering them directly to families, many of whom are experiencing hardship, isolation, or vulnerability. What will you be doing?
Liaise with MumsAid team about delivery schedules
Collect and safely transport donated items from Mammakind Charity
Deliver items sensitively to families
Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
Follow safeguarding guidance at all times
Report safeguarding or welfare concerns immediately to the MumsAid team
Promote and support equality, diversity and inclusion
Attend induction and role-specific training and take part in feedback sessions

Requirements
Full, valid UK driving licence
Access to a suitable vehicle for deliveries
Valid vehicle insurance, MOT, and road tax
Volunteers must confirm with their insurer that their vehicle policy covers charity volunteering
Willingness to provide relevant documentation upon request
Physically able to lift and carry items, following manual handling guidance
DBS check (or willingness to apply, supported by MumsAid)
Agreement to follow all MumsAid policies and procedures
MumsAid cannot accept responsibility for vehicle insurance, fines, or driving-related offences
Hours: Flexible hours, with a minimum commitment of 3 hours per week, usually on a Thursday, in line with client and charity needs
