We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to take on the role of Community First Aid Network Leader who can work and lead volunteering groups and leaders in their own way, supported by our central teams 

The Network Lead role focuses on the South East London Network, Locations are primarily centred around Lewisham and the surrounding areas. 

At St John Ambulance, we are looking to embed ourselves within our communities, delivering support which is tailored to the needs of those communities whilst providing a positive experience for our Volunteers. 

We need leaders who are passionate about making a difference in their communities, who care about helping and developing others, who will lead and inspire a volunteer movement across a geographical area to deliver Community First Aid, Community Education and Community Fundraising as well as develop our offering for young people. 

Through leading a team of Volunteer leaders, you will drive excellence in delivery, develop an inclusive and diverse volunteering experience for new and current volunteers, and help navigate through change to build a bigger and better St John Ambulance. 

As Network Lead, you’ll get a huge sense of satisfaction and pride through supporting a team and our volunteers to deliver our essential services. It’s great for you, great for your community and great for our nation. We will make sure you will have access to a proper induction to volunteering with SJA and the training you need for the role you take on. We will also provide you with a supportive environment while you are volunteering with us. Information about our volunteer roles are included in the role descriptions. What you can expect from SJA, and what we expect from those who volunteer with us, is included in the volunteer charter. Volunteers would be expected to attend training for the role both online and in person, to attend regularly network weekly meetings to enable them to keep their skills up to date. 

This role calls for strong leadership abilities and proven experience in managing people. Successful candidates will have access to additional leadership development opportunities, including self-directed learning and structured training courses. 

The position involves attending County meetings every 6 weeks and occasional Regional meetings, both online via Teams and in person. If you are successful, you will need to undertake relevant training for the role, details of which will be discussed after you have been appointed.

Role Purpose

We are seeking a creative and motivated Social Media Volunteer to support Olive Branch Aid in raising awareness of our foodbank and wellbeing services within the Lambeth community. This role is ideal for a student or early-career individual studying Digital Marketing, Communications, or a related field who would like to gain practical, real-world experience in the charity sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, create, and schedule engaging social media content across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and X (Twitter).

• Promote foodbank sessions, wellbeing activities, community events, and fundraising campaigns.

• Monitor engagement, respond to comments/messages appropriately, and help build an online community.

We are currently looking for Welcome and Reception Volunteers to join our supportive team in Brent. Shifts are available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays or Fridays (10am - 4pm) with a minimum commitment of one day a week. Same time each week for a minimum of six months. 

Shortlisting will take place W/C 30th March and interviews will take place Tuesday 14th April. 

How will I be ending homelessness?

As a Welcome and Reception Volunteer you will be the first point of contact for many people who need to access our services. This contact may set the tone for our relationship with that individual and whether they choose to get the help we can offer, so the warm, non-judgemental, and informative welcome you create could set them on the journey to ending their homelessness.

What will I be doing?

Tasks you will support the team with include:

• Welcome
  • Welcoming visitors to the Skylight and ensuring they sign in and out
  • Signposting to reception and information areas
  • Directing members to activities within the Skylight and encouraging engagement
  • Chat to members while they are waiting and offer and provide refreshments
  • Ensuring information stands are well stocked and up to date
  • Supporting with filling in of basic forms
  • Carrying out building tours where required and/or showing members to their classes/appointments
• Reception
  • Responding to and making telephone calls
  • Checking members in and out on our MAPS (members records) database
  • Notifying Lead Workers that members have arrived for their appointments

Cheerer Volunteering at London Landmarks Half Marathon 2026

The main thing we need you to do is cheer! You will be a vital part of race day, supporting 450 Shelter runners from the side lines. You’ll need to help create a high energy, friendly atmosphere, motivating everyone on race day to do their best.

Skills Development Training is a 10+ year established Southwark charity running a new Rotherhithe Saturday School for children aged 7-11 (Years 3–6). We are looking for a committed Volunteer Assistant Tutor to support our small-group Maths & English sessions.

Role Overview

• Support the lead tutor every Saturday, 10am–12pm (term time).

• Help deliver 1 hour Maths + 1 hour English with a short break.

• Work with a small group of up to 10 pupils, focusing on: number fluency, reading comprehension and writing skills.

• Help with setting up the classroom, supporting individual pupils, and maintaining a positive learning environment.

Our Summer Camp
Wed 17th - Sun 21st June and/or Wed 1st - Sun 5th July

We are currently looking for energetic and enthusiastic volunteers to join us on our action-packed residential Summer Camp. On the camp you will be supporting one of our members with a disability to have a holiday they won’t forget.

What you'll do

On the camp you and a fellow co-volunteers will support one of our members with a learning disability or autism for the 5 days. You’ll support and encourage them to take part in lots of exciting activities such as campfires, treasure trails, swimming, games nights, day trips to the seaside and much more. You’ll also help our members with their day-to-day routines and preparing our meals.

Not only is it five days full of fun and games for you and our members, but you will also play a vital part in supporting them to develop their social skills in a day-to-day environment and of course, to enjoy a fantastic holiday!

What you need
You do not need experience. Full disability awareness training will be provided before you begin volunteering with us.
The only requirements we ask of you are enthusiasm, energy and to be open-minded.
Minimum age for volunteers is 18.

How much time?
The Camp runs for five days, four nights. The dates are Wed 17th - Sun 21st June and/or Wed 1st - Sun 5th July.

The camp starts and finishes in Tottenham, North London.

We can offer you
We can reimburse your travel expenses for your training days. All meals, transportation and accommodation are provided during the camp.
We'll also provide excellent training before the camp, and lots of helpful support throughout.
