We are looking for a qualified accountant to join our Board of Directors as a Non-Executive Director (NED), and as Chair of our Finance Committee. You could bring your expertise in strategic insight, financial strategy and performance and be instrumental in our growth, development and maximising our contribution to Turn2us. All our NEDs will play a pivotal role in guiding the company’s strategic direction, ensuring robust governance, and upholding the values and standards that are integral to our operations.

Required Skills and Experience

New World Book Day Trustees
WBD is governed by its board of trustees, 3 of which are appointed by the Publishers' Association and 3 by the Booksellers' Association, each in their capacity as a founding member. The remaining trustees are appointed by the board. New trustees are recruited to infill the gaps identified from regular skills audits. We are now seeking three new trustees, one of whom will be the new Chair of the trustee board, to fill an existing and two upcoming vacancies.
The three new trustees sought are expected to fulfil the following specifications:

· Publishers' Association Appointed Trustee: This trustee will be an individual from within the publishing industry. We are particularly looking for someone with senior level strategic HR experience, in particular remuneration and reward, performance management and employee health, safety and wellbeing.
· Education/literacy trustee: This person will have senior level strategic education and/or literacy experience, ideally derived from lived experience as an educator, academic or policy expert.
All trustees are expected to bring a commitment to our mission to promote reading for pleasure, offering every child and young person the opportunity to have a book of their own. The Social Media Analysis & Insights Officer ensures that every post, video clip, podcast snippet, or visual asset has measurable impact. You are the intelligence engine, translating raw platform data into actionable strategies for growth, engagement, and community trust.
This role is not about vanity metrics. It is about understanding what works, what resonates, and what drives meaningful action.
Purpose of the Role
The purpose of this role is to:
- Measure, track, and interpret performance across all CIC platforms
- Identify content that drives donor growth, volunteer mobilisation, VFAP recruitment, and community engagement

Experience Qualification and Requirements
Essential experience
- Experience in social media analytics across one or more platforms (TikTok, Instagram, X, YouTube, LinkedIn).
- Experience building dashboards and visual reporting (e.g., Looker Studio/Google Data Studio, Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent).
- Experience using Excel or Google Sheets for analysis, including KPI tracking, trend analysis, and data cleaning.
- Experience measuring and reporting KPIs for digital content or campaigns, including performance interpretation and recommendations.

- Track ambassador adoption of approved content, including what gets used, where it performs best, and what barriers reduce uptake (format, clarity, timing, relevance).
- Identify high-performing formats, topics, hooks, CTAs, posting patterns, and creators, and translate these into repeatable insights the team can action quickly.
- Generate insights at multiple levels: platform-specific performance, campaign-level learning, and borough/community-specific engagement patterns to support localised messaging.
- Feed intelligence consistently to the Social Media Director, Campaign Manager, Content Creators, and Engagement Officers to improve strategy, production priorities, and community responses.
- Recommend practical action plans to scale what works (replicate formats, expand reach, optimise distribution) and address underperforming content (iterate creative, adjust targeting, refine CTA).
- Maintain clear records for reporting and transparency, ensuring insight outputs are traceable, consistent, and suitable for internal review and governance.
- Support development of KPI frameworks and reporting standards, including definitions, measurement rules, cadence, and ownership, so the C.I.C can scale analysis without confusion.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by testing hypotheses, monitoring trends, and flagging risks (e.g., vanity metrics, misleading interpretations, safeguarding-sensitive performance patterns).

About the role

The Cultural Ambassadors Programme is designed to create a supportive, inclusive, and multicultural platform for newcomers settling in the UK. At Tell My Truth and Shame the Devil C.I.C., every donor interaction, contribution, and campaign generates valuable insight. The Data and Donor Relations Officer ensures that donor information is accurate, secure, and effectively used to build strong relationships, improve engagement, and guide fundraising strategy. You will be the guardian of donor data and the connector between insight and action, ensuring that each supporter feels valued and informed while maintaining ethical and safeguarding standards.
This is not a generic admin role. It is strategic, detail-focused and high-impact, central to the C.I.C’s long-term sustainability.
Purpose of the Role
This role exists to:
- Maintain and manage donor databases with accuracy and security
- Track donor engagement, contributions, and interactions
- Analyse donor behaviour and generate insights to inform campaigns and communications
- Support the Fundraising Director and Communication Specialists with data-driven strategies
- Ensure compliance with GDPR, safeguarding, and CIC policies
- Provide reporting on donor activity, trends, and retention strategies
You are the link between data, strategy, and donor trust.

To manage, analyse and maintain accurate donor and stakeholder data, ensuring secure, ethical handling while providing insights and recommendations to improve engagement, retention, and overall donor experience.

Experience Qualification and Requirements
Essential / Highly Valued Experience
- Experience managing donor databases or CRM systems (e.g., CiviCRM, Salesforce, Donorbox).
- Competence in data entry, tracking, and ensuring data accuracy.

- Knowledge of GDPR, data protection principles, and ethical data handling.

Main Responsibilities/ Key Duties
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all donors, sponsors, and stakeholders across the organisation’s donor management systems or CRM platforms.
- Monitor and track contributions, engagement metrics, and fundraising activities to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Generate regular reports for leadership, highlighting trends in donor retention, engagement, campaign performance, and income streams.
- Support segmentation and targeting of donors and supporters for personalised outreach and engagement initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with Content and Donor Communication Specialists to personalise messaging based on donor data and behaviour.
- Ensure all personal, financial, and sensitive donor data is handled ethically and securely in line with GDPR, data protection laws, and organisational safeguarding policies
- Analyse donor behaviour, giving patterns, and campaign results to provide actionable recommendations for improving donor experience and engagement.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen relationships with donors and sponsors, including stewardship, recognition, and follow-up communications.
- Maintain and improve data management systems, processes, and documentation to support efficient operations and reporting.
- Liaise with fundraising, membership, and digital teams to ensure consistency and accuracy of donor data across platforms.
- Flag data quality issues or system gaps and recommend solutions to leadership.
- Contribute to planning for scaling donor management systems as the CIC grows.
- Support the development of dashboards, analytics tools, or visualisations to improve understanding and accessibility of donor data.

We are looking to welcome a new Treasurer to our Board of Trustees.
To serve as one of Daybreak’s trustees is to play a fundamental role in enabling our charity to pursue its vision, mission, and values. Your contribution to discussions and decision-making at the highest level of our organization will ensure that we can continue to provide our services to those in need of our support.
In addition to the general duties of a Trustee, as Treasurer, your input will be critical to safeguarding the financial integrity and sustainability of our charity. You will ensure that appropriate financial measures are upheld and share your insights with the Board about the financial health of our organisation. Your experience will enable us to understand the obstacles we face and how we can navigate these challenges.
The role is more focused on strategy than detail. You will offer crucial guidance and support to management in developing a growth strategy that will allow Daybreak to reach more people and touch more lives.
There is no requirement for you to have experience as a Trustee. All we need is a willingness to use your skills and expertise to support Daybreak, a desire to make a difference for our service users, and a commitment to active participation in the role.
We would especially welcome applications from under-represented sections of society or those with experience of some of the issues facing our beneficiaries.
The time commitment involved is around thirty hours per year, though a wide range of opportunities to get involved in the Board’s work will be provided. Board meetings are usually held quarterly at our head office in Southampton, Hampshire or online.
